Chapter 14 - 14.Trial of the Eastern Wilds

Night had fallen over the Eastern Wilds.

The moonlight shimmered through twisted trees, illuminating paths that seemed to shift with each step.

Arka moved cautiously, senses heightened by the shrine's recent awakening.

"These lands test every heartbeat," the wolf whispered.

"Not just strength, but mind and spirit."

✦ The First Challenge

As they walked deeper, the air thickened, and the forest itself seemed alive.

Shadows moved independently, forming shapes of beasts long extinct.

A roar shattered the silence a massive beast with scales like cracked obsidian lunged at them.

Arka's aura flared.

Silver-gold-red energy pulsed around him, forming a protective barrier as he leapt.

"This is no ordinary fight," Liora warned.

"The trials of the Eastern Wilds reveal your limits."

The beast struck, claws rending the air. Arka countered with a sweep of energy, feeling its ancient power resonate with his own Seals.

"Every strike teaches," the wolf said.

"Learn, adapt, or fall."

✦ Convergence of Memory and Reality

Suddenly, the ground cracked, and visions from the shrine merged with reality:

A younger Star Wolf battling creatures identical to the ones before him.

Liora's past encounters with hidden beasts, guiding lost heroes.

Echoes of the corrupted Seal that once ruled the Eastern Wilds.

Arka's mind spun, balancing memory and present action.

"Focus," he muttered.

"I will not be overwhelmed."

He struck again, this time in perfect harmony with the flow of memories, and the beast faltered, bowing its head.

"Not all beasts are enemies," the wolf reminded.

"Some are allies in disguise."

✦ Gaining the Eastern Companion

From the fallen beast, a soft glow emanated.

It transformed, shrinking to the size of a large wolf with shimmering silver fur and eyes that mirrored the stars.

"A companion," Liora said with a faint smile.

"The Eastern Wilds recognize strength and loyalty."

Arka knelt.

"Welcome," he whispered.

"Together, we will face what comes next."

The wolf inside him purred, sensing a bond forming.

✦ The Shrine's Secret

They continued to the heart of the Wilds, where another ancient shrine awaited. Its aura was darker, tinged with red and silver.

"This shrine guards the second fragment of the Seal memories," Liora said.

"It will push you further than before."

Arka approached, aura igniting. The shrine responded, sending waves of energy that tested his mind, body, and soul simultaneously.

"Every trial strengthens the Star Wolf," the wolf said.

"But beware… some truths may break you."

As Arka stepped inside, the chamber pulsed, light and shadows dancing together.

This was only the beginning of his mastery over the Eastern Wilds.
