Chapter 124 - Chapter 124

Special abilities? Lusamine's curiosity was piqued. As an expert in studying rare mythical creatures, she was naturally intrigued by this extraordinary being.

"It can change its form," Carl explained, eyes fixed on the sky. "Normally, it's in its regular form, but with specific meteorite gene fragments, it can switch to speed, attack, or defense forms as needed."

"In its regular form, it's impressively balanced in physical attack, special attack, and speed. Its physical attack is comparable to Groudon, special attack matches Kyogre, and its speed is even a bit faster than Rayquaza."

"See that Deoxys up there? It's dodging Rayquaza's attacks purely through its speed advantage. However, its regular form has weak defenses, so getting hit is pretty much game over."

"In attack form, it boosts its power even more, but its defenses become even weaker, making it easy to take down. Conversely, the defense form sacrifices speed and attack to become a true tank."

"Unfortunately, this Deoxys can't fly and is far from matching the mightiest Rayquaza. Against absolute power, even the strongest defense won't hold."

"As for the speed form, it reallocates some attack power to defense and speed, mainly for escaping or maneuvering, not direct combat."

Lusamine listened intently. After a pause, she asked, "Is there no limit to Deoxys switching forms?"

"As long as it masters the technique, it can switch freely."

"No wonder it can keep up with Rayquaza for so long," Lusamine mused.

"Exactly," Carl nodded.

For legendary creatures, the ability to switch forms without limit means they can adapt instantly. Deoxys's total stats approach nine hundred, even more astonishing than a MEGA Rayquaza.

"If there were two Deoxys, Rayquaza might not be able to handle them," Lusamine joked.

Carl suddenly fixed her with an odd look.

"What? What is it?" Lusamine felt a shiver run down her spine under his gaze. Was he planning some surprise attack again?

"Do you have some kind of magical mouth?"

"Huh?"

Lusamine was baffled, not understanding his meaning.

At that moment, Carl's attention was drawn to the star map in his mind. Just after Lusamine spoke, a blue dot appeared with a "ding" sound.

This indicated another Deoxys had appeared!

Wasn't this a magical mouth indeed?

"The location..."

Carl's heartbeat quickened.

The blue dot overlapped perfectly with the red dot representing him—meaning a Deoxys was right next to him!

A chill ran down his spine as if a terrifying presence was watching him.

Swallowing hard, Carl slowly turned around.

He looked up sharply to see a bizarre creature before him. It had oval white eyes framed in black, with a gaze sharp enough to instill fear. Lusamine was startled by his sudden reaction and turned around, instantly feeling her hair stand on end.

The creature looked like something straight out of a sci-fi movie. Its body was a striking orange-red, with a blue-green face marked by a purple stripe, exuding an aura of cold authority. The most striking feature was the blue-glowing crystalline organ on its chest, adding to its mysterious presence.

The system identified this as a special Deoxys, currently injured. It was far stronger than the one battling in the sky, having mastered all form changes. This meant it had absorbed energy from at least three meteorites.

"Hello?" Carl tentatively greeted. Though injured, the fact it maintained form suggested it wasn't freshly defeated. Perhaps it was an old wound aggravated by battle, likely leaving it in a foul mood. And somehow, he was likely involved in all this.

The Deoxys continued to stare at him, unmoving. Perhaps it didn't understand human language. After all, as a creature mutated from cosmic viruses, not understanding human speech was quite normal.

Carl tried using his aura ability to sense Deoxys but found no aura response. This surprised him, as all life forms should have unique aura waves. He guessed this might relate to Deoxys's nature as cosmic virus DNA.

Since aura sensing was ineffective, Carl attempted telepathy, focusing on the blue crystal at Deoxys's chest. He noticed a change in its gaze, but Deoxys merely responded with aurora beams. Carl then remembered that auroras were this species' communication method.

Facing this communication barrier, Carl devised a new plan: "If you don't understand, stay silent. If I'm wrong, shake your head; if I'm right, nod." He demonstrated the nodding and shaking motions.

When Deoxys nodded to show understanding, Carl finally breathed a sigh of relief. Though the process was twisted, he finally found a way to communicate.

"Did you just wake up?"

Deoxys waved a tentacle.

"Did you escape from somewhere else?"

It nodded slightly.

It seemed it had just tangled with Rayquaza and barely escaped. But Carl suddenly thought of a question—if that was true, why hadn't it shown up on the star map before?

"Were you hiding here to recover?"

Deoxys nodded again.

Carl rubbed his nose. So, he had interrupted its recovery. Awkward.

"Do you want to rescue other companions?"

It immediately gave a positive response.

"Then why were you staring at me?"

Deoxys floated silently, unmoving.

Carl rephrased, "Do you want to attack me?"

If it wanted revenge, it should have acted already.

Sure enough, the alien creature shook its head.

"So... do you think I can help?"

Upon confirmation, Carl pondered. Helping wasn't impossible; the simplest way would be having Hoopa create a portal.

But Rayquaza would recognize Hoopa's ability, essentially walking into a trap.

He needed a stronger ally, maybe calling on Mew or those ancient beasts. Carl considered his options but quickly realized he was missing something. Deoxys wasn't counting on his usual methods; it sought something else.

A sudden idea struck him. He produced two sleeping Cosmog from his pocket. "Do you need their help?"

Deoxys nodded immediately, eyes filled with hopeful anticipation.

"Oh my! Two Cosmog!" Lusamine, who had been silent, couldn't contain her amazement. She never imagined another of such rare creatures existed.

This unexpected turn had both Carl and Lusamine considering the implications of their newfound allies.
