Chapter 213 – So Many Dragon Soars, Kill Kill Kill!
That eerie laughter made everyone present feel a chill run down their spine. Out of the corner of his eye, Xiao Yuan saw a figure shrouded in black mist, radiating the aura of a Dou Zong.
Another Dou Zong?!
Everyone glanced around in confusion, unsure of whose side this strange and sinister Dou Zong belonged to.
Su Qian, far more experienced than most, immediately grew serious and muttered,
"Someone from the Hall of Souls?"
"Jie jie jie, not bad, you've got some sharp eyes. Yes, I am a Protector from the Hall of Souls!"
The sinister laughter rang again from within the black mist.
"Where is Han Feng? He called me here and now he's nowhere to be seen!"
The Protector spoke with confusion.
"Esteemed sir, Master Han was trapped by that youth over there. We'd be grateful if you would lend your strength."
The Gold and Silver Elders quickly spoke up. They had been paid handsomely to fight—and now that Han Feng's fate was uncertain, they were nervous.
"Hmph. A mere Dou Wang managed to trap Han Feng?"
The Protector snorted disdainfully, turning his gaze toward Xiao Yuan.
"Hmm? The Fallen Heart Flame?"
His tone shifted to excitement upon seeing the flame in Xiao Yuan's hand.
Xiao Yuan, however, remained still, focused on absorbing and refining the heart fire within his body.
Su Qian sensed trouble and immediately flew forward to help him—
But—
Swish!
The Gold and Silver Elders blocked his path.
"Damn it! If something happens to Xiao Yuan, I swear I'll report this to the Headmaster and raze the Black-Corner Region to the ground!"
Su Qian was completely enraged now. His attacks turned even more vicious, and the Gold and Silver Elders quickly began to falter.
But at this moment, there was no one left who could stop the Protector from reaching Xiao Yuan.
Unluckily, Xiao Yuan was in a critical state, unable to defend himself.
But he wasn't worried. In fact, as his Shaoyin Sovereign Fire continued to grow stronger inside him, he felt clearer and more focused than ever.
Still… feeling good wouldn't mean much if he got killed.
Just as the Protector reached out to grab him, the wild heart fire burst outward—and even the Dou Zong's body stiffened.
Clearly, the Fallen Heart Flame's power recognized no ally or foe.
Still, this was a Dou Zong we're talking about. He resisted the flame quickly, eyes cold and cruel as he reached for Xiao Yuan again.
From below, Xiao Yu covered her mouth, eyes brimming with tears.
"Strange… Teacher seems to be awake. Why hasn't he stepped in?"
Xiao Yuan frowned slightly. He had already sensed Yao Lao's awakening when Han Feng was killed. So why hadn't he moved?
Just as the Protector's hand was about to touch Xiao Yuan—
BOOM!
Space itself froze.
It was as if invisible hands had locked the Dou Zong in place. He couldn't move.
A spatial prison?!
Even Su Qian, who had been worried moments before, now stared in disbelief.
A grin appeared on Xiao Yuan's face.
The Dou Zong, trapped mid-motion, was panicking now.
A spatial prison?! That's a Dou Zun-level technique! How could this brat pull it off?!
"So eager to meet Han Feng? Let me send you to him."
A booming, ancient voice echoed in his ears.
The next moment, overwhelming soul force crushed the Dou Zong into nothing. The space around him tore open and devoured the remnants. The black mist dispersed entirely.
Had it not been for the lingering spiritual chill, many would have believed they imagined the entire scene.
A Dou Zong—just gone. Just like that?!
The Black-Corner Region fighters were horrified. Even a fool could now see: Xiao Yuan was not someone to mess with.
They immediately pulled back, no longer willing to fight Jia Nan Academy.
BOOM!
Just then, a surge of searing heat erupted. Everyone turned.
Orange-red flames burst from Xiao Yuan's body, engulfing him. The Fallen Heart Flame's aura weakened further.
This heat… might already rival a Heavenly Flame!
High above, Su Qian stared curiously at the fire wrapping around Xiao Yuan.
On the ground, Xiao Yuan's earlier defensive seal had run out of energy. Xiao Yan stepped forward, tossing aside Han Feng's ring.
"Han Feng is dead. Anyone else want to join him?"
His voice was cold and unshaken. He stepped forward.
Whoosh!
With a ripple in the air, he appeared beside Xiao Yuan—unleashing an aura on par with a Dou Zong!
What the hell?!
The Black-Corner Region fighters were stunned.
How the hell did a Dou Ling turn into a Dou Zong?!
Xiao Yuan conjured a triple flame barrier—orange-red, black and white—sealing the essence of the Fallen Heart Flame, then tossed it to Xiao Yan.
"I've drained some of its energy. Still, taming it won't be easy."
Xiao Yan nodded and caught the flame.
Whoosh!
Su Qian reappeared beside them, shooting a confused glance at the brothers.
These two are outrageous.
"Pretending to be strong!"
The Gold and Silver Elders attacked, unleashing a powerful joint Dou Qi blast at Xiao Yan.
Xiao Yan barely flinched. He waved his hand, and an invisible force shattered the blast and struck the twins.
Pfft!
They coughed blood and were sent flying, completely defeated.
"Anyone else? Might as well come at me together."
His voice was still calm and cold.
The Black-Corner Region fighters stared at the twins, now like battered dogs. They had nothing to say.
Yuan Yi, the Eight Gates leader, felt vindicated. This white-robed youth clearly had terrifying backing. Why had he even considered opposing him?
Without a second thought, he turned and fled.
Better late than dead.
Seeing a Dou Huang retreating, the others followed suit.
"Trying to run?"
Xiao Yuan wasn't having it.
He raised his hand. Orange-red flames surged—and a pulse of power spread like lightning.
Suddenly, the fleeing Black-Corner fighters felt a spark of fire ignite in their hearts.
"Die."
Xiao Yuan's face turned ruthless. His fingers flew through hand signs:
Frost Flame Dragon Soar!
Yin-Yang Dragon Soar!
Sovereign Flame Dragon Soar!
Blue Thunder Dragon Soar!
Black, black and white, orange-red, and blue—four dragons roared into existence and tore into the retreating enemies.
And that wasn't all.
BOOM!
Thunderclouds gathered. Lightning cracked. Xiao Yuan raised a blue spear.
Earth-tier Technique: Nine Tribulations Demon Thunder Spear!
With a change in seals, black markings spread across the spear—Black Demon Lightning! The air trembled with destructive force.
Whoosh!
He vanished and reappeared in the enemy ranks. The spear danced like a dragon through the sky.
One by one, enemies fell.
Su Qian and Xiao Yan were momentarily stunned.
What… just happened?
"Come and go as you please? Is Jia Nan Academy your backyard?!"
Xiao Yuan's furious roar echoed.
Earlier, these same enemies had pressured the Inner Academy Elders—now they fell like weaklings before Xiao Yuan's fury.
Only a few Dou Huangs reacted fast enough to flee.
No one wanted to face someone who could kill a Dou Huang in seconds—and still had two Dou Zong allies watching.
Xiao Yuan didn't chase. He had already pushed his limits.
Still, the treasure trove left by the dead Dou Wangs wasn't a bad harvest.
And there were still the Gold and Silver Elders.
He flickered over to their broken bodies. Two blasts of Heavenly Flame later—and they were ash.
He casually collected their rings and returned to Su Qian and Xiao Yan.
"You're brutal," Su Qian muttered, shaking his head.
"They invaded our Academy. If we didn't hit back, they'd think we were weak."
Xiao Yuan popped a recovery pill and shrugged.
"You did well," Su Qian nodded. He then turned to Hu Gan, issuing orders.
"Vice Headmaster Hu Gan, sort things out here. I have other matters to attend to."
Then he looked to the two Xiao brothers and smiled politely.
"Let's go talk somewhere more private."
He led the way.
Xiao Yan had already withdrawn his aura. To avoid attention, he refrained from showing off and followed Su Qian.
Xiao Yuan, having recovered some Dou Qi with his high-tier cultivation technique, kept pace easily.
They arrived at Su Qian's office shortly after.
With a wave of his sleeve, Su Qian cast a soundproof barrier. Then, turning to Xiao Yan, he asked:
"Is the Medicine Sovereign here?"
Without a word, Yao Lao's figure materialized in the room. Xiao Yan's aura dropped back to Dou Ling.
"You know me?"
Yao Lao asked curiously.
"Of course. I once watched you become famous during the Central Plains Alchemist Tournament."
Su Qian lowered his tone and bowed respectfully.
In truth, when Su Qian had trained in the Central Plains, Yao Lao's name was already legendary.
"So, someone remembers this old man."
Yao Lao stroked his beard and chuckled.
"Rumor had it your death was linked to Han Feng. Even Elder Feng investigated for years. Seems the rumors were true. Thankfully, you're alive."
Yao Lao paused before nodding.
"It's been years since I've seen Feng Xian…"
Then he got to the point.
"Now that the Fallen Heart Flame belongs to Xiao Yan, the Academy no longer needs it. I won't let you walk away empty-handed. Here—some medicinal formulas and cultivation methods, as compensation."
Su Qian smiled. "No need. The flame gained sentience. As you said, we can't control it anymore. The Headmaster anticipated this."
He pulled out a container.
"Before he left, he prepared this. With even a small portion of the flame, the Refining Tower will still function, though not as well as before."
"Besides, your disciple will become someone extraordinary. That benefits us all. I trust you both."
Xiao Yan exhaled in relief and nodded gratefully.
"A fair deal," Yao Lao agreed.
"Still, I don't like leaving debts unpaid. Here—some formulas and methods I've developed. Consider it a gift to your Academy."
Su Qian smiled and accepted.
