Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Iron and Blood Massacre

The pirate world existed in carefully constructed isolation, its inhabitants receiving only filtered information through official channels. Most civilians could only learn about external events through newspapers and government announcements, seeing only what the World Government deemed appropriate for public consumption.

Even after Morgans' rise as the underground information broker, his World Economic News papers glossed over the bloodiest realities of pirate conflicts. The bird-man journalist often sanitized violent encounters to maintain public morale and support Marine recruitment efforts. When Golden Lion Shiki had attacked Marine Headquarters with his Fuwa-Fuwa no Mi (Float-Float Fruit) powers, causing devastating casualties throughout Marineford's ranks, the official reports had celebrated Garp and Sengoku's eventual victory while completely omitting the massive Marine losses suffered during the assault.

This deliberate information filtering created what could only be described as a protective bubble around civilian populations. The true suffering caused by the Great Pirate Era remained largely hidden from public view, shielding ordinary people from the harsh realities of their world. However, the Sky Screen's brutal honesty was now tearing apart this carefully maintained illusion with devastating effectiveness.

Adult viewers around the world found themselves overwhelmed by the graphic imagery, many becoming physically ill as they witnessed unfiltered warfare for the first time. Children collapsed from shock, while others would carry these images as permanent psychological scars. The Sky Screen had shattered the false peace that had protected civilian morale for decades.

The Sky Screen's perspective shifted from distant overview to intimate battle footage, revealing a towering figure over four meters tall engaged in combat against dozens of Marine officers. Despite the clown makeup adorning his face, the distinctive red nose made his identity unmistakable—this was indeed Buggy the Clown, but transformed into something far beyond his current pathetic state.

"Your World Government broke our agreement when you dissolved the Shichibukai system," the future Buggy declared with chilling satisfaction. "You should have anticipated today's consequences. I've eliminated so many Marines—why isn't anyone weeping?"

His laughter carried genuine malice, radiating an aura of casual cruelty that would paralyze weaker individuals through sheer psychological pressure. This was not the cowardly clown currently handcuffed in Loguetown—this was a predator who had evolved beyond human limitations.

Vice Admiral Onigumo, despite having lost both arms during the engagement, continued fighting through his Life Return technique. His hair manipulated dozens of swords simultaneously, each blade coated with advanced Armament Haki as he pressed his assault against the overwhelming opponent.

"I'll make you pay for every life you've taken!" Onigumo roared with desperate fury.

Vice Admiral Doberman fought alongside him, his swordsmanship creating devastating slashes that should have been impossible to survive. Behind them, Rear Admiral Tashigi added her own blade techniques to the coordinated assault.

"Return what you've stolen!" they cried in unison.

Vice Admiral Hina deployed her Ori Ori no Mi (Bind-Bind Fruit) abilities to maximum effect, extending black iron barriers reinforced with Armament Haki in an attempt to restrain Buggy's segmentation powers. If she could prevent him from splitting apart, conventional attacks might finally prove effective.

"Hina is extremely angry," she declared with cold determination. "Hina demands your life."

"Bunkai" (Disintegration)

With Buggy as the epicenter, an invisible force radiated outward with devastating results. Every attack—sword slashes, hair constructs, iron barriers—was instantly torn apart and scattered like dust in the wind. The very island beneath his feet split into deep canyons that seemed to reach the ocean floor.

"You're all pathetically weak," Buggy observed with casual contempt. "If Admiral Smoker were here personally, I might consider taking this seriously."

The Sky Screen's Buggy clearly possessed Admiral-level combat capabilities, treating these elite Marines like training exercises rather than life-or-death battles.

"He's achieved Devil Fruit Awakening," Vice Admiral Onigumo realized with growing horror. "Why has this monster been hiding his power for so long?"

His advanced Haki could temporarily resist Buggy's disintegration effects, but the energy required was unsustainable. Every second of resistance drained years from his remaining lifespan.

"Only the Admirals among your forces have found the correct path," Buggy explained with professor-like condescension. "The rest of you remain superstitious about this technique called Haki. Against truly powerful Devil Fruit abilities, such methods prove illusory. I can even decompose the Haki within your bodies."

He raised a single finger toward Vice Admiral Doberman, his expression shifting to focused concentration.

"Atomic Bunkai" (Atomic Disintegration)

Doberman's Observation Haki screamed warnings as he wrapped his entire body in maximum Armament Haki—a technique that had saved his life countless times throughout his career. Today, however, his confidence proved fatal.

The veteran Vice Admiral, who had participated in multiple Buster Call operations, left no final words. His Armament Haki, flesh, bones, and cherished sword were reduced to constituent particles in an instant, scattered so thoroughly that no trace remained.

"Doberman!" Onigumo screamed as his comrade simply ceased to exist. "You monster! I'll avenge him with my life!"

The remaining Marines pressed their attack with renewed desperation, but conventional tactics proved utterly meaningless against such overwhelming power. Onigumo's Life Return techniques created dozens of fist-shaped hair constructs, but each was disintegrated before making contact.

"Boring," Buggy commented, delivering a casual kick toward the exhausted Vice Admiral.

Despite Onigumo's "Tekkai: Steel" technique reinforced with advanced Armament Haki, the impact sent him flying like a cannonball. He crashed through a warship's mast, the metal flagpole piercing his torso and leaving him suspended helplessly as blood pooled beneath him.

"I... can still... fight..." Onigumo gasped, his spirit unbroken despite mortal wounds. "My... life... for justice..."

"Hina knows she cannot survive this battle," Vice Admiral Hina declared with regal composure, her red suit and justice cloak giving her a dignified appearance even facing certain death. "But Hina will not retreat."

"Sister Hina, I'll stand with you," Rear Admiral Tashigi affirmed, raising her sword in final salute.

"Awaken your Devil Fruit, Hina," Buggy offered with mock generosity. "Eliminate the woman beside you, and I might accept your surrender."

"The Marines will never bow to pirates," both women replied simultaneously, charging forward with the desperate courage of those who had nothing left to lose.

"Such a waste of potential," Buggy sighed. "Binary Bunkai" (Binary Disintegration)

The camera pulled back to reveal the horrifying scope of destruction. Iron Island itself was torn apart by disintegration forces, splitting into smaller fragments as most of the landmass sank beneath the waves. No conventional defense could withstand such absolute power.

The Sky Screen's timeline shifted from day to evening as a figure approached through smoke-filled skies. Admiral Smoker, utilizing his Moku Moku no Mi at maximum capacity, flew faster than any warship could travel. His smoke propulsion left contrails across the darkening horizon as he raced toward the disaster zone.

The Admiral landed on what remained of Iron Island, his justice cloak billowing as he surveyed the devastation. The scene that greeted him would haunt his nightmares for the remainder of his life.

Scattered across the battlefield were the remains of his former colleagues and subordinates. Near the island's center, a women with long pink hair head on black stick, there Smoker discovered a message crafted with deliberate cruelty—a taunting note that used the blood of fallen Marines as ink, signed with Buggy's distinctive clown signature.

"Thank you, Mr. Smoker, for helping me enter that underwater prison. With love, Buggy the Clown."

The message was accompanied by a crude but recognizable drawing of a grinning clown face.

"BUGGY!" Admiral Smoker's anguished roar echoed across the empty waters. "I'LL KILL YOU! I SWEAR I'LL DESTROY YOU!"

The Admiral collapsed to his knees beside the tragic scene, tears streaming down his weathered face as the full weight of his indirect responsibility crashed down upon him. The Sky Screen captured every moment of his grief, broadcasting the broken man's despair to every corner of the world.
