Chapter 56: Oscar
After the evening arena matches, everyone gathered together to prepare to return to the academy.
Flender left the group to head to his shop, asking Dai Mubai to lead the others back.
Ma Hongjun, however, was preparing to leave the group to vent his frustration nearby and even called out for Dai Mubai to join him.
Dai Mubai glanced at Zhu Zhuqing and then at the others: "Fatty, you don't need to call me for something like this. Don't tarnish my reputation."
Ma Hongjun laughed: "Dai, who doesn't know each other here? You've had more fun than I have. Don't forget about those twins."
Dai Mubai immediately looked embarrassed: "Fatty, if you want to go, go, and stop talking so much. And don't think I won't hit you."
Ma Hongjun, quick on the draw, glanced at Zhu Zhuqing and the other beautiful girls, then ran off in a flash.
Xiao Wu, puzzled, spoke up: "What exactly is Fatty going to do? He just said something about a brothel, what kind of place is that?"
The others immediately had dark expressions, especially Tang San, who quickly pulled Xiao Wu aside and whispered, while Xiao Wu's face visibly reddened.
Ning Rongrong had something to say but was immediately silenced when Yang Xiong shot her a stern look, clearly reminding her of the conversation they had earlier.
Xiao Wu, slightly upset, said: "Third Brother, you absolutely cannot go to places like that. If you do, I'll have to teach you a lesson."
Tang San's face turned extremely awkward, and he hurriedly spoke: "Xiao Wu, don't worry. Someone like me would never go to a brothel. I'm nothing like Fatty."
The others couldn't help but laugh at the interaction between Tang San and Xiao Wu.
Ning Rongrong also imitated them: "Xiongzi, judging by your reaction, it seems like you know quite a bit about brothels. Have you been there before?"
Yang Xiong smiled: "I've never left my sect since I was a child. How would I know anything about brothels? Besides, I'm only interested in cultivation, not those other things."
Oscar nudged Yang Xiong's waist: "Xiong, you seem to be quite wealthy. You probably have more experience in this area. Have you encountered any more advanced ones?"
Ning Rongrong, upon hearing this, became curious: "Xiongzi, you have to tell us honestly. You're never around in class. Have you secretly been seeing multiple girlfriends? Maybe sneaking out of the sect to have some fun?"
Yang Xiong was speechless at this comment: "I don't attend class because I'm focused on my cultivation. Even the teachers allow it. Do you not trust the teachers?"
Xiao Wu, clearly mischievous, began playing along. Both she and Ning Rongrong were just as playful and sneaky, leaning in like old friends gossiping.
"Rongrong, were you and Xiongzi classmates? You should tell us what's going on with him always disappearing during class."
Ning Rongrong replied: "Xiongzi and I were classmates. This guy has always liked reading. During class, he'd always be reading a book and not paying attention. Eventually, he stopped coming to class altogether and rarely interacted with others. I didn't want to go to class either, but my father said if I could be number one in cultural studies, just like him, then I could skip classes."
"It's a pity that this guy seemed to be favored by the teachers. They even allowed him to skip school, saying he only needed to attend one class a week. Recently, I haven't even seen him in half a year. I strongly suspect he's been sneaking off to a brothel."
Xiao Wu nodded, clearly agreeing with Ning Rongrong's statement.
Yang Xiong gave Xiao Wu a side-eye: "You little bunny, wait, I should call you an old bunny. I remember I'm much older than you. You should call me Xiongzi or Yang Xiong, that's what my family calls me."
Xiao Wu shot him a glare: "Rongrong calls you Xiongzi, so why can't I? From now on, everyone should call you Xiongzi."
Before Yang Xiong could respond, Ning Rongrong nodded in agreement. It looked like the two girls had bonded over this.
Yang Xiong couldn't help but sigh, feeling helpless, thinking to himself: "You mischievous little bunny, always playing around. Do you believe that one day I'll turn you into a soul ring?"
Tang San, watching Xiao Wu playfully tease, looked a bit awkward but had a fond expression in his eyes for Xiao Wu.
After everyone had finished joking around, there was no conflict, and they all returned to Shrek Academy.
The next day, Flender was back to teaching, but by the time class started, everyone had arrived except Oscar.
Flender's expression was uncertain: "Mubai, go wake Oscar up. How can he still be sleeping at such a young age?"
Tang San quickly spoke up: "Dean, when I left the dorm, he was still meditating. He must have been deep into his cultivation, which is why he didn't wake up on time."
Before Dai Mubai could go to wake Oscar, Oscar came rushing out of the dorm, full of energy.
Flender snorted coldly: "Oscar, I think you need to run a few more laps. You dare be late for class?"
Oscar hurriedly spoke: "Dean, please let me explain. I've broken through to level 30."
Flender immediately became delighted: "Good, very good! Oscar, you've truly lived up to my expectations. It looks like our academy finally has its second Soul Sovereign."
Yang Xiong glanced at Oscar. As expected, things were going just as they had in the original story. It seemed like it was time for him to take action.
Flender then addressed everyone: "Today's class will focus on Oscar. Everyone must eat at least one sausage made by Oscar."
The group was immediately shocked, especially the three girls, who looked clearly disgusted.
Yang Xiong, however, was quite casual about it: "Oscar, make me two sausages using both your soul skills."
Oscar, initially feeling a bit disappointed, brightened up immediately. He quickly made two sausages: the first, a Super Recovery Sausage from his first soul skill, and the second, a Detox Sausage from his second soul skill. The spells associated with them were a bit gross, named "I've got a big sausage" and "I've got a small sausage."
The group looked at Yang Xiong and Oscar with disdain. Clearly, they found Oscar's spells disgusting, and Yang Xiong seemed to ignore how gross they were.
Yang Xiong, however, didn't care about their expressions. He simply took the two sausages and popped them in his mouth, even nodding in approval: "Not bad, they're quite good. The taste is fine, and the effects on soul masters are noticeable. Truly worthy of being made by a top-tier martial soul with full innate soul power."
Oscar, hearing this, was deeply encouraged, as if he had found a kindred spirit: "Xiong, you really understand me. From now on, you'll truly be my big brother."
Yang Xiong laughed: "Oscar, you're older than me. Just call me Xiong or Yang Xiong. My family calls me that."
Ning Rongrong, standing by, seemed unusually disgusted: "Xiongzi, don't you think that the spell and the sausages together are a bit gross? I can't even bring myself to eat them."
The other six nodded in agreement, clearly sharing her sentiment.
Yang Xiong looked at the six and couldn't help but sigh: "The soul master world is far crueler than anyone imagines. I once went to the Soul Beast Forest on my own. The hunger and lack of soul power were almost despairing. If I had Oscar's sausages back then, I would've had much more confidence facing the soul beasts."
"Not to mention the Soul Master battles, where sometimes life or death can be decided in an instant. Whether it's due to lack of soul power or poison, these are fatal. Oscar's sausages can be a huge help in battle, and in critical moments, they can turn the tide. Compared to a little spell, that's nothing."
"Besides, don't you think Oscar's spell and the sausages go perfectly together? Perhaps that's the artistry brought by his full innate soul power."
The group fell silent after hearing this.
