Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Martial Soul Awakening

Chapter 2: Martial Soul Awakening

Early the next morning, Yang Lin and Sun Yu took Yang Xiong out to prepare for his martial soul awakening.

The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School covered a vast area, with hundreds of kilometers being its territory. In addition to the inner sect's location, they had independently built a city called Seven Treasure City, along with towns scattered around for several hundred kilometers.

Yang Xiong's home was located in Seven Treasure City, but not in the city center. Instead, it was in the western part of the city. Although it wasn't as bustling, it was very close to Tiandou City, only about a hundred kilometers away.

The three of them soon arrived at the martial soul awakening location, where there were already quite a few people going through the process. Of course, this was just a small outpost of Seven Treasure City, as the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School had many such outposts.

The entire Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School may only have 5,000 soul masters, but the number of people under its jurisdiction was well over a million, and these people could be considered as the private property of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School.

Even though this was a small outpost, the building was very luxurious, with carved beams and painted rafters, giving it an imposing appearance.

At this outpost, over fifty children were going through the martial soul awakening process. Besides the children and their parents, there were also several elders maintaining order.

At that moment, two people walked in from outside, wearing silver robes. They appeared to be inner sect members of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School.

When the middle-aged man walked into the center of the hall, the entire hall fell silent.

"Hello everyone, I am Ning Yuan, an inner sect elder of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School. My martial soul is the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, and I am a Level 57 Soul King. Today, I am in charge of awakening your martial souls. All children needing to awaken their martial souls, please line up," he said.

The other person started setting up a table nearby, seemingly to record each person's martial soul and their innate soul power level.

Yang Xiong also lined up, preparing for his martial soul awakening.

Ning Yuan took out six black stones and arranged them on the ground in a hexagonal shape. He then called the first child needing an awakening to step forward.

As the first child entered the hexagonal area, Ning Yuan smiled and said, "Child, close your eyes and don't be afraid."

Ning Yuan's hand seemed to emit radiant light, and a large crystal-like tower appeared. The entire tower shone with a magnificent light—this was his martial soul, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda.

Beams of light shot out from Ning Yuan's Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda and quickly entered the six black stones. The originally black stones now emitted a faint golden light, enveloping the child who needed to awaken their martial soul.

As the golden light entered the child's body, it seemed as though a powerful force was about to burst out.

"Child, extend your right hand."

The child instinctively extended his right hand, and it seemed as if all the power in his body flowed into it, eventually transforming into the image of a black bear.

Ning Yuan nodded, "Not bad. The martial soul is a black bear, a decent beast martial soul."

The child looked excited upon seeing his martial soul and stared blankly at the martial soul's illusion on his right hand.

Ning Yuan then took out a crystal stone and continued, "Place your hand on the crystal stone. I'll help you measure your innate soul power level."

The child, unafraid, placed his hand on the crystal stone as instructed. The crystal stone immediately emitted a light, and the previously empty stone seemed to display fluctuations of energy inside.

Ning Yuan nodded, "Not bad. Your innate soul power is Level 4, which means you have the potential to become a good soul master."

...

Next, the second child underwent the martial soul awakening. The process for everyone was mostly similar.

Yang Xiong found it a bit strange. About three or four out of the children before him had awakened their innate soul power levels. Though the levels ranged from 2 to 5, it seemed the children from the major sects had better talent than those from small villages.

Soon, it was Yang Xiong's turn. When he followed Ning Yuan's instructions and extended his right hand, there was no reaction at all.

Ning Yuan found this very strange. After trying three times, there was still no reaction from Yang Xiong's right hand, which made him start doubting if something was wrong with the procedure.

At this moment, his mother, Sun Yu, stepped forward. "Elder Ning Yuan, this child's awakening might be like mine. His martial soul may be linked to a part of his body."

Ning Yuan clearly recognized Sun Yu. "Elder Sun, that shouldn't be possible. Although your martial soul is eyes, such martial souls are exceedingly rare in the soul master world."

Sun Yu replied, "Elder Ning Yuan, let me check my son's situation. He might have inherited my eye martial soul."

Ning Yuan then nodded.

Sun Yu turned to Yang Xiong. "Xiaoxiong, do you feel any changes in your body, or any sense of power fluctuating from a specific part of your body, especially your eyes?"

Yang Xiong carefully sensed his body and then spoke, "Mom, I feel like my entire body is vibrating with power."

The crowd was surprised. Ning Yuan turned to the recorder and said, "Li Elder, I'll try helping this child awaken again. Please help me keep an eye on him."

Li Elder, who had been recording, walked over. Sun Yu, surprisingly, summoned her own martial soul. Her eyes seemed to shine, and two yellow and two purple soul rings appeared, indicating she had reached the highest possible standard for soul rings.

In fact, with Sun Yu's innate soul power and martial soul talent, if it weren't for the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School, she probably wouldn't have been able to obtain such high-quality soul rings.

As Ning Yuan continued his actions, Li Elder observed for a moment before saying, "Not bad. This child's martial soul is indeed his entire body. I can feel soul power fluctuations throughout his whole body."

Sun Yu nodded in agreement, confirming that Yang Xiong's martial soul was indeed his entire body.

Ning Yuan, as usual, took out a crystal stone. "Child, let's test your innate soul power level."

When Yang Xiong placed his right hand on the crystal stone, the light from the stone was noticeably stronger than the previous children's, though not excessively bright.

Ning Yuan seemed somewhat moved. "Not bad. Your innate soul power is Level 6, the highest among the children tested today. Unfortunately, with your martial soul, if it had been an Iron Sword, you would likely have surpassed your father by now."

Both Li Elder and Sun Yu, and even Yang Lin from afar, all nodded in agreement with Ning Yuan's words. Clearly, no one in this era recognized body martial souls.

However, contrary to this, Yang Xiong felt immense joy in his heart.

With innate soul power at Level 6 and a body martial soul, if these attributes were placed ten thousand years later, they would likely be seen as the peak of genius.

After all, Huo Gua only had an innate soul power of Level 1, and his martial soul was just eyes. Even his first soul ring was white. Yet, even so, the Body Sect sent a large group of people to Shrek to seize him.
