~~ *Alive In Blood and Debris* ~~
*CHAPTER 1*
Blood Everywhere...
The Dead scattered around...
A Kingdom he once loved, stood before him in ruins...
Fire engulfing the castle of memories he had made within...
His knees gave way, his breath felt laboured...
The citizens who had praised him as a savoiur where all gone.. leaving their bodies to mourn over..
His heart rate picked up pace..
Where must be his brother, the emperor? Where must be the baby he cherished the most? Where must be.. the woman he loved?
Have they perished in the flames as well? Or are their souls tied to the guilt of death toll he had to carry with him?
His eyes filled with tears. Unable to express a word was already an enough curse.. but this? This wasnt what he asked for when he opened up the cage to his heart...
And yet? He suffers- his land of memories fading away with the ashes of the fire, the melancholy calls of the deceased ringing his ears... he couldnt escape the guilt..
"Liora.." his head prompted him to search for the little child, and he took for a sprint. His heart crumpled as he jogged up the steep stairs, seeing his comrades unalive, their ghostly smiles and cheerful words squeezing his insides.
He saw the emperor, his brother, still as corpse, his moonlit face pale, but the sense of dignity as a royal lingering on it even after life.
He entered the room, hoping to be able to listen the faint cries of a small fragile human life..
The nanny.. who had told him the words of fantasies and whispers of comfort laid next to the cradle- her hand on the crib as the sole indicator of her loyalty and love..
He walked forward, hoping he would see the small face looking up at him and smiling brightly, calling him 'Dada' and asking him to lift in his arms..
No
His hopes were crushed, the life he only wanted to protect, had already slipped away.. he had failed, to protect the baby hands that wrapped around his finger at the time of birth- the warm embrace he gave to the little kid whenever he cried for food..
All of them was destroyed.
He stood there, his eyes never leaving the eternal young baby- whom he would never be able to see growing up...
He had lost it, ALL of them....
