Chapter 1 - A mystical meeting

Anna never believed in love at first sight. To be more precise, she didn't even believe in love at all. Maybe it was because she had never loved anyone, so she couldn't understand the people who claimed it was the best emotion in the world. To her, it always sounded ridiculous.

The morning started with the usual chaos. Anna was late—again. She woke with a start, realizing she had only minutes to get ready. The sound of running water came from the bathroom. Of course, her roommate Kaisy had locked herself inside, humming carelessly, as though Anna's life wasn't on the line.

"Kaisy! Not now . I've got to go" . Anna banged on the door, panic rising. No reply. With a frustrated sigh, she gave up on the idea of a shower. Time was slipping through her fingers.

She threw on a dress, skipped breakfast, and rushed outside, her bag half-open, papers sticking out. The streets were already alive with honking cars, people rushing, voices blending into a morning symphony of chaos. Anna ran, weaving between strangers, her heels clicking against the pavement. She could practically feel the clock chasing her.

Just as she darted across the road, a horn blared. She froze. A car screeched to a halt just inches away. Her heart pounded wildly, fear gripping her throat. She cursed the driver under her breath . She wanted to fight but she didn't because she haven't had the time and ran off . Inside the car came out a dashing handsome young man staring at the clumsy girl running hardly with her life and suddenly he felt a joy in his heart " oh she didn't see me and that mean I don't want to give her compensation" he said to himself and smiled softly.

Finally, Anna reached the office, flushed and breathless. The meeting room door loomed ahead. She smoothed her hair, straightened her dress, and pushed the door open.

Inside, the atmosphere was calm and formal—such a contrast to the storm inside her. Colleagues sat around the table, their attention fixed on the man standing near the board. His presence was commanding, quiet yet undeniable. His sharp eyes swept across the room, and for a brief second, they landed on Anna. And he identified her

It was the first time she saw Lan.

And though Anna would never admit it, something in her chest shifted—like the faintest crack in glass.
