Chapter 141 - Chapter 141: Gid’s Approval

Chapter 141: Gid's Approval

After checking his own status, Franklin grinned. So this… this is what it means to be strong. It felt as if a single full-powered punch could blow up Blue Star itself.

Suppressing the excitement and chaos in his chest, Franklin flashed to Eve's side. Their eyes met — Franklin gave her a faint smile. His divine sense instantly spread outward, his perception of spiritual energy expanding to its absolute limit.

The next moment, Franklin vanished. In the blink of an eye, he reappeared ten thousand meters above the ground.

Up here, a strange fluctuation of spiritual energy rippled in the air. Franklin clenched his fist and threw a punch toward empty space. The sky trembled — the very air distorted from the impact.

A spaceship, hidden nearby by cloaking technology, suddenly malfunctioned. With one swift motion, Franklin tore open its hull and dragged out a small green-skinned creature, barely a meter tall.

Feeling the gazes from below, Franklin stepped on the air and descended back to the ground. The green creature he held was already unconscious, crushed under the immense pressure from Franklin's descent.

"Wait — that's Lacaspo?!"

Recognizing the figure, Lala's surprise confirmed Franklin's suspicion. Tossing the creature to the ground, Franklin looked up at the golden-haired girl floating in the air.

"Eve, I'm guessing this is your employer. Why don't you come down and talk? You can see for yourself who I am and what I can do. You won't be able to take my life — and right now, you're not my match anyway."

Eve's pupils contracted slightly. That name — Lacaspo — was something she had kept secret. Other than a few trusted people, almost no one should have known it.

She said nothing. Her white wings spread, and in the next instant, she landed softly near Franklin and Lala.

High above, Zastin received a signal. He gave Franklin a respectful nod before leaving the area.

Franklin conjured a stream of water energy and poured it over Lacaspo's head. The green creature jolted awake and scrambled to his feet. Upon seeing the people around him, he immediately jumped back and glared at Franklin with a dark, twisted expression.

"Golden Darkness! I hired you to kill Franklin — what are you doing?! You're eating his food, sparing his life at every turn! This isn't what we agreed on!"

"Mr. Lacaspo," Eve said coldly, stepping closer, "I made it clear before accepting your commission — I require accurate information about the target. The data you gave me… was it all just your imagination?"

Being confronted head-on, Lacaspo's green face somehow turned even greener. His glare shifted back to Franklin as his voice grew more shrill.

"I told you the truth! He's forcing Lala to accept him as her fiancé! He plans to seize Deviluke itself! He's a vile man — he must be eliminated!"

Ranting and raving, Lacaspo turned back toward Eve.

"I'm your client! I paid you! Kill him now!"

At this point, his words were barely coherent. Eve's face darkened further, her patience slipping.

"I told you — I require verified information. Your story is full of holes. The mission will be suspended until I decide whether to continue or not."

As the argument unfolded, several figures appeared in flashes of light — the Deviluke King himself, along with Mikan, Momo, and Nana.

"D–D–Deviluke King!"

Lacaspo froze on the spot, completely petrified.

Franklin was about to deactivate his Super Saiyan form when Gid stopped him with a hand gesture. The king turned his gaze to the trembling green creature.

"Hey, brat. What exactly did you mean by those words? Are you saying the people of Deviluke are idiots?"

"I–I–I didn't mean it that way…"

"Oh? Then are you saying that I let Franklin become Lala's fiancé because I'm blind?"

"N-no, Your Majesty! I didn't mean that either!"

Lacaspo's expression was pitiful — close to tears — but Gid had no intention of letting him off easily. He waved his hand lazily, and in an instant, Zastin reappeared, grabbing the little alien and locking him in place.

"Charge him with insulting the royal family and slandering the name of the Deviluke King. Lock him up and see how much his father's willing to pay for his release.

And make sure to go high — their family's only talent is being filthy rich. Every last spirit stone we squeeze out of them goes straight to Franklin."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

Zastin bowed slightly and vanished, taking Lacaspo with him.

Ignoring everyone else, Gid stepped directly in front of Franklin, carefully examining him from head to toe.

"The Saiyan bloodline… so it really can multiply power fiftyfold instantly. I see now — you must have known about this earlier. That's why you suspected the Ice Demon prodigy's target was me.

If someone like that could transform three times — and each time boost their power fiftyfold — even I wouldn't be able to handle it. But that's clearly impossible."

After a thorough inspection, Gid finally withdrew his gaze, looking impressed.

"You're impressive. The Saiyans who came to Blue Star before didn't have that kind of ability — they were easy to deal with.

Your next target is the Ice Demon prodigy, Frieza. I'll be waiting for your results. The sooner you deal with him, the greater your reward will be."

Seeing Gid's approving expression, Franklin let out a quiet sigh of relief. "I won't slack off — I'll finish the mission as quickly as possible."

Gid nodded in satisfaction. "Good. You can power down now — you're nearly out of spiritual energy."

After saying that, his eyes swept across the gathered girls, then returned to Franklin with a faint, knowing smile.

"You kid… you've got some nerve. Anyway, I'll head out. I still don't fully trust Zastin to handle things right — I'll feel better doing it myself."

Mikan hurriedly stepped forward. "Um, Uncle… you're not leaving Blue Star just yet, right?"

Gid chuckled. "Not for now. I'll take care of the mess Zastin left behind. As for when I'll leave, I'll let you know in advance. You don't need to worry about souvenirs for Sephie — the thought alone is enough."

Mikan bowed deeply, and in the next instant, Gid disappeared from sight.

Silence followed. Deep, lingering silence. The group of girls exchanged uncertain glances — no one spoke.

At last, Franklin broke the stillness.

"Eve, that assassination job… it's over now, right?"

With her employer arrested, Eve seemed momentarily dazed. Then Franklin's familiar tone reached her ears, and she froze, unsure how to respond.

"Whether it's over or not doesn't matter," Franklin said gently. "For now, just stay here on Blue Star. I'll help you find Tearju."

The instant those words left his mouth, Eve's pupils contracted sharply. Her entire expression turned cold.

"The assassination isn't over," she said flatly. "I received full payment — and if you ever become that kind of monster he described, I'll come for you again."
