Chapter 107: First Encounter with Momo
After a long moment, their lips parted. Lala's face was flushed red as she grabbed Franklin's hand and pulled him upstairs. The sudden move caught Bulma completely off guard, and since Franklin didn't resist, he was practically dragged along as Lala took off with him.
A loud thud followed as the bedroom door slammed shut, leaving Bulma completely shut out.
"Franklin wouldn't lose control, would he? Could Lala really be that impatient? No… that's impossible. If something really happens, that's not something you can just brush off as a moment of impulse."
Hearing no sound at all from the room, Bulma hesitated for a long while before deciding to open the door — just in case those two did something they shouldn't.
But when she entered, the room was completely empty, which left her momentarily stunned. As someone who had already reached the mid Foundation Establishment stage, Bulma released her divine sense, instantly scanning every detail of the room.
She quickly noticed two strange spots — a full-length mirror and an odd-looking door.
When she tried to extend her divine sense into them, she was immediately blocked out. Not giving up, Bulma approached the strange mirror in Lala's room.
She stared at her own reflection in the mirror and cautiously reached out to touch it. The moment her fingers made contact, a sudden suction force pulled her in completely.
When she opened her eyes, Bulma was shocked to find herself standing on a vast plain. Strange and bizarre creatures scurried past her feet, and hovering above in the sky was a massive black double-cone structure — towering, grand, and strangely ethereal.
As she stood frozen in disbelief, two pink-haired girls emerged from the nearby woods.
"This is as far as we can go. It's just a projection, but as a medium, it'll let us interfere with both worlds. Since that beast is so strong, let's see how he handles starting from zero."
"Come on, Nana, don't say it like that. If he passes the test, he might actually become big sister's husband someday. We shouldn't be too harsh."
Nana frowned. "This was your idea to begin with, and now you're trying to act like the good one? You're so annoying—take this!"
Their playful squabbling snapped Bulma out of her daze. When she finally saw their hair color and faces, she froze again.
The two girls noticed her as well — standing at the exit of the subspace — and both were stunned for a moment.
Bulma was the first to react. She tried to run back toward the exit, but a wave of dizziness hit her. Her vision went black, and she collapsed unconscious.
"Momo, what do we do? I think she heard our plan."
"It doesn't matter. We'll just seal off this part of her memory. Once everything's over, we can restore it."
Meanwhile, inside Lala's research lab, in a quiet corner where she kept a small bed for resting, Lala herself was pinned beneath Franklin.
"Lala, I know you want to awaken your Origin Race bloodline, but… we really can't do something like that right now. It's a matter of the Deviluke royal family's honor."
Having gathered all her courage just to be rejected outright, Lala's excitement instantly deflated.
Feeling her emotions sink, Franklin chuckled softly and ruffled her hair.
"We've got a long time ahead of us together. We can't throw it all away on a moment's impulse. Isn't your father coming to Earth soon? Once he comes and goes, we can bring this up again. How's that sound?"
Franklin's words reminded Lala, instantly lifting her mood. "You're right, Lin. I'll wait. Otherwise, Dad would probably take me back right away."
Seeing her smile return, Franklin let out a quiet sigh of relief. Then he suddenly remembered Bulma — the very reason they'd ended up in this situation in the first place. When he opened the door, he found Bulma peacefully asleep on Lala's bed.
Although it seemed strange, Franklin probed her with his divine sense and found nothing unusual. When he called her softly, she just turned over and kept sleeping, so he didn't think much of it.
After dinner, Bulma was still asleep, and Lala went back to her lab to continue working. Franklin sat cross-legged in meditation, sparring with You Wange in his mind — exchanging sword techniques and quiet thoughts.
Suddenly, a chill ran down his spine. Franklin's eyes snapped open — and he found a familiar yet unfamiliar face right in front of him.
A black, tail-like appendage was pressing toward his forehead. Acting on instinct, Franklin grabbed it — and the sound of a startled gasp echoed through the room.
He froze for a second, then quickly pinned down the intruder's arms and tail above her head, pressing her against the bed.
As his mind cleared and he got a better look — short pink bobbed hair and a tail — realization hit him.
His two sisters-in-law had supposedly "run away from home" a few days ago. So they had come to Earth.
"You're Momo? Why are you this close to me — and sneaking around, no less?"
Caught off guard at being recognized, Momo blinked, then puffed out her cheeks.
"Since Franklin recognized me, doing something this rude… maybe I should tell big sister about it?"
Her expression all but said, If you don't get off me, I'll tell Lala you bullied me.
Franklin just gave a short laugh and ignored her.
"I'm not sure you're really Momo. That bet's still in play — and if some random alien impersonated you to attack me, that'd be a ridiculous way to lose. I know transformation techniques too, you know."
Forming a quick hand seal, Franklin instantly transformed — into Lala.
Seeing Momo's startled reaction, Franklin (in Lala's form) teasingly lifted her chin.
"If you really are Momo, then getting teased by your big sister shouldn't be a big deal, right? So, how are you going to prove who you are? If you can't, I'll just have to keep you restrained until Lala confirms it herself."
Pinned beneath him in such a humiliating position, Momo's face turned bright red. She wanted to lash out, but Franklin's reasoning left her trapped — he wasn't wrong, after all.
She should've just used the consciousness transmitter right away… now it was too late.
Suddenly, an idea struck her. She glared at Franklin angrily.
"You want me to prove who I am? I can't. But Lala and Bulma's consciousnesses were already sent into the virtual world. I came here to bring you in too. If you don't go soon, they'll both be in danger — when your mind dies in there, your body dies too!"
Franklin shook his head calmly. "If you're really Momo, you'd never do anything that could hurt Lala."
Momo puffed her cheeks again. "You were part of the plan! Lala's perfectly safe — but now that you're not in the system, she's on her own."
Realizing that the girl beneath him really was Momo, Franklin's expression finally turned serious.
"Where's the consciousness transmitter?"
