Chapter 66: The Divine Throw Technique?
Just as Franklin thought about surveillance, he suddenly felt an unusual gaze. Looking around carefully, he found nothing out of the ordinary.
At once, his divine sense spread out — with the school building as the center, the surrounding five hundred meters were projected into his mind.
He saw four girls gathered on the rooftop, chatting happily, each wearing a sincere smile.
He had expected Risa Momioka to be lashing out at him, but unexpectedly, the four seemed to have truly become good friends.
As he narrowed his focus further, his attention finally fixed inside the classroom. On Rin Kujō's chest brooch, Franklin noticed something — a microscopic camera at the nanometer level.
When his divine sense magnified it, he clearly saw the mark of the Universal Capsule Corporation on its components.
Far away in the suburbs, Bulma was watching with a gossip-loving smile as Franklin helplessly faced Saki Tenjōin's endless questions. His expression of resignation made her chuckle slightly.
"Since I can't stop you from liking other pretty girls, I might as well be the one to arrange them. That way, I'll still be the boss.
Once everyone's gathered, in the forest or anywhere else, Franklin — when the time comes, how will you choose? I'll be at a disadvantage, but that's fine."
Just as she was thinking that, Bulma saw Franklin suddenly smile warmly and look directly toward the camera. At first she thought it was a coincidence, but the more she looked, the more it seemed like Franklin had already discovered her little trick.
At that moment, in Franklin's location, Saki Tenjōin glanced oddly at him, then at Rin Kujō — who was trying hard to look calm but was about to lose it.
"Um, Lin-kun, what are you looking at? Are you staring at Rin's chest?"
Reminded by her words, Franklin finally realized what he had just done.
"Uh—sorry, Kyōjō-san, right? I wasn't looking at your chest just now. I was looking at—"
A loud bang! interrupted him as a hand slammed onto his desk.
"Franklin, you've repeatedly violated school rules. In a place meant for learning, you're constantly flirting with multiple girls — a terrible influence!
Yesterday you even skipped class, and worse, you destroyed part of the school building and the field. Even if they've been repaired, the fact remains.
And now, you were ogling Kyōjō-san's chest right in front of everyone! As the disciplinary committee member, I can no longer tolerate this. Come with me."
At first, Franklin was a bit annoyed at being interrupted, but after hearing that, he realized that, well, this time it really was all his fault.
Feeling helpless, he gave a small apologetic smile to the two girls, then quickly followed Yui Kotegawa out of the classroom.
Rin Kujō frowned, glancing at her brooch — she'd already guessed what Franklin had actually been looking at.
"Um, Rin," Saki Tenjōin said softly, "I think Lin-senpai didn't mean it. He's not that kind of person. Don't take it to heart."
Rin shook her head slightly. "Of course I know that. We were all saved by him — I trust his character completely."
Following Yui Kotegawa into the hallway, Franklin hurried after her, still thinking about how to explain. But Yui suddenly stopped walking, and in that instant of surprise, Franklin's mind blanked for a moment.
Because he always had to carefully control his strength, that tiny lapse made him accidentally bump into her. To avoid damaging the building — and to keep from hurting her — Franklin let go of all control and let his body's reflexes take over.
When his vision cleared again, he saw Yui's face flushed red with fury as she glared at him.
His leg was pressed right between her thighs, and one of his hands rested squarely on her chest.
Seeing the slow-motion slap coming his way, Franklin sighed lightly and chose not to resist.
Reflecting on that sudden lapse, he found it odd — with his cultivation already at the peak of the Foundation Establishment stage and his body at the peak of the First Origin realm, how could he have blanked out even for a second? Could it be that Yuuki Rito's "Divine Throw Technique" rule had somehow transferred to him?
The powerful slap landed squarely on his face. To keep from injuring Yui's hand, Franklin cooperated and let himself be sent flying backward.
When he got back up, he saw Rin Kujō and Saki Tenjōin standing frozen in the classroom doorway, utterly dumbfounded by what they had just witnessed.
Yui herself couldn't believe that her slap had such power — Franklin had been sent flying, yet her hand barely hurt.
But as soon as she thought about his earlier position, embarrassment surged again. Fuming, she stomped back into the classroom, forgetting completely what she'd originally wanted to say to him.
Seeing this, Franklin let out a small sigh of relief. Whatever happened, he'd gotten off easy. Glancing at Rin and Saki, who were still too stunned to move, he gently patted their shoulders before walking back inside as well.
The moment he entered, he felt a chill — Yui was staring daggers at him.
"I'll be watching you closely. Don't even think about breaking school discipline again."
Franklin could only give a wry smile. Behind him, Rin and Saki finally followed inside, but their dazed expressions showed they were still in shock.
Franklin simply closed his eyes and pretended not to notice. After all, he still wasn't sure where he stood with those two — better to just let things be.
When classes finally ended, Franklin's spiritual energy was fully restored. Lala was also growing fonder of school life, getting along well with both the boys and girls in class.
That night, just after dinner, Franklin sensed someone entering the yard. Extending his divine sense, he identified them — Saki Tenjōin, Rin Kujō, and Fujisaki Aya.
This time Rin wasn't wearing her brooch. It seemed the three had planned this on their own.
"Lin-senpai was acting way too strange today," Saki whispered. "He was so weak. We have to find out what's going on. Rin, Aya — are you ready?"
"Yeah, I'm ready too. I'm really curious. I think it must have something to do with that girl Lala who suddenly appeared. Ever since she showed up, Lin-senpai's been acting weird."
"Um, shouldn't we go back? Sneaking into someone's house like this doesn't seem right…"
Both Saki and Rin turned to glare at Aya. "Shut up and move!"
In the bathroom, the lights were on, and laughter could be heard — Mikado-sensei's sister Mikan and Lala were bathing together, while Ryōko Mikado herself had gone down to the underground lab.
Franklin appeared silently in front of the three girls. Vines suddenly shot out, covering their mouths and wrapping around them, then lifted them into the air and carried them into the second-floor bedroom. Franklin followed right behind.
"So," Franklin said calmly, "when exactly did you all meet me? When did you decide to come looking for me? And where's Bulma? What exactly are you trying to do?"
His rapid questions finally brought the three back from their stunned state after being bound.
"Lin-senpai," Saki stammered, "so you weren't weakened? Then how on earth did Yui Kotegawa's slap send you flying today?"
