Chapter 69 - Chapter 69 The Shackled Demon King

In the blink of an eye, Gwen's yellow Corolla had disappeared from Anna's sight.

Just as the yellow Corolla vanished, the fiery red sports car Gwen had seen earlier approached from afar and came to a smooth stop in front of Anna.

Anna's expression returned to its refined and cold demeanor.

The burly man in black who was driving the car got out.

"Take it to the base."

"Understood."

Anna took out the sunglasses clipped to her chest, put them on, handed the briefcase containing 400 milliliters of Hawke's blood to the burly man in black, and then got into the sports car.

The next second.

The sports car roared and instantly disappeared from the burly man in black's sight.

The burly man in black expressionlessly picked up the briefcase and turned to walk into the port.

A while later.

Anna, who had already left the port area, made a phone call.

The call was answered.

"Anna."

"Sir, the deal is done, but there was a small mishap."

"What mishap?"

"Gwen Stacy is here too."

"Hmm?"

The voice on the other end of the phone seemed surprised, then recovered: "It seems he really cares about Gwen Stacy."

Anna nodded: "Yes, sir."

Just then,a third person's voice came from the other end of the phone, with a hint of arrogance.

"Sir, then why don't we use Gwen…"

"Shut up."

"No."

Anna's objection and the officer's objection on the other end of the phone were almost simultaneous.

The third person was obviously stunned, but after the officer on the other end of the phone told him to get out, he didn't dare to say anything more and quickly left with his footsteps.

After the third person left, the officer's voice on the other end of the phone rang again.

"Anna, tell me your reasons for objecting."

"Sir, there are only two possibilities for Hawke to bring Gwen out: either he's an idiot, or he's very confident, but I don't believe he's an idiot. After all, after talking to us, he guessed that we were…"

Anna stopped there.

Even though their organization was the king of the internet, and no one could eavesdrop on their conversations over the phone, it was never too much to be cautious about such a prestigious organization.

The officer on the other end of the line seemed to have thought of something and then chuckled.

"Pass the word down: don't take any action against Gwen Stacy. Our relationship with Hawke is quite good right now."

"And..."

"When a demon lord willingly puts on shackles, then everyone's best not to touch those shackles, otherwise only the most terrifying demon lord will be released."

"Of course, we shouldn't touch them."

"So..."

"Keep it up, Anna. At least for now, our cooperation is going very well."

"Understood."

Anna nodded, and after reporting to her superior, she hung up the phone and focused on driving her sports car towards Manhattan.

In the opposite direction from Manhattan, Gwen was also driving her yellow Corolla, with Hawke in the back, speeding towards Lake Culver.

Gwen glanced at Hawke, who had gotten into the car and was sitting in the passenger seat with his eyes closed, and felt a little curious.

"What are you doing?"

"Conserving my energy."

Hawke kept his eyes closed. "Get yourself in shape. The Hulk isn't so easy to kill."

It's not just because the Hulk possesses powerful regenerative abilities, but also because he has a major plot hole.

The angrier he gets, the stronger he becomes.

And theoretically, the Hulk is also immortal. Iron Man snapped his fingers and died instantly, but the Hulk only lost an arm.

To be precise, it's not exactly lost, just injured and needs time to recover.

Fortunately, this isn't the comic book universe, but the cinematic universe.

So Hulk can still be killed.

Thanos almost succeeded; if Hulk hadn't been transported back to Earth by the Bifrost, he probably would have been killed.

But Thanos beat Hulk so badly he lost all his temper, and no matter how Bruce Banner called out to him, Hulk wouldn't come out.

So the comic book setting where the angrier you are, the stronger you become seems to be invalid.

Hawk recalled information about Hulk in his mind.

Gwen, thinking about some Hulk-related information she had found online these past few days, nodded in agreement and looked at Hawk.

"Then we…"

"He must die."

Hawk opened his eyes, turned his head to look at Gwen who was driving, and said with a smile, "He's just hard to kill, not impossible."

The way to kill Hulk is actually very simple.

Overwhelm him from the beginning and end the battle in a crushing way.

Don't give Hulk even a chance to get angry.

Gwen didn't speak, but looked at Hawk with a worried expression.

Hawke met Gwen's gaze, then chuckled as if struck by a thought.

"Actually, I did consider another way to kill the Hulk."

"What?"

"Kidnap Betty Ross, and make Bruce Banner obediently accept his fate."

"...Hawk!"

Gwen's eyes widened at Hawke's suggestion.

Hawke smiled slightly: "But I abandoned that idea later."

Gwen breathed a sigh of relief, but looked at Hawke with some curiosity.

"Why?"

"The one who starts it all will have no descendants,"

Hawke explained, addressing Gwen. "Besides, every wrong has its perpetrator, every debt its debtor. It was the Hulk and Abomination who killed my sister, not anyone else. If I take my anger out on others, how am I any different from them?"

That's what he thought, and that's what he did.

Hawke remained steadfast in his principles.

Revenge was revenge, but he would never, and would not, let the flames of revenge cloud his judgment.

"Of course!"

Hawke paused, then smiled at Gwen and said, "You want me to be a kind person with a clear conscience, so I don't want to, and I don't need to, rely on such underhanded tactics to get the result I want. I will tell him why I came, and he will know why he died."

Gwen looked at Hawke, whose expression and demeanor were full of confidence, and smiled slightly as well.

"I believe you, Hawke."

"Thank you."

Hawke smiled and said, "After I kill Hulk, we can be with Mary and…"

Gwen quickly interrupted.

"Hawk!"

"What is it?"

"Don't plant flags randomly, you said it."

"…Okay, my mistake."

Hawke looked at Gwen, who was seriously stopping him from planting flags, and wisely chose to admit his mistake.

Then, under Gwen's gaze, he made a zipping motion to his mouth.

Gwen smiled with satisfaction, then looked away and continued driving towards Lake Culver.

Two o'clock in the afternoon.

Above a private airport thirty kilometers north of Lake Culver.

A Gulfstream private jet with "Stark Industries" emblazoned on its fuselage descended from the clouds, lowering its landing gear!
