Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 Tonight, the universe will shine for him.

After Hawke left the old gymnasium, he walked towards the parking lot.

He didn't know what was happening behind him.

However, even if he knew, he would not care.

Although Spider-Man is known as the number one IP character in American comics, to be honest, Hawke is not familiar with Peter.

Even though he and Peter are in the same grade.

When Hawke came to the parking lot with a shoulder bag on his back, the door of the last orange school bus had already opened.

A driver with a big beard and wearing a school uniform was bored lying on the steering wheel, fiddling with a portable radio.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Hall." Hawke got in the car and greeted politely: "Any special news today?"

Mr. Hall, with his big beard, looked extremely fierce.

But in fact, Mr. Hall is not fierce.

  On the contrary.

  He is a good person.

"Still hearing about the Quantico building collapse.

Rumor has it it was a terrorist attack." Mr. Hall, fiddling with his radio, watched Hawke board the bus. He checked his watch and said, "Hawk, you're two minutes later today than yesterday."

  Hawke shrugged.

"Sorry, I was delayed showering today."

"Thank goodness I know you ride home every day, otherwise I'd just drive to the school gate. Sit tight, we're off."

  "Okay,"

Hawke said politely, shouldering his backpack and heading back.

Mr. Hall had already started the car, preparing to close the door and head to the school gate to pick someone up.

  Just then,

Peter darted out from a distance, squeezing in from outside just as the bus doors were about to close.

Mr. Hall was startled.

  "Gross..."

Perhaps realizing it wouldn't be polite to swear, Mr. Hall bit back the words on the tip of his tongue. He looked at Peter, panting as he squeezed in, then at Flash Thompson and the other four, who were also running outside.

Flash Thompson and his henchmen didn't get on the bus. Instead, they stood outside, watching Peter board.

Mr. Hall glanced between Peter and Flash Thompson, then frowned at Flash Thompson, "Hey, are you guys getting on?"

Flash Thompson glanced at Mr. Hall, but said nothing.

He simply turned and left with his three henchmen, angrily.

Bullying a classmate is one thing, but bullying in front of school staff is another.

  He's a bully, not a fool.

Peter wasn't stupid either, so after Mr. Hall closed the bus door, he thanked him.

Mr. Hall glanced at Peter, but said nothing.

He understood what was going on, but as long as the bullying didn't happen on his bus, it was fine.

  As for other places?

He was just the bus driver, not in control of it, and it wasn't his responsibility.

Peter didn't say anything else. Instead, he turned around, trying to find a seat.

He saw Hawke sitting in the back, by the window.

After a moment's thought, he walked over.

  "Thank you." "

  ..."

Hawke, lost in thought, staring out the window, thinking that the early morning would be the next day, came to his senses. He looked at Peter standing before him with a blank expression:

"I didn't do you any good, so you don't have to thank me."

He returned his gaze to the window, ignoring Peter.

He didn't know if Peter had mutated yet.

It was likely that he hadn't transformed into the spider spirit he remembered.

But even if Peter had mutated, he didn't want to deal with him.

More precisely, he didn't want to deal with any superheroes.

Superheroes sounded appealing, but in reality, they were closely linked to all sorts of disasters.

Before he got the cheat, he had never considered rushing to deal with them.

He just wanted to live longer, to be reborn, and at least live to a ripe old age.

If possible, he would study hard, strive for progress, and live a carefree life.

Even with the cheats now live, Hawke's original intention remained unchanged.

It was just that from initially wanting to live a carefree life, it had become, if possible, wanting to live longer and live a more carefree life.

But regardless of which goal it was, the prerequisite for achieving it remained the same:stay out of the messy affairs of superheroes.

So, even after he started school and learned about Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy, he had no intention of actively getting to know them.

  But Gwen was different.

There was no way around it.

Gwen was their eleventh-grade student assistant, but dating Gwen Stacy, the widely acknowledged "No. 1 Girlfriend in American Comics"?

Hawke had no such thoughts, at least not yet.

He wasn't in a position to be in a relationship yet.

Peter watched Hawke, who had said this and turned back to the scenery, open his mouth to say something more, but on second thought, he chose to keep quiet and slid into the right seat.

Soon, the school bus arrived at the school gates.

As Mr. Hall opened the door, the students waiting outside for the last free bus began to board.

The originally quiet atmosphere in the car quickly became noisy.

An hour later, they arrived at Jackson Heights.

Mr. Hall opened the car door and smiled goodbye to Hawke, who was already standing at the door.

  "See you tomorrow, Hawke."

  "See you tomorrow, Mr. Hall."

Hawke also said goodbye politely. After getting off the school bus, he walked towards a five-story old apartment building with a mottled orange exterior not far away.

This old apartment building was owned by the New York City Housing Authority.

Hawke's apartment was on the fifth floor. Although it was not large, it had one advantage: he could easily access the apartment's rooftop via the emergency staircase outside the window.

  Soon,

Hawke returned home, put his backpack on the table, took out the plastic bag of laundry from the backpack, found two clothes drying racks, opened the window, and went up the emergency staircase outside to the apartment's rooftop.

After hanging his clothes on the rooftop, Hawke walked to the guardrail, his hands resting on it as he looked up at the planes that occasionally flew by, bound for or taking off from nearby LaGuardia Airport.

He enjoyed the breeze while counting the planes.

This was one of his few hobbies for relaxation.

But he had recently added a new one:stargazing!

 Night fell.

Sitting on the floor against the apartment's ventilation shaft behind him, Hawke enjoyed the summer breeze as he gazed up at the starry sky that appeared after dusk.

  The sky was vast.

  A riot of stars.

  Perhaps it was an illusion.

Since six months ago, Hawke had felt a connection to the vastness of the sky as he consistently pumped his fists 10,000 times a day.

Today, the feeling was even stronger.

Constellations that had seemed blurry to the naked eye last night were now exceptionally clear.

  Pegasus!

  Draco!

  Aves

  ! Andromeda!

  Phoenix!

  ...

  Lacerta!

  ...

The forty-eight constellations symbolizing the forty-eight Bronze Saints. In Hawke's eyes,it seemed as if,tonight, the entire universe would shimmer for him! !
