Darkness. Silence.
That was all he saw, floating in infinite darkness for days; no, maybe months or years.
He'd had enough. He'd forgotten his name, his existence. He'd begun to think this was divine torture.
In infinite darkness, where loneliness reigned, any living being would become delirious in just a few hours. But this boy was different.
Kaito narrowed his eyes. He was bored. Very bored.
He searched his memories. Looking for some form of entertainment, until he remembered something.
What happened before he reached that empty place.
A house. Children playing and smiling, with innocent happiness... Then, he remembered what he liked most.
A television, several animes playing while a boy smiled. It was Kaito.
The Z Fighters flying while the Saiyans transformed into Super Saiyan.
Thousands of clones of a yellow-haired boy surrounding a pale-skinned woman with white eyes.
A pink-haired boy fighting a strange, four-armed being. Black and red sparks flashed in his hands.
A bald man in a cape sending a "deity" flying with a single punch.
A white-haired man leaping, the moonlight shining, as he faced a sapphire-blue dragon.
A small smile tugged at his lips as he remembered those happy moments.
When-
A light.
Small, almost imperceptible.
It appeared in the infinite darkness that had surrounded him for years.
His eyes, accustomed to the darkness, quickly narrowed, trying to get used to the appearance of that glow.
The glow expanded. Slowly, but noticeably.
Kaito, no longer caring what happened to him after so much time alone, touched the light.
The light enveloped him, his body shrank. Before, he was 15 years old. Now... he looked 6.
He felt something change inside him. A fusion. His black hair transformed; from black to vibrant red.
His yellow eyes shone brightly as he disappeared from the darkness that had imprisoned him for years.
He opened his eyes abruptly, breathing heavily, as he looked around with caution and suppressed emotion.
A bed. A nightstand. A closet. A lamp. A door...
Yes, it was what Kaito thought, a room, a real room after so many years.
Then, memories flooded him; no, they returned.
A village vibrant with energy. The sea air mixed with the atmosphere. Endless blue seas.
But what he remembered most was a sign. A whirlpool. The sign of the Uzumaki, from the world of Naruto.
He remembered it; An extinct clan, formed by the alliance between three Shinobi villages, unknown in their home world, but there were theories that they were Kumogakure, Kirigakure, and Iwagakure.
The Uzumaki; and he was one of them now.
But that wasn't the issue now; he had transmigrated, and was now in Naruto's world. A world filled with danger and supernatural powers.
The mere thought excited him; exciting fights, incredible jutsus, bloodline-limiting techniques...
Knock, knock.
A knock on the door brought him back to reality. He got up and opened the door.
A red-haired girl greeted him, holding a basket of fruit. She was about the same age as him: 6.
"Kaito! I'm glad you're okay! You worried me a lot, you know? I heard you fainted from training too hard yesterday!" The girl spoke, a smile on her lips.
"Oh, sorry for worrying you, Hako-san," Kaito replied, apologetically, though he was deep in thought inside.
"This girl... I saw her in my memories; she was a friend of mine, wasn't she?"
Coming out of his memories, Kaito accepted the fruit basket with a polite smile.
"Well, I'll take my leave, Kaito," Hako said, an innocent smile playing on her lips.
She left, closing the door behind her.
Kaito began to eat the fruit, although distracted.
Ways to get stronger.
It was all Kaito thought about, and it was the most important thing to survive in this world of cruelty and blood.
After eating the fruit basket, almost without realizing it, he thought about ways to extract and refine chakra in the anime he watched in his past life: Naruto.
"What is chakra?" Chakra is the combined vital/physical and spiritual/mental energy.
Vital/physical energy comes from the body's cells, muscles, organs, and vitality. It can be improved through training.
Mental/spiritual energy is more difficult; it cannot be trained, at least that's what he knows; he believes it can only be increased through talent, bloodline, or it will have to be through experience, emotions, and willpower. It also increases the user's potential and their learning capacity.
Now, how to extract chakra is simple, although difficult for some. Simply concentrate on the body and focus the mind, then merge them and get used to it until it becomes as natural as breathing. Although if you put too much pressure on the body, it can cause injury, and conversely, if you put pressure on the mind, it can be damaged.
In short, you just need balance, stability, and control. It's difficult, yes, but Kaito isn't normal; he's a transmigrator and, above all, an Uzumaki.
The Uzumaki have always been known as masters of sealing, their abnormal physical energy, and their secret arts like the Adamantine Sealing Chains, and their various bloodline limit techniques, like the Mind's Eye of Kagura.
That gave them an advantage. A huge advantage.
Without further ado, he placed himself in the lotus position; it wasn't necessary, but it was the most stable pose he knew.
Then he began:
Focus on your body, relax. Steady posture, slow, deep breathing.
Mentally focus, stay calm.
Then-
Fuse them in a balanced way.
In the belly, a little below the navel.
Just a little, better safe than sorry, careful.
Press with both hands on the Hara and feel the internal vibration.
A warm energy appeared from his belly, his tenketsu activated, expelling chakra.
He didn't let the chakra go to waste; he tried to guide them with his tenketsu.
But—
He couldn't.
The chakra was too much, like a raging tsunami descending on an island.
He stopped drawing chakra; the amount his body was drawing was too vast to control.
But he had found it. A small balance. How to draw his chakra.
It's a bit easy, he thought. Maybe my spiritual energy is very high, so I have a greater learning capacity?
And it wasn't just that; his body was monstrous; in every sense.
Regeneration, physical fitness, physical potential, rapid environmental adaptation.
Even for an Uzumaki, he was abnormal.
He was...
A mutated Uzumaki?
