Chapter 1 - Blood Moon Duel

The forest lay silent under a swollen blood-red moon. Even the trees seemed to hold their breath, their twisted branches reaching out like claws. Somewhere between shadow and mist, two predators moved toward one another—drawn by instinct, hatred, and the hunger to rule.

From the north came Lucian, the wolf king. His fur shimmered silver in the moonlight, his eyes burning with primal fire. Each step shook the ground, as though the earth itself bowed to his rage

From the east came Selene, the vampire queen. Her cloak whispered across the fallen leaves, and her crimson eyes glowed like embers. Her fangs caught the moonlight as she smiled—cold, knowing, eternal.

The two met in a clearing where stone ruins still bore the scars of wars long forgotten.

You trespass, dog," Selene hissed, her voice like silk hiding a dagger.

"And you steal life from what is mine," Lucian growled, baring his fangs.

The air crackled. Then the duel began.

Lucian leapt first, his body exploding into a storm of fur and claws. Selene blurred into shadow, vanishing, reappearing at his flank with impossible speed. Claw met fang, shadow met fury, blood splattered across ancient stones.

The vampire's strikes were swift, precise—daggers in the dark. The wolf's attacks were wild, devastating—like thunder tearing the sky apart.

For hours—or perhaps mere heartbeats—they clashed. Neither yielded. The forest trembled with their wrath.

Finally, Selene's talons tore deep into Lucian's shoulder. He roared but did not fall. With one last surge, he bit down on her arm, his teeth sinking into immortal flesh. Both screamed—the vampire with fury, the wolf with triumph.

But as dawn's first light crept across the horizon, both combatants stumbled back, bloodied yet unbroken.

Selene's form dissolved into mist, retreating before the sun's bite. Lucian limped into the forest shadows, his breath ragged but defiant.

The battle ended, but not the war. Under the blood moon, a promise was written: Vampire and Wolf would fight until the world itself forgot the sound of silence.
