Chapter 1 - Awakening Ceremony {1}

Inside the stellar academy the vast Hall was packed with students half of the space occupied the stage, where in the middle was four professors standing surrounding the crystal talent awakening orb.

Among the crowded students a boy with an, shaggy black hair and light blue eyes his body postures looked miserable and dark circles could be seen looking close.

Karl's ears twitched slightly as the perverted murmurings of the other students could be slightly heard.

"What kind of Guardian do you think you'll would get?" One of a student asked, his friend answering with a perverted smile.

"I want an tall, Beautiful Guardian with that curves in her body." The boy answered his mind already drooling by the thought of it.

"Are you stupid? Even if you got one I'm sure she would abandon you immediately your not worthy for a Guardian like that."

His friend retorted scoffing in annoyance.

An guardian abandoning it's master was not strange, some would only return in their realm or in some strange cases they would remain on earth.

"Reynold Caezer, Next" The professor called.

The student who had been named shivered his legs trembled as he climbed the stage, Dozens of eyes watched him closely.

Every stare was like a weight of an mountain pressing against his back.

At the center of the stage, his trembling hand hovered inches above the Awakening Orb.

The sphere wasn't large barely the size of a ball but it pulsed faintly as he finally placed his palm against it, he squeezed his eyes shut silently wishing and praying for the best.

Slowly a light emerged, it wasn't very bright but it wasn't weak either smiles tugged the professor's lips.

"Not bad," Said the youngest professor a man in his thirties "For the academy to have even one commoner awaken a Guardian..."

The students starts murmuring to each other hearing a commoner awaken a guardian.

"Reynold is a commoner too bad it also seems an D-Rank Guardian if his in a normal family with reputation his future could have been brighter."

The students muttered to each other before shutting their mouth, as slowly his guardian emerged.

An mystical scene unfolds, slowly as a small person emerges it have a striking appearance thick eyebrows and crimson eyes, the long crimson hair and fierce aura it emitted didn't quite suit it's size.

It seemingly was only a kid because it had not reached it's Phase 2 or 3 once it did the guardian true appearance would be revealed.

"Ha…" Reynold's breathing turned ragged with excitement, his hands trembled as tears welled up. "I really… I really got an Guardian."

Karl observed from the crowd, his jaw tight he understood the severity of the awakening ceremony. those who failed to awaken would be at worse will be merely more than slaves in the mines working endlessly.

"If I really don't awaken one... my fate would be sealed." He felt anxiety as his chest tightens, but really the chances are low that only ten in a hundred would awaken.

He crossed his legs trying to steady, his pounding hearts, As slowly a system projected at the stage revealing what type of class Reynold got.

The professor lips curled up in a smile.

"Hmm, to think he would actually have an Resonance Core at B tier Good Good." The professor chuckled.

With a wave of his hand he dismissed the boy.

"Good go at the principal's office and wait there like the others." The student Reynold immediately nodded leaving with shaking hand and sweats.

Names continued to be called, each time anticipation filled the air. But reality struck hard half the students failed.

Dreams shattered, some cried, some sat frozen in silence. Others broke into despair. Even an E-rank Guardian was considered a blessing. As long as it reached Phase Two, its master's life would improve.

"Karl Peter."

The sound of his name sent a chill racing down his spine, but unlike the other students, Karl composed himself quickly and walked toward the stage with steady steps.

The last one are the orphans the last to be tested. Everyone knew this was their only chance.

The rest of the students are silents because all of them are orphan, that's why they are the last one that could have the chance to awaken.

"Place your hand on the orb." One of the professor instructed.

Karl hand trembled as he reached forward to the orb, countless possibilities flashed through his mind. The moment he felt the orb warmth spread across his skin.

But nothing happened.

After a grueling minutes finally a very small spark of light was emitted showing it's an

F-rank, the professor wasn't dissapointed but surprised.

"Hmm, To think an orphan would awaken." The professor said while the others agree with it muttering his quite fortunate.

Then without warning time frozed.

Karl's breath was caught in his throat, his body refuses to move an unknown force made him stuck in his place he couldn't move he felt as though like he is trapped inside his body on a third-person perspective of his own body.

"What the hell?!" The words formed in his mind but not in his mouth.

Through the haze, a figure emerged shrouded in fog, radiating a pressure so immense Karl's knees wanted to simply submit and kneel, the being's presence was overwhelming, its appearance shifting, neither man nor woman. Its power felt beyond comprehension easily above level 100.

The students and the professor was all frozen and the fact that the professor was at least level 30 and yet they stood frozen in time, also adding the fact that it seems the whole world had stopped.

A voice, neither a male or a female something between the two echoes in his ears.

"You carry an SSS-Rank Guardian Divine Sephora."

The words struck Karl like thunder.

"The first catastrophic disaster will soon arrive humanity's frontlines will fall for the first time in history."

Karl's mind reeled. An… SSS-Rank? Just hearing the term sent goosebumps racing down his arms his chest swelled with a storm of emotions fear, awe, excitement, dread.

"SSS-Rank? Not a single record in the history every it had happened..." The words formed in his mind not knowing what to do next.

But the weight of it pressed down on him like a mountain.

Catastrophe? What kind? The government swore the 30% corruption of the world was under control. Were they lying all along?

Before he could think further, reality snapped back.

Time flowed once more. the other students that are also orphan and professors blinked as if nothing had happened.

A system screen hovered before Karl

He looked up seeing an system screen floats.
