Tasha sat on the edge of the couch, her phone clutched in her hand.
She checked the screen for what felt like the hundredth time in the last hour.
No new messages. No missed calls.
Nothing.
She let out a frustrated breath and tossed the phone onto the cushion beside her, then immediately picked it back up again.
'Where is he?'
Liam had left this morning. Early. Without saying much, just that he had to go check the location in the red envelope that woman had given him. She hadn't pushed for details because, honestly, it wasn't really her business.
They were roommates. Kind of, She was staying here because she needed to hide from her uncle, and Liam was helping her out
But now the sun was setting, and he still wasn't home.
Tasha unlocked her phone again and stared at the empty screen.
No notifications.
She opened their text thread and looked at the last message she'd sent him hours ago.
*Tasha~ You good?*
He'd read it but hadn't responded.
