Chapter 37 - Chapter 36 Returning to Konoha

In a small seaside town in the Land of Iron, Hyuga Ranmo had just arrived at the beach when he saw Shizune standing outside the town.

She opened her arms to greet him, and Hyuga Ranmo rushed into her embrace: "Shizune-neechan!"

"Ranmo, I have good news for you.

The Third Shinobi World War is over.

The Land of Earth was the first to issue a public announcement to all countries, officially withdrawing from the Third Shinobi World War.

The war is over!"

Shizune's eyes welled up with tears of joy, and Hyuga Ranmo reached out to wipe them away.

"Don't cry, sister!"

"Mmm!"

Shizune nodded happily, but tears flowed uncontrollably.

"Thinking of my deceased loved ones, I can't hold back!"

After saying that, she wiped her eyes forcefully and picked Hyuga Ranmo up in her arms.

"Come on, let's go back to Konoha.

School is about to start, and you can already condense chakra.

Getting into the Ninja Academy shouldn't be a problem.

Come on, let's go back and register!"

Hyuga Ranmo nodded upon hearing this.

It seemed that her teachers, Kenichi and Alai, hadn't told her that she knew ninjutsu.

"Alright, let's go home!"

Back in the village, cheers erupted throughout the streets and alleys, everyone's face beaming with joy.

As soon as Shizune led Hinata Ayame into the village, he was embraced tightly.

Ayame, where have you been for the past six months?

We thought something had happened to you!

Thank goodness you're alright!"

Uzuki Yugao looked down at him, her face beaming with happiness.

Everyone was overjoyed; some danced in celebration, others returned to their villages to reunite with their families.

Everyone excitedly celebrated this historic moment!

Hinata Ayame, seeing this scene, also smiled happily!

In some ways, the end of the Third Shinobi World War was inevitable, and the Land of Earth's early withdrawal only hastened that outcome.

Sunagakure was already struggling to survive, Kirigakure was beset by internal and external troubles, Konoha suffered heavy losses from the Nine-Tails' attack, and Kumogakure was riddled with enemies and wounded.

The major powers, constantly at war, were in dire need of rest and recuperation.

With Iwagakure withdrawing from the Third Shinobi World War, the other four nations also announced a ceasefire, planning to sign a ceasefire agreement at an opportune time.

The war finally ended!

"April flowers bloom, evening glories rival morning glories, happy birthday, Yugao-neechan!"

On the street, Hyugao Ranmo presented a large bouquet of flowers hidden in a scroll to Uzuki Yugao, whose eyes shone with surprise.

Ranmo, you actually knew my birthday?"

Uzuki Yugao's cheeks flushed with joy as she took the flowers.

Shizune, seeing this, raised an eyebrow and ruffled Hyugao Ranmo's hair.

"Not bad, you've never given me flowers before!"

"Me too..."

"I've never received any either..."

In an instant, Inuzuka Hana and Ayame, who had come to greet him, all shouted.

"Alright, alright, I'll give them all another day!" Hyugao Ranmo laughed.

Just then, someone ran over, looked him over carefully, and then disappeared.

This person was Uchiha Izumi, a girl from the Uchiha clan who was the same age as Hyugao Ranmo.

She had a good relationship with Itachi Uchiha; he had even saved her life when the Nine-Tails attacked Konoha.

Soon after, she and Itachi arrived on the main street.

From a distance, she pointed in this direction and said something to Itachi.

He nodded slightly, then turned and disappeared.

Although Hyuga Ranmo's eyes were closed, his Mirror System was active, so he could sense everything happening on the street. Seeing this, he was surprised.

What was wrong with Itachi Uchiha?

That night, the full moon hung high in the sky.

After reporting to the Third Hokage, he returned to his residence.

He didn't know what Tsunade was busy with; he hadn't seen her since returning to the village.

Shizune had wanted him to stay with her, but she had gone out with friends for dinner that evening, and Hyuga Ranmo hadn't been home in a long time, so he went home early.

After taking a bath, he stood in the yard looking at the stars when suddenly a dark shadow swept past and landed on the wall of his house.

"Uchiha Itachi?"

Hyuga Ranmo whispered.

The other person didn't speak.

He seemed to have changed a lot in the past six months.

He looked down at Hyuga Ranmo in the courtyard, his eyes conflicted, then turned and disappeared, just like he had during the day—only to look and then leave?

Ranmo chased after him, and Uchiha Itachi quickened his pace, but he still followed behind.

The two left the village.

In the woods to the west, he finally stopped and turned to look at him.

"Itachi, even when you were silent before, you'd at least say something.

What's wrong this time?

We're not exactly friends, but we're not enemies either, are we?"

Hyuga Ranmo asked.

"What's wrong with you?"

After a long pause, the boy finally spoke, "Nothing, I've just been troubled by your disappearance these past six months!"

He sighed softly, turned, and sat down on a large rock.

Hyuga Ranmo came to his side, recalling his departure from Konoha, and suddenly understood.

He awkwardly asked, "You...you don't think I was...killed by your clan, do you?"

After all, he disappeared from the guards, and only a few people involved knew what happened in the Third Hokage's office afterward.

Others, including the Uchiha clan, didn't know.

Hyuga Ranmo was an orphan, and the Hyuga clan ignored him.

Although his relationship with Uchiha Itachi wasn't that good, they were the same age, and at least Itachi knew he existed and had been taken away by the guards.

After that, he suddenly disappeared and couldn't find any trace of him, so he suspected the guards might be involved.

After a long pause, Itachi Uchiha, sitting on the rock, finally nodded and sighed.

Hyuga Ranmo could imagine the torment Itachi had endured for the past six months, so he sat down beside him and laughed heartily.

After a long while, he reached out and patted Itachi's shoulder.

"My disappearance has nothing to do with your family. Don't overthink it, it's alright!"

At this moment, Hinata Ranmo didn't know how to explain the gratitude and embarrassment in his heart.

He was grateful for Itachi's concern, but embarrassed because he had caused a misunderstanding between Itachi and his clan.

Moreover, he noticed that even though he tried so hard to smile and liven up the atmosphere in front of Itachi, Itachi didn't smile.

There was something hidden in his eyes, that conflicted emotion stemming from his clan.

"Oh, don't think about it.

You're only six years old, why think so much?

We'll go to school to register tomorrow, cheer up?

Maybe we'll be in the same class.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

The Third Shinobi World War is over, and the village will be peaceful from now on.

How about you train hard and become a teacher? Being a teacher is great, you can play with lots of kids!"

Although the plot had progressed as expected, with Itachi sacrificing a lot for the village later on, Hinata Ranmo hoped he could change his son's mind, hoping he wouldn't have to bear too much of the Uchiha clan's burdens.

Whatever they did, he hoped it wouldn't concern him, and he hoped he could grow up happily.
