Morrigan's [Point of View]
Before me stood the man who was my world, his destiny blazing like a crown of fire and I knew I was already condemned to burn for him.
It was not my hand that destiny placed in his...but hers, sealing a bond that exiled me from his life before I could even beg to belong.
Yet my resolve did not waver.
Those eyes that once saw me as home now looked at me as the ashes of everything we might have been.
I chose to be the villain in your story.
Not because I was cast aside.
Not because I longed to be the damsel in distress who waits for rescue.
No...
I chose this path so that you could rise. So that you would have the strength to carry the weight of the world and a crown of glory to claim.
If hatred must drive you forward then let me be its fuel...the villain crowned in curses so the hero may rise.
So let us embrace the misery together, for I was never meant for a happy ending.
What joy could await an antagonist who razed the world, all because she loved a man?
Be the hero they will praise.
Let me remain the villain they will despise.
Do not turn your back to the crowd as your blade pierces my heart.
Do not let them see your tears as the villain falls at last.
You ask me, again and again, "Why? Why... why?"
And with my final breath, I only smile.
For the villain is always content with her end.
She will always choose ruin, no matter how many times you turn back time.
Because in the end, it is not the hero who decides how the story ends.
It is the villain.
