"Watch and see, lad," Bjorn said through the comm, his voice carrying that thick Viking accent that had grown familiar to Tatehan over the course of the battle.
Tatehan was in the middle of dodging a plasma blast when he glanced over at Bjorn, his visor tracking the Viking's movements even as he fought off three soldiers who were trying to flank him from the right.
Bjorn reached down and grabbed a sword from one of the dead soldiers scattered across the battlefield, the blade still crackling faintly with residual energy. He hefted it in his left hand, testing its weight, and then he raised it alongside the axe he was already holding in his right.
And then he brought them together.
The moment the two weapons touched, a burst of cloudy dust erupted from the point of contact, swirling outward in a sudden, violent explosion of light and energy. The dust obscured the weapons for a fraction of a second, and then it dissipated just as quickly, revealing what Bjorn was now holding.
