[Reid Mansion — Wedding Morning]
Alexander stood in front of the mirror, already dressed in his wedding tux.
The jacket fit him perfectly, tailored, sharp, immaculate. Anyone looking at him would think this was confidence and control.
"You look like you are about to negotiate a hostile takeover," Lucas said from behind him, tugging at Alexander's sleeve to straighten it. "Not marry the love of your life."
Alexander didn't smile and Lucas caught it immediately.
He sighed, stepping back. "Okay. That face? That's not nerves. That's something else."
Alexander loosened his grip on the edge of the dresser slowly. "I am trying to be present," he said. "I really am."
Lucas tilted his head. "But?"
"But my mind won't shut up."
Lucas folded his arms. "Do you want the joke version or the honest one?"
"Honest."
"You are spiraling," Lucas said simply. "And if Evelyn sees that look on your face, she will know."
