They had just witnessed Gary's complete elimination, and the lingering intensity of that fierce battle still hung in the air.
"I can't believe Gary lost so badly..." Xiao You bit her lip, her fingers nervously intertwined.
Brock patted her shoulder: "His opponent is, after all, a genius from the Dragon Clan, whose talent is said to surpass Champion Lance's."
Ash clenched his fist, his eyes burning with fighting spirit: "That's why we can't let our guard down! Pikachu, are you ready?"

Rainbow Eevee's entire body glowed again, forcibly breaking free from the Vine Whip's bondage, and simultaneously releasing a shockwave that pushed Bellsprout back.
"Now, for the final blow, Inferno Overdrive!"

Lance nodded in agreement: "Ash's grasp of type advantages and move selection was extremely precise, giving his opponent no opportunities."
After the match, Kaori walked up to Ash, surprisingly showing no signs of defeat's dejection; instead, a peculiar light flickered in her eyes.
"Ash, name your price." She said bluntly.
"What?" Ash was confused.
"Your Rainbow Eevee." Kaori took out a check from her handbag, "Fill in any number you want, I'm determined to have this Pokémon."
Ash's face immediately darkened, shielding the tired Rainbow Eevee behind him: "Impossible. Eevee is my partner, not a commodity."
"Don't be silly," Kaori persisted, "You know our family's influence in Kanto; if you're willing to sell, I can guarantee you'll get..."
"I said I'm not selling!" Ash's voice suddenly rose, drawing the attention of those around him, "Pokémon are not for buying and selling!"
Kaori was taken aback by his imposing manner, stepping back.
A moment later, she put away the check, resuming her haughty expression: "Hmph, you don't know what's good for you. Let's go." With that, she turned and left.
Ash let out a long breath, crouching down to gently stroke Rainbow Eevee's head: "Are you okay?"
