Lucien's POV
"What are you thinking about, Lucien?" Lila asked.
I smiled faintly. "Lila, before we take the artifact, why don't we do a little research?"
She stared at me, confused. "Research on what?"
"Lucien," she continued sharply, " what do you mean research, we should just take the artifact and find a way to escape. This place is dangerous."
She glanced around, her voice lowering. "Staying here—even for a short period of time —could cost us our lives."
"I know, Lila," I said calmly. "But this research is important. If it proves correct, it could help us in more ways than we realize."
She frowned. "Lucien… whatever is going on in that head of yours? —what are you planning?" she asked curiously.
"Don't worry," I replied. "If our research turns out to be useful, you'll find out soon enough."
She sighed softly. "Fine," she said at last, slowly getting up from where she sat.
It seemed she had finally regained herself.
"Then let's begin."
