Lucien's POV
After calming down a little, I flew straight to my room.
The door shut behind me as I stepped inside, and I dropped onto the edge of the bed.
This didn't go as planned, I thought.
I knew he would take the bait—I just didn't expect it to backfire like this.
The Hollows were extremely dangerous.
He knew that. He knew my chances of survival were slim—that was exactly why he sent me there.
So… he wanted to get rid of me.
I scoffed bitterly. I guess I never really stood a chance of earning his trust again.
But then—something clicked.
Wait.
If Asriel truly wanted me dead, why send me all the way to the Hollows?
From everything I knew about him, if he wanted to execute a traitor, he would've done it publicly—right here in this cave.
With an audience.
Humiliate me.
Make an example of me.
So why the Hollows?
Why let me die somewhere far away… where no one would see?
The Hollows were dangerous, yes—but survival wasn't impossible. Rare, but not impossible.
