It later shifted to pride, when he came out victorious.
She knew he was smart enough to not jump into danger he couldn't handle, two weeks of training him, allowing her to peel and glimpse through layers of his psyche.
The person she was most worried about, was Drew. The boy moved like a beast without a sense of direction, attacking every out-worlder he met.
Like something else was controlling him. She could tell his conscious mind was dormant now, and he was operating solely based on instinct and drive.
