Chapter 14 – The Night Raid of the Goblins

For a Goblin Emperor about to enter the central area and perhaps remain cut off from the outside world for a long time, a young and beautiful female knight seemed exceptionally important.

This meant the rate of reproduction would double, and the goblins were tempted by such an opportunity.

The old violet goblin and the white goblins were destined to be sacrificed tomorrow, so why not let them contribute to the tribe before they died?

The answer was clear.

Because on this dark night, many short figures, accompanied by two bloated monsters, were approaching.

"Hey, it's the scent of a clean woman~~"

The stupid White Goblin chuckled foolishly as it neared the human campsite.

The sensitive humans spending the night in the forest quickly sensed the strangeness in the air.

Cassvia's eyes snapped open, and when her surroundings came into view, she was instantly stunned by what she saw.

At that moment, two bloated White Goblins stood upright before her, their wide mouths showing two large teeth jutting upward, sticky and disgusting saliva dripping from their chins onto the ground.

On their hideous faces, drunken, terrifying smiles twisted grotesquely.

One stepped on the corpse of a night watchman whose throat had been pierced by an arrow, blood flowing darkly toward her across the ground.

By the flickering firelight of the campfire in the gloomy forest, one by one, short silhouettes with grinning faces crept out silently from the shadows of the woods, surrounding them.

In that moment, the female knight felt as though she had fallen into the most terrible hell. The sudden scene filled her heart with dreadful fear.

She instantly grabbed the greatsword beside her and was about to shout to wake her sleeping companions when, at that moment, a chorus of heart-rending screams shattered the night's stillness.

Venomous snakes slithered over her companions' clothing, while short goblins crept in, smashing stones down upon their heads.

Then, blazing fireballs burst through the darkness, crashing toward the cluster of resting guards.

Flames of battle roared to life in an instant, and the hideous goblins emerged one after another. A short violet demon goblin appeared, grinning wickedly.

"Bastards! They're just goblins!!!"

Cassvia shouted in fury, but her legs trembled uncontrollably. She felt the illusion that the goblins' eyes were roaming across her body, as though armor and clothing could not block their leering gaze.

The prey still resisted, so the White Goblin did not hesitate. Slowly, it lifted its massive club and swung it toward Cassvia.

Clang!

Her steel armor and sword blocked the terrifying strike of the White Goblin. The force shoved her two steps sideways, her hand and shoulder numb from the impact.

The next instant, countless pebbles shot forth from the palms of green goblins, striking her. At the same time, the other White Goblin's great club came crashing down.

The flying stones battered her face, forcing her eyes shut and blurring her view of the advancing White Goblin. When she lifted her sword to deflect the barrage, the goblin's club was already upon her.

The massive weapon slammed straight into her abdomen, hurling her and her armor back against a tree. Blood burst from her mouth, and the rebound drove her further back.

Her sword fell to the ground. Pain radiated rapidly through her body, nearly causing her to faint. Her strength was gone in an instant.

The brave, unyielding knight Cassvia clenched her teeth and tried to rise, but her legs shook uncontrollably, too weak to muster any power.

Two tall shadows and many short figures blocked the firelight, casting the circle around her into darkness.

Surrounded by the hideous goblins, Cassvia lifted her head, pupils quivering, their filthy grins reflecting in her eyes.

Wet saliva dripped from the goblins' mouths onto the earth before her, and her once-pure heart was instantly flooded with horrifying imaginings of the vile scene awaiting her.

Her breath turned cold, her once-tense, graceful back chilled, and finally fear surfaced on her lovely, pale face.

Screams echoed through the night.

"No… don't!!!"

"Heh, heh, heh, heh, heh~~"

The female knight struggled desperately, but the fat White Goblin's massive hands left her no chance to resist, gripping her tightly.

Knight Cassvia was swallowed into the horde of goblins. As her armor was torn away and clattered to the ground, her terrified screams echoed again and again until they finally vanished.

Of course, Earl Rejerson's guards did not realize that after Cassvia was stripped of her armor and swallowed into the goblin mob, she was only left in tattered clothing. The goblins gagged her with cloth, then bound her and dragged her into the dark, grim forest.

They all fought the goblins fiercely, but when they heard the knight's heart-rending cries, they imagined what horrors must befall her.

That beautiful, strong knight being assaulted and humiliated by goblins was a nightmare vision.

The scenes forming in their minds sent a chill down the spines of grown men.

A knight who had just stepped out of a latrine, before he could even pull up his trousers, froze in shock at the sudden sounds of battle, his pants caught around his legs.

He yanked them up and grabbed his weapon, rushing back to camp—only to see a sight that would haunt him forever.

A fellow guard stood near him. He stepped forward to help and asked urgently, "What's going on? Why are there goblins here?"

The guard answered in horror: "The goblins are attacking us."

The knight was incredulous. "How is that possible? Goblins dare attack us? How many of them are there?"

The guard: "I don't know, they're swarming thick, at least over a hundred, including a Goblin Shaman and two huge Goblins!"

The knight: "Weren't the goblins here scattered? What made them gather and attack us?"

The guard: "Lady Cass has…"

At that moment, the knight understood the reason.

It was because of a woman.

Goblins had a special craving for beautiful human women—that was why they gathered and attacked.

"Damn it! Don't think we're easy prey. You're just goblins!"

The knight charged into the fight.

In the end, the humans managed to drive the goblins back, killing one giant goblin and dozens of green goblins.

But only ten humans remained alive.
