Arv's sense of hearing was soon bombarded with an overwhelming repetation of obsessive and stored emotions.

Soon the world of swirling darkness was replaced by a still void. "Her" voice was gone too, but as soon as it stopped, memories of the very recent events flooded my mind.

"Oi! You done?" An unfamiliar yet very familiar voice spoke up to express it's impatience.
"Wh-where am...I?" Arv asked with a quivering voice as he looked around trying to make sense of his situation.
"In my domain"
Arv looked towards the owner of the voice.
"Enough dwadling you, let's get to business quick. If you wish to adress me then call me then call me Kaito." The owner of the voice was a tall figure clauded in a black veil that only revealed half his face and instead of legs that person had translucent tentacles, which resembled the stars of the cosmos.
"Soooo, your isekai journey didn't go well?~" Said kaito with a cheery smile.
Arv in response could only lower his head down in shame. He had fallen into such an obvious trap and gotten himself and another girl killed on his very first day, how could he raise his head anymore at this point.
"Now now no need to feel so down~why you may ask?~ Because I've got a surprise of course!"
"What surpise? Another world? Like those dimension crossing fanfics?"
"Nope, that shits boring as hell. What I want to say to you is that you have another chance awaiting you."
"What? But, I am dead! How could I get another chance!" The idea of having another chance was just absurd. If one is already dead then how can he get another chance? "Ho ho~ it seems you caught on quick. Well, thanks for saving me the effort" Kaito's smile widenned further before sitting down on a chair which had manifested out of nothing.
"So let's begin shall we now?" He smilied even further before crossing his ten fingers and placing them on his lap, both of his elbows resting on each of the chair's arms.

Arv nodded his head at his words.
"So, this world you were summoned in is a different universe from your previous one."
Huh? So the multiverse theory was true?
"And this world is the centre and only world in this universe, which is supported by the Od Laguna which supplies the world with mana. I'm sure I don't need to explain 'What's mana' to you now, do i?"

"Good, so there was this one event in this world called the Great Calamity brought about by the Witch of Envy, who for whatever reason loves you quite...alot."
Arv choked on his saliva and started coughing loudly.

"Curse you" Arv murmermed under his breath angrily "Now continue"
"Okay~ so she was the one who pulled you into this world and gave you a super broken ability."
"Ability? Oh! That Creation magic?"
"Nope! That was from me. She gave you an ability which I would like to call-" Kaito's smile became wider as he leaned in to say-"Return by death"
Return...by Death? Although the name was unfamiliar, Arv could get a gist of what it meant. And if it was indeed what he thinks it is then...it isn't anything pretty.
"So with this you can basically go back in time to a certain checkpoint, which she selects for you, each time you die."
"Urgh" Arv couldn't help but groan in displeasure,this would've been such a stupidly broken ability, perfect for my isekai adventure, but it just had to have that unnecessary and...terrifying condition for activation.
"Aaaanddd~ my gracious self felt pity for your pathetic self and decided to intervene!" Slowly, Kaito got up from the chair and flicked his hand-"BEHOLD! I PRESENT TO YOU-" A multi coloured wheel appeared beside him, like the ones they used on YouTube for selecting challenges and stuff. "THE WHEEL OF FATE!!!"

"Tch!" Kaito turned around and his tentacles carried him towards the wheel until he stood beside it. Upon reaching he turned towards Arv with a smile.
"So basically, I've written a bunch of powers on here, which I'm willing to give you. See this tiny arrow on top? Whichever power end up under this, you'll get, I did it once and boom! You got creation magic at first try! Lucky Lucky!"
"What powers? I don't even see anything written on it." Arv narrowed his eyes in an attempt to see what was written on the wheel only to be met with nothing. The wheel was fucking empty!
"Of course I won't allow you to see what's written here! Where's the fun in that?~"
"Urgh! Whatever! Just spin it already."
"O~kay!" Kaito spoke in his usual sing song voice before spinning the wheel with a lot of force.
"Which will it land on~?Which will it land on~? I wondah-oh...well that's nice for you"
Seeing the wheel come to a stop, Kaito looked towards Arv and spoke-"Shadow Manipulation. Same as that witch girl. Hm~Matching pairs~~~"
"Oh shut up. I haven't even seen her to start matching her already, although I'll accept this power, sounds broken!" Arv spoke happily but then-"but this arouses a question in my mind Kaito"
"Hm?"
"So...what are the conditions...i mean, on what conditions are you going to let me spin this wheel again or was this a one time thing?"
"Ah! Totally forgot about it! So I'll let you spin this on two conditions." Lifting up his hand, Kaito held out 2 fingers. "First condition: You can spin this each time you are killed, but it has to be a different person each time. If you die to the same person more than once then you don't get a spin"
"Wha! This is beyond cruel! You're being too unfair over here!!!" Arv rose up sharply and spoke to Kaito in a loud voice laced with anger.
"Well what can I say? I need to have my entertainment too right?~" Lifting up both his hands, Kaito gave a sign of supposed helplessness while also grinning and even giggling in pleasure.
This creature is sick in the head, it will yeild me no fruit trying to convince him. Better just leave it and listen to the second condition.
"...So? What's the second?"
"The second is upon clearing a mission given by me personally."
"Mission?"
"Save Emilia" Kaito spoke.
"Wait wha-" Before Arv could even express his confusion the void that seemed like a solid black floor now finally acted like a true void pulling me down.
"Buh bye~!" Kaito waved while bidding the falling Arv goodbye.
