[UNLIMITED GACHA UNLOCKED – 1x Daily Draw Available]
[Would you like to pull now?]
Takuya stared at the floating screen for quite a while. His finger hovered, hesitant to touch it. The last time he tried gacha, the result was complete trash. But the addiction… the thrill of pulling still burned inside him. Curiosity gnawed at him. Yet, doubt followed the moment he thought of pressing it.
"What if what comes out is a bear that jumps at me and tears me apart?" Takuya shook his head. He didn't want to die so pointlessly. "But… in novels, manga, manhwa, or manhua I've read, summoned creatures usually obey their summoner. This should be worth trying."
[Yes/No]
His hands were already raised, but he still hesitated. Everything felt familiar, but experiencing it firsthand was entirely different.
"Will I walk down the path of an anti-hero?" he whispered softly.
He had always imagined himself as the main character of some novel, someone who walked the line of an anti-hero. It sounded so cool to him—someone who looked evil, destroyed many things, but ultimately for a greater good.
Takuya nodded slightly. A grin crept across his face as he imagined it. "Oh, this is interesting."
He pressed [Yes] with sudden confidence.
A blinding blue light burst from the floating screen. The air around him trembled, as if something was trying to pierce through from another dimension. A glowing magic circle appeared beneath his feet, forming an intricate pattern that reminded him of those classic magic anime.
It even looked a little similar to the summoning circle that had pulled him into this world. Takuya swallowed hard, his heart pounding fast.
And then, from within the swirling light—something finally emerged.
Something… very small.
Plop!
It dropped right at Takuya's feet. No explosions. No tremors. No dragon roars or giant beastly cries. Just a soft thud, like a fruit falling off a table. Takuya froze, staring blankly in disbelief.
"…What… is this?" he muttered.
He looked down.
An apple.
Bright red. Shiny. Half-cut, with even a bite mark on one side. This wasn't at all what he expected. In isekai novels, people summoned into another world usually got an overpowered weapon or legendary item. But him? He got… an apple. Just an apple. Nothing else.
"…"
The silence pressed in. A faint breeze whistled past his ear.
"…WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!" he finally shouted, shattering the stillness.
[Congratulations!]
[You've summoned: Apple]
[Effect: Unknown.]
[Try eating it?]
Takuya blinked rapidly. He waited for more explanation, but nothing came. No mysterious narrator. No beautiful elf woman stepping out of the light to clarify. Just the apple. The half-eaten apple. No movement, no magical spark.
[Try eating it]
"Could this be poisoned?" he muttered suspiciously, staring hard at the fruit.
But the sweet aroma was tempting. Fresh. His stomach even growled loudly—he suddenly realized he hadn't eaten anything since arriving in this world.
"If this were in a manhua, this apple would definitely be some legendary item. An apple left behind by an ancient god hundreds of years ago." Takuya nodded repeatedly, convincing himself of that fantasy.
He wanted to eat it, but still wished he had something better for dessert.
Standing up, he glanced around. No servants came. Sitting back down, he sighed at the lonely fruit. He was completely forgotten.
"Looks like I don't have a choice," he whispered.
With a bit of hesitation, he picked up the apple. Then he bit into it.
"Itadakimasu!"
In an instant, his eyes widened. Shock washed over him—the apple was delicious. He was certain it was the most delicious apple he had ever eaten in his life. Takuya devoured it eagerly, not leaving a trace.
When it was gone, he sat cross-legged, waiting silently. Hoping. Praying that something unique would happen to his body. He spread his arms, waiting for some cheat skill to awaken—or perhaps a beautiful elf girl to appear, or at least a useful weapon to drop into his lap.
But nothing happened.
"…Seriously? What the hell? Isn't this supposed to give me a power to conquer the world?" he groaned.
Reaching out again, he tapped the floating screen to try another [Gacha Draw]—but the screen instantly changed.
[Daily Gacha already used.]
[Reset Time: 6 Hours 32 Minutes remaining.]
"Eh…?!"
He stared at the notification as if cursed. Unbelievable. He tapped the screen again, frantically trying to force the system, desperate for any option—anything!
[Failed!]
[Failed!]
[Failed!]
"I'm sure there's some hidden feature!"
He tapped again. And again.
[Failed!]
[Gacha can only be drawn once per day.]
[Would you like to purchase an extra ticket?]
[Yes/No]
Without thinking, Takuya pressed "Yes."
[You do not possess a Gacha Ticket!]
[Sorry! Shop feature is not available yet.]
[Account level too low! Reach level 30!]
"So it really is only once per day? That means… I'm just a powerless human stuck in a foreign world with no cheat skill at all? Isn't this unfair?! My stats are trash too! Isn't this outrageous?" he complained bitterly.
Clicking his tongue, he lay down on the rotten hay inside the stable. The stink of piss and dung still clung to the floor. The stomping and heavy snorts of horses nearby made him grimace. Sleeping was nearly impossible.
"Why are they so noisy?" he muttered.
Closing his eyes, he forced himself to sleep—despite the itchiness, the cold, and the noise stabbing his ears.
Soon, his breathing slowed.
Takuya fell asleep.
The next morning, he woke up and went looking for the servants, but they ignored him completely. He insisted, and finally managed to get in front of Seraphina in the training hall.
When he arrived, Seraphina only glanced briefly at him before turning back to the three other heroes.
"Why are you here?" she asked coldly.
"Hey, lady!" Takuya raised his voice slightly. "You were the ones who summoned me to this world. At least give me proper facilities."
"What did your Gacha skill produce today?"
Takuya scratched his head, hesitating. If he told the truth, he would be looked down on even more. But if he lied and couldn't prove it… he was done for.
"Hahaha, I haven't done it yet," he said nervously, scratching his head again.
"You only got an apple, didn't you?" Seraphina's words cut straight through him.
Takuya froze instantly, eyes wide, swallowing hard. She already knew.
"You spied on me? That's very rude, you know," he complained.
"Tomorrow we head to the forest to level up. You may come with us, and we'll give you proper food. Don't be late. And tomorrow… will be the proof. If you're useless, you'll be abandoned."
Seraphina didn't even bother looking at him when she said that. In this world, potential and skills were everything.
If you possessed an overpowered skill, you would be admired and respected. If not, you would be cast aside.
Just like Takuya, whose only skill was [Daily Gacha].
"If you become a burden, we'll throw you away. Remember that."
Takuya's eyes sharpened. "She really hates me."
He wanted to curse out loud, but then he saw Shigeru clashing with Aika. Explosions of magic blasted across the training ground, sending huge gusts of wind flying everywhere.
Takuya's jaw dropped. "This is just like those magic anime," he muttered, swallowing hard.
"It's no wonder they're treated so specially. They're strong. Meanwhile, I…" He gave a crooked, awkward smile. "…I only have one stupid skill."
