Chapter 10 - CHAPTER 10:SPAR AND GO

"Hey guys! I'm bored. Why don't we spar? We are a team, we should know each other's techniques at least, eh?"

"That's the cleverest thing you've said today, "Riku said.

They stood on the training ground. Some students had begun to come around: " It's a party, let's watch."

"So how should the fight be?" Kaito asked.

"You both against me!" Kin sid firmly.

" You sure about that!"Kaito grinned." Don't underestimate us!"

"You both are very strong compared to most students I've seen; that's why I make this request," Kin said.

" No problem, kin, I hope you can handle it. I am a handful, and Kaito, although a jerk, is plenty strong, and I won't pull any punches."Riku said.

"Yes, do not hold back."

Kin got into a fighting stance they had never seen before. And Riku brought out the metal rod that was fixed on his belt. Kaito smiled." Okay, night, let's do this," she barked. "Night fog: Equip"and some mist degan to form around Kaito's hand and back, soon it faded away, revealing a bow and arrows.

Kaito moved first, an arrow of green Kannen energy forming on his bow. "Piercing Art: Falcon Shot!" The arrow flew with lightning speed, tearing the air as it aimed for Kin's shoulder.

But Kin had golden energy seeping out of him now, the golden aura flaring like fire.his fist clenched, and an amount of energy began pooling in in his fist making it look like the fist was on golden flames." Golden rage art: Dragon srtike!" kins fist slammed into the air, creatin a massive shockwave that blew the arrow off course, shattering it.

"Whoa!" Kaito grinned broadly. " Now we are talking!"

Riku didn't wait; he thrust his palm forward, and a glowing blue S appeared on it while a red N flared on Kin's chest. The law of magnetism pulls them together. Instantly dragging Kin's body across the field to Riku.

Riku tightened the grip around the metal rod. He planned to strike Kin when he got close enough. But

Kin twisted his body mid-pull, his leg flaming gold." Golden art: Severing kick!" his heel slammed into the ground, shattering the concrete and breaking the magnetic pull.

Riku's eye narrowed. "You broke it..."

The golden flame aura covered all of Kin, and in a blur of speed, he was directly in front of Riku, about to deliver a punch!

But Kaito wouldn't be left behind." Night - assist!"

The fox leaped, transforming into a bit larger version, her claws glowing purple, she swiped at kin who dodged, and countered with an elbow strike that sent the fox flying with a shock wave.

But Kin almost forgot, Riku was still right in front of him. Kin began to throw a barrage of punches, and Riku reflexively countered by deflecting each punch with his rod in a fast motion.

"How does he match my speed!?" Kin asked himself.

" Now, Kaito!" Riku yelled after he had slammed the rod on Kin's jaw when he lost concentration.Kaito had jumped high in the air, the arrow glowing purple, making the whole environment seem dark!" Piercing art: Night Line!"

The arrow moved so fast and lunged deep into Kin's shoulder,

Some blood is spewing out.

Riku back-flipped away as Kin knelt down, in pain, slowly removing the lunged arrow. The golden energy flared around Kin.

" Golden art: Raging flames!"

Then two balls of flames appeared, hovering above Kin's palm.

They threw one directly to Riku. It moved so fast, tearing through the air.

BOOM!

Riku managed to deflect it with his rod, but the backclash threw the rod out of Riku's hand and hurt his palm.

"Kaito, quick cover us!"

Kin had gauged their strength now; he was way more powerful than they were, or than what they had just shown him.

Kin concentrated the energy into his fists.

"Golden art: Terrorizing tremor!"

kin's fist slammed against the ground. causing the ground to shake and breaking massive chunks of earth out of the ground...

The sun was sinking behind the skyline of Tokyo, painting the clouds in strokes of orange and crimson. Kin, Kaito, and Riku walked along the paved path that led back toward the central courtyard of Satsujin High. Most students had left campus as their suad leader had come picked them up and sent them to the unit dormitories.Kin walked silently as always, his golden eyes fixed forward, but inside he was strangely… calm. Kaito hummed to himself, pretending the fatigue didn't bother him. Riku, adjusting his black eyepatch over his left eye, gave a quiet sigh—his pale white hair glowing faintly in the sunset like silver fire.

" Why hasn't Mr. Arakawa come pick us up? Stuff's getting boring." Kaito complained.

Night barked.

"You see! Night gets it," he added.

"Patience is a virtue, Kaito,"Riku said.

As they reached the courtyard, two figures stood waiting beneath the great torii gate.

One was Arakawa, tall and broad-shouldered, his red hair glowing almost as fiercely as the sky. His presence radiated the power of a Platinum-ranked Hunter, but his crimson eyes were calm, analyzing.

Beside him stood Mr. Kurokawa, older, sharp-eyed, with neatly combed black hair and thin glasses that glinted in the fading light. He held a stack of files under one arm, his demeanor meticulous, cold, yet undeniably authoritative.

The three boys slowed, each instinctively straightening.

Arakawa gave a small smirk.

"So these are the rookies I've been hearing about." His voice was deep, but there was no mockery in it—only curiosity. His gaze lingered on Kin.

Mr. Kurokawa, however, wasted no time.

" Ayanami Kaito. Sato Riku. Ikari Kin," he recited sharply, his voice carrying across the courtyard. "The three of you will be observed closely from this day forward. Potential means nothing without discipline. Remember that."

Kaito swallowed nervously, then forced a grin.

"Heh… noted, sir."

Riku tilted his head, his single visible eye flashing with quiet determination.

"We understand."

Kin said nothing, but his golden eyes met Arakawa's red ones for the briefest of moments. Something unspoken passed between them—a recognition, perhaps, or a silent challenge.

Arakawa broke the tension with a low chuckle.

"Good. Then let's see if you can survive what's coming. The world of Satsujin Hunters isn't kind to dreamers."

Though exhausted, their spirits burned brighter. The day had ended, but their true journey had just begun.WHO IS MR.KUROKAWA (Kurokawa is a 45-year-old instructor and strategist within the Satsujin Hunters. Unlike many of the hot-headed warriors who thrive in battle, he is a man of calm precision and meticulous planning. With his black hair neatly kept, glasses perched low on his nose, and a constant air of seriousness, he looks more like a strict schoolteacher than a hunter of demonic Toku. But beneath his composed exterior lies a sharp and calculating mind. Kurokawa has built his reputation not on raw power, but on his unmatched intellect and mastery of Kannen theory. He is the type of man who can break down a complex battle formation in seconds, spotting weaknesses that others would overlook. Many younger hunters see him as cold or overly critical, but those who train under him quickly realize his harshness comes from a desire to see them survive. He rarely smiles, and his words are often blunt, but when he speaks, people listen. His strategic foresight has saved countless hunters from disastrous missions, earning him respect even from the strongest warriors. Some even whisper that if Kurokawa had chosen to pursue front-line combat instead of instruction, he could have become a Platinum Rank Hunter.Despite his intimidating demeanor, there is a quiet loyalty in Kurokawa. He treats his students like chess pieces, but not disposable ones—rather, as pieces he refuses to lose. His strictness hides a rare, almost fatherly concern for those under his watch.)Thank you so much for reading this chapter! 💛 Your thoughts, theories, and feedback mean the world to me, so please drop a comment below—I'd love to hear what you think of Kin's journey so far.If you spot any non-standard content or anything that feels off, please kindly report it so we can keep this story safe and enjoyable for everyone.Your support keeps this world alive—see you in the next chapter.
