Chapter 2 - The City of Vireon

Morgan's wrists were bound with a glowing thread—thin as silk, strong as steel. The Group of five moved in silence, their masks reflecting the forest's neon haze. They didn't speak to him. They didn't explain. They just walked.

Morgan was observing the three figures who where walking in front of him, he heard them talking to each other before the sudden silence so he knew their names. He had more knowledge and wisdom than them since he very much older than all of them.

He glance at the woman their leader she was about 5.7 ft tall she had a strong looking figure he could bearly see her face then he looked to the left a huge man about 6.5 ft, he glanced at the other man who looked like a human beast his insanely huge arms which was five times bigger than his thighs he was very strong he could crush Morgan's heard without a sweat behind him where two people a woman almost the same height as the other woman on his left side was a man he looked different than the four he woar something we would call in today life a black suit but without a tie.

Morgan dicided to break the silence his voice rangout "is today the 16 July, 2025?" the man in a black suit looked at him with an expression that of a surprised person he replied " what's wrong you? today is the 16 July, 2425. Morgan wanted to ask more questions but he dicided to shut his mouth he thought to himself " four centuries ago was 2025?, is that even possible?, I have been on a comma for four centuries?.

The forest gave way to cliffs. Then to light.

Morgan stepped onto a floating platform. Below him, a city shimmered—Vireon. Towers of glass and metal spiraled into the sky. Roads curved like veins. Drones zipped past. The air smelled like ozone and fire.

GLASSBORN LEADER

"Welcome to Vireon. The last city that remembers the old Earth."

Morgan's heart pounded. He wasn't just in the future. He was in a world rebuilt from ashes.

As they entered the city gates, a pulse hit Morgan's chest. The Orb inside him flickered. His vision blurred.

FLASHBACK:

He's in a lab. Younger. Laughing. A woman—Elara—hands him a tablet.

ELARA:

"You're always chasing time, Morgan. What happens if it catches you first?"

He smiles. Then the explosion. Then darkness.

BACK TO PRESENT

Morgan gasps. The Glassborn stop.

GLASSBORN HUNTER:

"He's syncing. The memories are waking."

They took him to a chamber carved into the mountain. Screens float mid-air. A man was waiting—Elder Varn, skin like stone, eyes like fire.

VARN:

"You are Morgan Knoway. You were preserved. But not by us."

MORGAN:

"Preserved? For what?"

VARN:

"For the war that never ended. The Riftborn still hunt. And you… you built the weapon they seek."

Morgan's blood runs cold.

MORGAN:

"I built the Orb. But it wasn't a weapon."

VARN:

"Then why does it kill gods?"

Morgan is introduced to:

- Kara: A Glassborn scout with a cybernetic arm and a sharp tongue.

- Juno: A tech-smith who builds weapons from memory fragments.

- The Riftborn: Shadowy figures who phase through walls, whisper in dreams, and leave no bodies—only echoes.

Juno showed Morgan the Memory Forge—a device that extracts memories and turns them into tools. Morgan touched it. A blade formed in his hand—etched with Elara's name.

JUNO:

"Your past is your arsenal now."

That night, Morgan dreamed. In his dream he saw Elara. She was crying. Behind her, a Riftborn general—Vexar—smiled.

VEXAR (in dream):

"You woke too late, Morgan. The future is already mine."

Morgan wakes, drenched in sweat. The Orb pulses. With a cold expression on:

"Then I'll rewrite it."
