The room had turned dead silent at my words. At this rate, we could hear a pin of it dropped. I ignored the shocking look on Mirabelle and Ama's face.
"Maeve what are you saying?" Mirabelle asked innocently.
"How can you choose to side your assistant over us Maeve?" Ama asked raising her voice a bit.
"I'm not choosing anyone Ama. I have a huge competition tomorrow, even though the wine doesn't destroy my voice, it would definitely make me tipsy and late for the competition." I said to Ama. I wasn't going to let her ruin my day like my last life.
I knew what she wanted. My songs, and I wouldn't let her have it.
"You're over thinking Maeve. A little sip would do nothing to you. You wouldn't even get tipsy from taking a sip. It's all for celebrating, don't be such a buzzkill." Ama pouted her lips in annoyance.
"When did you get like this Maeve? You changed so much after that night." Mirabelle said.
