Thorn smiled and flipped his hand and 10 pieces of paper appeared.
"Now line up and drip your blood on the paper, then press your finger in the blood." Thorn said.
The 10 people lined up, in an honest manner.
The man watched from a distance, as the people signed the contracts in blood. And the more he saw the more intrigued he became.
He wanted to approach but his keen sense told him, no. It wasn't a good idea.
On the other side in the dimension.
Malrik has been receiving an unusual amount of souls, especially since he hasn't gotten any new subjects yet. So he wanted to take a look at what Thorn was doing.
And was surprised at what Thorn had come up with, it was a damn battle royale the 10 last standing could become his subjects, fascinating.
As he was watching he noticed something: a soul, a different soul, a soul he wanted.
He located the soul and saw it was just outside of the town Thorn was in. He sent Thorn a message, saying he wanted that soul, and where he could find the soul he wanted.
On the other side.
Thorn who received the message was confused, but mostly shocked the lord would reach out. But when he got to hear there as a soul the lord wanted and it was just outside the town he was in, he nearly rushed over immediately.
He stopped himself, thought of what it might be, he wasn't arrogant to think he and his brethren who believed in the hollow lord were the only with inhuman powers.
He wasn't afraid to die or lose, but he was afraid to fail his lord.
He didn't change his expression, he tried to use his senses to sense where the person was exactly and get a read on what they were doing. But he saw and heard nothing, he should normally with his superhuman senses be able to hear a heartbeat, but… nada.
But then he heard a rustling sound, and moved, he catapulted with his superhuman speed and headed straight for the sound. Upon getting closer and getting a good look at it, what he saw was a human… or was it?
He heard no heartbeat, humans don't live without a heartbeat. And he felt no warmth radiating from this person. He was cold, as a corpse, or marble.
The creature looked surprised, and then tried to back away, but Thorn moved, reaching out his hand to try and grab the creature's arm.
But the creature was too fast and moved his arm out of the way, but then Thorn used TK to pull the hand into his grasp. The creature looked surprised, to say the least.
Thorn upon feeling the arm was even more surprised, it felt like the arm of a corpse, with a hidden strength underneath.
But Thorn was not distracted from the main target, he pulled the arm as strongly as he could and at the same time he put his foot on the creature's shoulder blade. When he pulled the creature's hand he had twisted his body slightly so his foot got a good footing.
Then with all his power combined with TK he ripped the arm straight off the shoulder it was attached to. The creature let out a pained sound as another sound, a lot like marble cracking came from the creature's shoulder area. As the arm loosened from the shoulder the creature went flying at a thick tree by the residual force.
Thorn threw the arm away and ran at the creature, punching it in the face, its face which had just lifted off the ground went crashing into the ground once again.
Then he reached for its other arm, but the creature twisted and kicked him in the stomach. It felt like he had been hit with a boulder. He was sent flying, not stopping til he hit a tree.
His ribs were broken, his chest was sunken and his breathing was thin.
His healing kicked in, but it was moving slowly and it itched.
He stood up looking at the creature that had also stood up, they locked eyes then launched at each other, their fists meeting in a fist on fist action, the fists colliding created a sound like flesh on marble. As Thorn felt his arm go numb, the creature kicked him in the side, he was able to block a little with TK but just enough not to go down from that kick.
The creature was on him in an instant but this time Thorn was ready and spun on the ground and did a double kick in the creature's stomach region. The creature went flying once again and once in the air Thorn used his TK to speed up the flight to cause more damage from the landing.
But then his subordinates arrived, a whooping 15 of them, the widow and her child were left in town. That's why it was only 15 but that should be enough.
He looked over at the creature again, it was standing unstedily and looking at its arm behind us.
The landing must have caused some damage, as he could swear he saw cracks on his face. Thorn was not calm, the creature was strong, and the only reason he can fight him like this is because he got the drop on him and was able to rip his arm off. Also this is the first time fighting something that could hit back, but now with all the damage caused to the creature, it can be feeling good.
"Hehehe you want your arm?" Thorn asked mockingly now, more confident with his subordinates here…
The creature frowned and said, "I'm sorry if I offended you, but we have no enmity, why not go our separate ways?"
Thorn chuckled and said "No, we want your soul, or our lord wants you soul."
The creature frowned and got into battle position, it was no use communicating with fanatics.
Thorn smiled and also got ready, and then launched at the creature, using his TK to slow the creature movements he landed a punch to its face. But when the creature was about to retaliate another figure appeared next to the creature; it was Thorp's subordinate, who grabbed the creature in a hugging position.
As Thorp grabbed its other arm and pulled, the same marble-like sound came from where the arm of the creature was pulled, the shoulder.
The creature now seemed to have forgotten the previous frustration and anger, now only fear remained. It was scared to die.
As fear overtook it, Thorp had moved, grabbed the creature's head since the arm thing wasn't lethal, but few creatures survive without its head. So he twisted and pulled, the head coming clean off, still with that marble-like sound.
But… it wasn't dead, the soul wasn't leaving like when humans died, you only had a short moment to absorb the soul after a human died, but you can feel when a human dies that the soul is preparing to leave, but here it showed no tendency to leave.
Finally he just tried to absorb the soul using the dark mist, and it worked, it felt different tho, the amount of strength increased from this soul was a lot more. Even if he only got a tithe of it.
In the other dimension.
Malrik received the soul, he had his suspicions but now he had to be sure. So he tried to read the mind of the soul. A skill he had never tried to use, because what valuable information could an ordinary human have?
And it was as he had suspected, these vampires were exactly like the Twilight vampires, they even sparkled in the sun.
But the world is very different now compared to the start of Twilight.
Malrik sighed.
Now he knows what world he is in, he doesn't need to fear other strong creatures threatening him, seeing as getting a physical body is pain enough, if there were creatures strong enough to truly cause a problem then that would just be… torture. Of course the prerequisite was that nothing had changed and this was still Twilight, but from what he could see from this vampire's memories, it was just like the movies.
Back at the vampire's body Thorn got information from his lord about what the creature was and how to kill it.
Thorn told his subordinates to put the body on fire.
Then Thorn, his subordinates and new subordinates headed to the meet up point they had with Loyd, seeing as they were already late. The plot against the towns folk drew out on the time, but it was all worth it, the lord said it was entertaining, so it was truly worth it.
CHAPTER END.
