Lemillion was surfing through the walls just as fast as they were being decimated by the crazed villain in front of them.
He jumped out of the wall and ran toward Moonfish, sliding underneath its sharp metal teeth, barely avoiding getting impaled.
But just as he was close enough to finally land a blow, another metal spike tore out of his mouth, slicing right through Lemillion's head.
Thankfully, he had phased through it.
For a moment he could see nothing, the world was dark and not even sound reached his ears, but a moment later, he was back to normal.
A side effect of his quirk…
He shifted his stance immediately, his head popping out of the sharp tooth, then he planted a heavy blow right into the villain's jaw, rocking his head back.
Moonfish stumbled back a few steps, shrieking in rage, and then multiple sharp teeth erupted outward, charging right at him.
Lemillion jumped back, but the rows of blade teeth followed him, aiming right for his chest.
"Lemillion!" came Nejire's voice.
He knew exactly what she meant. His body immediately became impermeable, the world once again turning dark.
Lemillion calculated how much time he would take to reach the ground so that he wouldn't phase through it.
'One, two, three… six!'
Immediately, he became permeable once again, his feet scratching against the floor, and his vision returning to him just in time to see the spiral energy blast a few of the extended teeth away.
Moonfish shook his head, clearing the cobwebs in his mind. "K-k-k-kill heroes, rip flesh. Flesh, flesh, flesh. No, kill heroes, kill HEROES!"
BOOOM!
The room shook, multiple long teeth stretching out of his jaws, scratching the walls and ripping through concrete as though it was paper.
The hallway became a web of sharp teeth, a labyrinth of destruction.
Lemillion managed to phase through it, but Nejire was not as lucky; one of his teeth ripped right through her shoulder, drawing blood and tossing her to the ground.
She gritted her teeth in pain, holding her shoulder as she rose to her feet, but when she lifted her gaze—
The storm of teeth was charging right at her.
"?!"
SCHKKKKK!
The teeth dug into the floor, multiple elongated spikes tearing the floor apart and creating screeching sounds.
Dust blanketed the room, and Moonfish stared right at it, waiting for the cloud to clear, waiting to see the severed corpse.
But cradled in the dust at the other side of the room were Lemillion and Nejire.
Just before the attack, Lemillion had managed to pull her out of the impact zone, but since he had to solidify himself to grab her, he ended up with a nasty cut on his arm.
"Togata—!" Nejire sharply whispered. "Are you okay?" she asked as she stared at the blood.
Lemillion nodded, his expression slightly pale.
'I didn't expect him to be this strong.' Lemillion ripped a part of his clothing and wrapped it around his wound to stop the bleeding.
They were lucky that they were in an enclosed space; if it was an open area, then the villain would have had the advantage.
His net of teeth made it difficult to approach him or launch any suitable attacks, and the teeth were not just strong, they were sharp enough to rip into the walls with ease.
Lemillion took a deep breath, allowing his beating heart to settle.
Thankfully, Lemillion had formed a plan.
•••
Moonfish was elevated above the floor by his teeth, moving around the room as he guarded the bomb.
The dust was just settling when Lemillion stepped out of the corner and began walking toward him, his gaze focused.
Immediately, Moonfish saw him; he shrieked, teeth flying forward like tentacles and crashing right into Lemillion.
But he simply walked right through the attack, completely unfazed by it.
Moonfish cocked his head to the side and unleashed attack after attack, each one with the same nonexistent effect.
Slowly, Lemillion was shifting Moonfish's attack pattern, slowly moving toward the left side of the room as he walked toward him.
Tired of the constant failure, Moonfish screamed in rage, his mouth wide open as the tooth curved to the left, trying to impale Lemillion into the wall.
"Now, Nejire!" Lemillion screamed as he lunged forward.
Nejire popped out of the other side of the room, spiral energy forming in her hands and reflecting in her eyes—
Lemillion had two goals…
The first was to frustrate the villain, and the next was to find the perfect opening to attack.
His teeth were almost always moving in a straight path from his face, so it was hard for Nejire to get a direct shot because it was also protecting him.
But now…
Nejire had a clear shot.
Nejire jerked as the blast left her body, her hair blowing back from the wind.
Whoosh!
The spiral currents flew, passing right through Lemillion and exploding against Moonfish, causing him to scream in pain.
And then Lemillion came, like a phantom, snaking right through his defenses—
To unleash a hellish blow that rocked his head backward.
Bang!
Finally, Moonfish stumbled, the strength leaving him as he fell to the floor, the teeth retracting back into his mouth.
"Yes! We did it!" Nejire shouted in joy, fist-bumping the air.
Lemillion smiled, wiping the beads of sweat that had formed on his face.
He quickly jogged up to the bomb and placed the tag atop it. Immediately, as the tag made contact, the ticking sound stopped and the digital display of the bomb darkened.
Lemillion turned to Nejire. "Let's go find the others—"
The sound of a wet, dragging noise, as well as light footsteps, reached their ears, interrupting Lemillion.
Then came a deep, horrific voice that caused their blood to run cold.
"There… will be… no need for t-at."
A voice that was barely human, a broken tone that sounded like an incomplete piece.
Out of the corner came a man, clad in a pure black super suit, with streaks of lightning patterns that seemed to pulse, running down his chiseled body.
On his head were two spike-like horns that pointed upwards, dark blue currents darting from horn to horn and creating a buzzing sound.
He was dragging a person along with him by their hair, leaving a trail of blood as they moved…
A person that they both recognized perfectly well.
Lemillion's mouth hung open, his gaze darkening as he tightened his fists at his side.
While Nejire covered her mouth with both hands, her lips quivering from the ghastly sight.
It was…
Present Mic?!
