THIRD POV
PEOPLE's REACTION TO THE ACCIDENT
Clara's eyes remained fixed on the menu in front of her. She wasn't actually looking at the expensive dishes listed there, nor did she feel any urge to choose one.
It was because of the man sitting across from her.
She could feel his gaze on her. Ever since they arrived a few minutes ago, she had been fighting the urge to look up at him.
Coming here was a bad idea. She told herself that over and over again. Accepting his invitation to dinner, agreeing to watch the fireworks on the rooftop afterwards, and being here with him at all. She should have declined and stayed with Harper instead.
Yet she had accepted. Impulsively, she might add. And now she was regretting it.
A grimace crossed her face as she thought about everything he had said during her shopping trip with Harper.
He had a girl.
Didn't that mean he was cheating on her?
