The request was easy and simple to understand and so being willing, Evangeline nodded her head and Cerdery's cheeks turned amber with happiness. Eva felt as her hand held by Cerdery and winced, pulling away.
At this, Cerdery's eyes widened a little.
"What's the matter?"
"I don't know," she whispered, "It stung."
She hadn't been scratched by the lady's long nails that appeared like a coffin. Yet when the fingertips touched, she had flinched as if a small lightning had struck her skin, zapping it. While she questioned what could be the cause as nothing had happened when her skin was touched by Hades, Evangeline whispered, "Maybe it's just my sensitive thoughts."
"Maybe," Cerdery stared at the mark around her neck and narrowed her eyes, "Not."
