Chapter 6 - Aria's Nightmare

Kael's days blurred together as he followed Aria, watching her every move. He slept on the roof of the house opposite hers, his senses attuned to her presence. He protected her from the smallest of dangers, using his magic to deflect a falling pot or a splash of water on the street.

As the days passed, Kael grew more and more attached to Aria. He saw the pain in her eyes, the fear that lingered in her gaze. He knew that she was trapped in a living nightmare, and he was determined to help her.

One day, Kael witnessed Marcus's anger boil over. He saw the way Marcus's eyes flashed with fury, the way his fists clenched and unclenched. Kael's magic stirred, ready to intervene.

As Marcus's blows rained down on Aria, Kael's control snapped. He teleported to Aria's side, his magic wrapping around her like a shield. He caught her as she stumbled, holding her close as Marcus's rage spent itself.

For a moment, Kael and Aria locked eyes, and he saw a glimmer of recognition there. But it was quickly extinguished as he tried to process what was happening. Marcus stumbled backward, his face twisted in anger.

"Stay out of this," Marcus snarled, his eyes flashing with fury.

Kael's magic surged, but he held back, not wanting to reveal his true nature. Instead, he helped Aria to her feet, supporting her as she swayed.

"Let's get you out of here," Kael said softly, his voice barely above a whisper.

Aria nodded, her eyes welling up with tears. Kael guided her away from the house, away from Marcus's wrath. As they walked, Kael felt a sense of purpose he hadn't felt in centuries. He was determined to protect Aria, to help her escape the nightmare she was living.

But as they walked, Kael couldn't shake the feeling that he was playing with fire. He was getting closer to Aria, closer to revealing his true nature. And what would happen when she found out? Would she be grateful, or would she fear him?

As they reached the edge of the village, Kael looked down at Aria, his heart pounding in his chest. He knew that he had to be careful, that he had to protect her without revealing his secrets. But he also knew that he couldn't stay hidden forever.

Kael and Aria lived in a small cabin on the mountain, surrounded by trees and wildlife. They had grown closer, but Aria still maintained a sense of fear around Kael. She didn't know much about him, and his mysterious nature made her uneasy.

One day, Kael suggested they split up to gather supplies. Aria went to pick herbs in the mountains, while Kael gathered firewood. As Aria wandered through the forest, her basket filling up with herbs, she felt a sense of peace wash over her.

But her tranquility was short-lived. Marcus and a group of thugs ambushed her, grabbing her and dragging her away. Aria struggled and kicked, but they were too strong.

Meanwhile, Kael was gathering firewood, his senses attuned to the forest around him. When he arrived back at the cabin, he found Aria gone. He searched the surrounding area, calling out her name, but there was no response.

As he searched, Kael's anxiety grew. He followed Aria's trail, his senses on high alert. He found her herb basket lying on the forest floor, her sandals scattered nearby. Kael's heart sank as he realized what had happened.

With a surge of adrenaline, Kael set off after Marcus and his thugs. He followed their trail, his magic guiding him through the forest. As he approached the town, Kael's anger grew. He would do whatever it took to rescue Aria, to keep her safe.

Kael's eyes narrowed as he entered the town, his senses scanning the streets for any sign of Aria. He would find her, no matter what it took. And when he did, Marcus would pay for what he had done.

With a otherworldly calm settled over Kael, his magic simmering just below the surface. He would find Aria, and he would bring her home. The thought of anything happening to her was unbearable.

With a determined stride, Kael disappeared into the night, his senses guiding him towards the unknown. The darkness seemed to swallow him whole, but he moved with a purpose, driven by his need to protect Aria.
