The bunch of seaweed, after being washed, was about three fingers thick, but it didn't feel old or tough to the touch.
Eric carefully kept just enough for the next meal. He used small, sharp twigs to pierce the rest and hung them on a high branch to dry. This seaweed would be very light and convenient to carry once dried. He had to take advantage of these sunny and windy days to dry some more as reserves.
This amount of seaweed, when fresh, could wrap once around the neck of an adult Snow Wolf, so it was considered quite a lot. But once it shriveled up from drying, there wouldn't be much left.
After finishing with the seaweed, Eric wanted to dry more, so he had to run off to find Michael, who was still being "tormented" by Max.
"Michael, where did you find this seaweed? Can we get some more? This vegetable is delicious!"
