Chapter 50 - The Apology

The mattress beside me sank down, then lightened. The door lock made a very soft "click," and then the door was gently closed.

I opened my eyes, staring blankly at the ceiling.

"Khang went out."

That fact kept spinning in my head until dawn.

Throughout the next morning, I didn't see any sign of Khang.

The work of digging the cellar had drained my energy, leaving me with no strength to think about the things I most wanted to avoid facing.

In the afternoon, the foundation for the cellar was dug.

I wiped my sweat and looked around, but I couldn't see Bang beo anywhere.

I found it strange. He was clearly here just a moment ago; in the blink of an eye, he had disappeared.

My whole body was sticky with sweat, an incredibly uncomfortable feeling, and there was a faint sour smell.

I frowned, walking towards the temporary bathhouse.
