Then the 'window' showed Makoto a bunch of names who he recognized and some not, he also noticed it also included their photos too and something weird that had been mentioned by this 'window' called 'Friendship level' which showed (0/100). He doesn't understand what it means.
Player? Be friends with people?, is this perhaps some kind of stupid game someone forced on him, Perhaps Nahida. " No " Makoto dismissed that idea, no matter how annoying and how much she talked to him about how important it is to make friends with others, Nahida never forced him at all. This clearly someone or something who did this.
But not only that!!!

" What!?" Now this is really outrageous, this thing is forcing him to choose a lover too. It's another thing to force him to befriend those people, but this!?. He promises to make whoever or whatever behind this and make them regret what they did to him.
Then the 'window' started showing him the list of girls and women with their name, photo and a small locked padlock in their "affection level (0/300)".
When Makoto read the first name, his face frowned, if he could puke he already did that, thankfully for his synthetic nature he couldn't and also because he can't move too, as the first name read "Yae Miko" with her photo showing her eyes flash seductively and one finger on the lips with other hand holding a book. Ridiculous that he will choose her, but if this is a List option to Kill a woman you don't like, then he Will choose her without any hesitation.
The second in the list shows a familiar face.
" That damn witch" Makoto thought as he read and saw the photo of a girl with a huge hat and Hydro vision wearing something so ridiculous. Makoto wonders why that girl even bothered wearing such scandalous clothes, is she a pervert or a prostitute?. Makoto doesn't understand why his Scaramouche incarnation has a thing toward her?.
The third is also someone Makoto knows too, it's showing a picture of a familiar young girl with white hair and with a green streak on a swing Made from Dendro energy. She is not a bad choice honestly and Makoto also knows that Nahida has romantic feelings toward him. The problem is he doesn't not want to follow whoever or whatever who forced him to choose, if he has to choose her, he wants to choose with his free Will!. Damn this 'window' and whoever or whatever is behind this!.
The fourth is also someone Makoto's know but not personally, it's written "Kamisato Ayaka" with her photo showing a white snow haired girl with a traditional fan hand. Makoto know hernafter when he was still part of Fatui, that girl is necessary to them to force her brother to work with Fatui but unfortunately (or fortunately perhaps, if Fatui success there a good chance he still be "Scaramouche") they failed to sink their claw to her.
The Fifth and The Sixth is someone he doesn't recognize, with the fifth named Shenhe and the sixth named Fischl. Makoto tries to remember if he ever met them but he cannot remember ever meeting with them even though there are photos showing their faces. " Probably just random girls" he thought.
But when he reaches The Seventh and last of the list, Makoto's anger instantly rises to the roof, he really, really makes whatever is behind this to suffer beyond mortal compression before ending their pathetic life slowly and he will enjoy every moment of it. The reason is it shows him the name that he recognized everywhere "Raiden Ei" with her photo showing her taking out a familiar sword from above her boobs. He doesn't understand why his mother's photo shows her in such an indecent pose, can't this thing pick another photo or something. And why she is on the list on the first place, are this thing or whatever behind this have thing for incest?.
Makoto can feel the rage replaced by disgust the more he thinks about it. No way he chose her. Before he can think more the 'window' starts to show him another more.
How to choose your Lover Route is simple, you just need to talk to one of them first and you automatically set to their Route, and the other potential Route Will be changed to the Friendship list.
Like hell he wants to choose any of them! Nahida aside.
Then it shows him something that makes his artificial blood freeze. He read it again and again, he didn't know how many times he read it but Makoto hoped he just read it wrong.
Success can be achieved by befriending 3 people and gaining max level on Lover! In 30 days begin the moment you open the Lover Route.

Then the 'window' disappeared as quickly as it appeared. And the world around him starts back to normal, like the world freezing in a moment was not happening at all
So, that means only he is aware about this.
And what the hell was that? He is pretty sure not hallucinating or under some sort of illusion right?.
He checked his entire body to make sure that there was not something cursed or weird that sticks to him that caused that. He ignored a bunch of people who looked at him weird. Their unwanted attention is beneath him.
Makoto needs to talk with Nahida about this! And as fast as possible. But if he goes back without bringing what she ordered there is a good chance that she just pouts and starts to lecture him again. No matter even if the entire Teyvat is at risk, if it's only him at risk then he doesn't care at all, he just doesn't want to hear her Lecture again. It's become a very tiring thing to hear that many times.
" Now, where did I find this thing called dango milk?" Makoto shuddered, just imagining the sweet taste of dango and Milk combined into one as a new food item. He can feel his tongue suffer and his tooth rot just by imagining the abomination.
Makoto starts to walk around the market, it's not too long for him to see a vendor which sells that disgusting drink at least according to him. He ordered a few bottles of the 'disgusting' Drink and paid the seller.
"Take the change" Makoto said and The old lady happily accepted. It's now better for him to go back to Sumeru as fast as possible. The longer he is here the bigger the chance he accidentally meets one of Lover Route here and opens it.
Unfortunately for him, as soon as he turned his body and took a few steps his face hit something soft and he fell on his but. Fortunately the drink has not spilled or something. He let out a sigh of relief when he checked all the drinks were safe.
"Hey, be careful where you walk!" Makoto said angrily. Not paying attention to someone that had crashed toward him. Makoto looks around as he sees many people stop and look at him like he is courting death itself.
"Ah, I'm very sorry" Makoto fell silent, he recognized that sound, no matter how long the last time he heard that, he still remembered who the owner of this sound was.
Makoto raised his face toward the woman, he also recognized the face too. The woman who created him yet also the one who abandoned him. Her hair is still beautiful as he remembers. His mother. Raiden Ei. As their eyes were locked at each other the world froze in time again, both him, his mother and everything stopped moving and the damn 'window' appeared again in front of his face.

She already proved to them that she was worthy of the title of Raiden Shogun and Electro Archon.
But, yet still…
Everyone of them, including the Kamisato head clan who said he fully supports her also still has an air hidden agenda and that annoying smugness of him which he shows it consciously or not. No wonder Miko dislikes him, she also starts to hate him the more she pays attention to him.
And of course, all it took was for her to just say yes for these annoying nobles and they started to praise her. From her long experience as kagemusha for Makoto, Ei learned that mortals or immortal in positions of power were not familiar with the answer "No" No matter if it's from their own higher up, even if it's become necessary to answer them with "No" she needs to give many trustworthy reasons which they Will start to give their own important reasons to and even if they accept the refusal, she can see a condescending look in their eyes. But at the end of day all of those requests and submissions from them Will need Miko final agreement not her, Raiden Shogun, Raiden Ei, Electro Archon but her priestess. Because at the end of day, she is not the leader of the country with political understanding and wit. Ei is just warrior and General nothing more or less and she is happy with that.
Raiden Ei is tired with her pride, responsibility and her life in general.

"Ei regarding some of these requests that you agreed on are simply idiotic or impossible, no matter what your reason is," the Kitsune responded before pausing for a moment when she saw her friend in a bad mood. "Well forget about those paper for a moment, there is something else that you might want to hear"
Miko grinned as she give back the papers back to Ei. "Here the last one"
"Is that so?" Ei look at Miko with a straight face but she cannot hide the tiredness in her eyes as she takes back the last paper of agreement that Miko already checked. "Well, let me hear it."
"There has been a new flavor of Dango Milk" With that, the tiredness started to go from her eyes when she heard that from Miko's mouth. "From what rumor I hear and ask from many people this new taste is better from normal Dango Milk but also sold in limited numbers every day by some mysterious seller."
"Limited new taste of Dango Milk" Now that took Ei's attention as she widened her eyes. "I don't know that Dango finally has a new flavor, what flavor is it?"
"I don't know" Miko answered and with that Ei's shoulder dropped with disappointment.
"Your joke is not funny, Miko"
"First of all I am not joking," Miko then takes another stack of papers, the new volume of light novel she needs to review. There were also a few stacks of papers for different Light Novels beside Miko. "There was more gossip regarding this new flavor, but I would not want my dear friend to make any rash decisions like running around market and asked every sweet shop and vendor about this new flavor, if foreign tourists see the Archon herself disturb the peace in her own country they probably start to spread bad rumor about you even start to make some research that the reason Inazuma suffer is because Shogun incompetent like the study paper written by someone in Sumeru i talked about few weeks ago" Yae Miko continue, ignorant the hurt in Ei expression hearing her explanation as she busy reading the new volume of the light novel.
"Why are you making it seem like I'm an irresponsible idiot?" Ei asked, trying to defend her pride from Yae's hurtful comment.
"From what you've done for at least these 500 years before can be considered as idiotic then yes, my answer is yes, you are irresponsible idiot, a lovely idiot friend of mine" Miko without any hesitant answer, even with her try to make joke of her answer in the end, Ei still feel hurt by her answer.
" more than 500 years" Ei thought back at her own memories when she decided to lock herself up in her own mind and another 500 years more battling with Shogun, Only The Traveler and Paimon knowing about this. She never tells Yae, Ei is already tired hearing her complain regarding decisions from more than 500 years ago. She doesn't want to know what if she knows about that, thankfully Aether and Paimon promise to keep their mouths shut, never tell her that.
But even if Miko forbade her to search for this new flavor, Ei just needed to ignore her as usual.
"But if you still want to search for a rumor regarding this new flavor just do it, there is no need for me to be involved, Ei" the Kitsune smoothly opens the sheet of another paper without missing a beat, while also conveniently telling her that she can do it. "Either way, there doesn't seem to be much I can do to stop you. It would be annoying to stop you when you already made up your mind about something also given my situation regarding your agreement with head clan"
"Then why do you tell me about those new flavor of Dango Milk?' Ei asked, she sometimes doesn't understand what Miko plans to do.
"Because I care about you, Ei" Miko answered as she looked at Ei again, with a sincere smile on her lips. "You already do your duty as Shogun more than your Puppet and busying yourself with those Politics and self-important Head clans must stress you out, so why not take a holiday for a week for yourself at least?"
At first, Ei only showed a flat expression before slowly a smile began to form on her face, it's not long before Ei hugged Miko.
"Thank you very much Miko! I really, really need time for myself, all those politics and planning stressed me out" after a few moments Ei let go of the hug as Miko looked at her with a cold stare.
Ei was surprised in response before she realized the reason why Miko gave her that look. She accidentally nudged the Papers stack of Miko Light Novels and her own agreement making them fall apart and become disheveled "Since Your highness is still so energetic this time, perhaps you could help me deal with this mess you Made before your vacation begins tomorrow"
Ei's eyes begged the Kitsune for mercy and forgiveness but to no avail.
"...I Will help you"
"Good, and don't eat those Milk Dangos you hidden in your room before sleep, Shogun already complaint to me before that her tooth start to show sign of decay, and no I don't know the answer why she tell me that not to you probably the reason is you just ignoring her request again "

Tomorrow she Will be free but today she needs to work her bones again.

Time goes by slowly, Ei can see that the sun has set when she finally arranges all the papers accordingly. Ei sighed. She really needs to stop thinking about that and focus on what she should do regarding the rumor about the Limited new flavor of Dango Milk during her vacation tomorrow.

Ei continued to think about her plan tomorrow without realizing that she was already inside her room. She blinked a few times to make sure that she Indeed in her room and not hallucinating.
" I must be too tired without realizing I'm already inside my own room" Ei thought before she decided it's time for her to Sleep. Ei ever since decided to put her consciousness inside the sword technically has no need for sleep but it's a good way to improve her mood and spend the night.
She wakes up before the sun rises.
First day of her vacation, Ei smiles as she tidies up her futon before walking to the training ground for a few simple warm ups.
The air around this hour is fresh, so it's the perfect time for her warm ups. No matter how skilled she is or how her body is not that of flesh anymore, warm ups before the start of the day are a must.

The old sweet lady who sells the traditional dango also didn't know, she even asked the dog who guard called tea-something shop but no clue at all.
The last place she still hasn't asked is just some vendor who only sells the usual Dango Milk but she didn't expect much from that place at all.
Ei continued walking while thinking where she would get a clue before she felt something bump against her breast.
"Hey, be careful where you walk!" Ei looked toward the kid she just bumped into. The kid awfully looked familiar.
"Ah, i am very sorry" Ei apologizes after she is the one who bumps into him. The kid looked at her with fear in his eyes, understandable her bad reputation caused by her. Shogun's fault fell on her responsibility after all. Before the kid stood up and ran as fast as he could.
Ei sighed, she understood that her people were still afraid of her but to run just because she accidently bumped into him? She really needs work to do regarding how the public sees her, huh. Wait, that kid leaves his Dango Milk!.
Ei thought for a moment, this is it!. If she returns the Dango Milks to the child and apologizes to him, maybe she can raise the public's opinion of her.
Also the kid perhaps know rumor regarding limited new flavor Dango Milk too.
So two birds with one stone.
And with that in her mind, Ei takes the Dango Milk the kid leaves with her and then…runs after him.
Unknowingly to Ei right now, she will remember the forgotten memory regarding her first puppet and that same puppet will be her husband in the future.
Makoto ran as fast as he could, he looked behind him as he continued to run, there he could see his mother running after him and getting closer every second.
" Why does she keep chasing me!?" He thought, sooner or later he would be caught by her. If it's already reached this point here, he needs to use his vision. As soon as his Vision flashed, his hat disappeared and was replaced by two blue circles that lifted him off the ground, he flew. He flew faster than he could run.
But then something grabbed his ankle, and pulled him down at the same time two blue circles which made him fly gone and his hat returned to its original place, on his head. Before he could fall on the hard ground surface, someone caught him, one arm under his legs and the other supporting his back like a groom carrying his wife or by short he is in a bridal carry position right now.
He looked at the person who caught him but he was not happy or something like that, he was furious.
"Sorry, i thought by holding your ankle i could catch you without any problems, apparently that caused you to fall but luckily i managed to catch you…" she stopped momentary as she pay more attention to his body to find whether there are wounds or the like "but Thankfully you didn't get hurt at all."
"Can you drop me!?" Makoto snapped, it's already humiliating that he cannot run fast enough from his mother but to be bridal-carry by her too.
"Oh, yeah right" She lowered him slowly, one leg then another leg. Makoto stood and checked his body to find that there were no wounds at all. It would be bad if his mother noticed that his body cracked instead of bleeding like many mortals. Fortunately his body is really durable.

Makoto noticed that there is a new 'window' different from before. This time he and the world around him don't stop moving at all, also this 'window' is much smaller than before and located at upper right at the corner of his vision so that it doesn't obstruct his vision at all.
He turned his gaze from the new 'window' to his mother. "What's your problem!? Just because you are Shogun and Electro Archon you can free chase someone because they ran away from you" Makoto snarled at Ei who just confused why he was so negative toward her. Do people have such a bad opinion of her these days?.
"Sorry" Ei said but it's still not enough to calm him down. "I just want to return this to you" she continued as she gave him the package containing Dango Milk that was left earlier.
Makoto's eyes widened for a moment before his eyes sharpened back her, there was a suspicion in his eyes right now.
"Why?" He asked, he could not believe that in front of him right now was the Raiden Shogun he knew.
She blinked a few times hearing his question, confused why he even asked that in the first place. Ei thought for a moment before giving her answer.
"Because it's the right thing to do," she answered without any hesitation. Returning the goods to its owner is the right thing after all. Nothing more, nothing less.
Makoto, hearing that just sighed, why did he even bother asking her that. He then takes the package containing Dango Milks from her hands.
He checked it and found none of it's broke or gone.
"Bye, I hope we don't need to meet again if it's not necessary, again" He said, ignoring the fact that Teyvat will end if he doesn't woo his mother within 30 days. Just before he could leave, Ei asked something to him.
"Kid, can I ask you something before you leave?"
Makoto sighed "and what do you want to ask"
"Where can I find Limited New flavor of Dango Milk?" His mother asked him. As she finished her question, the world stopped again and the usual 'Window' popped out again too. Makoto's desire to kill whoever is behind this starts to rise again.

"Ah i see, i understand" She replied but before she can turned her back from him, he continue "But i know with whom we can talk about that"
"Ooh, who?" Ei excitedly asks him. It's not wrong to chase after him after all.

Chapter TextAether was annoyed. A little worried too as he looked toward the near empty of his wallet. But he would never admit that to everyone. Even himself. That he is broke.
So yeah, he was just annoyed and a little worried.
"Munch munch" the chewing sound of someone who flies beside him. He looked toward the flying child who was the source of the sound, Paimon who filled her mouth with dango and other sweets.
The sweets she buys using his Mora!.
"Paimon" Aether slightly shake Paimon hand to take her attention from food to him "How much Mora have you spent on these sweets?"
The flying Child who he had given his precious Mora to buy enough food for their next trip but instead almost spent all the money buying sweets, she didn't even give him anything!.
"Huh?" Paimon looked with confusion on her face and Aether already understood what that meant.
He sighed. He doesn't have to blame Paimon, the fault is on him for trusting Paimon with his Mora to begin with.
Then Paimon swallow everything on her mouth before put all the sweets on her hands to her mouth and swallow it too before she say "hehehe, Paimon so sorry, Traveler know right Paimon will forget everything if she smell Delicious food and sweet"
Paimon sounded sheepish as she pressed her index finger together, looking away from him shyly. Aether ignored what she said as he noticed there remaining sweets crumbs on her cheeks before he cleaned them with his finger.
"Ah! Thank you Traveler, Paimon is grateful, you know insects really like to bite Paimon when there is a food crumb on Paimon—" She explained cheerfully, waving her hands.
" Cute" Aether thought as he looked at Paimon, the little girl Indeed has a gluttonous and greedy personality but it's also balanced with her cute, childish and caring personality. " Seeing her like this everyday is quite pleasant"
But it's not change the fact that they lack the sufficient quantity and quality of food and water for their next adventure. He is confident that the rest of Mora left in his pocket enough to buy ingredients in bulk and he also can hunt for the rest. But ' Surviving in the wild with food and equipment we can buy with this money isn't impossible…but the quality is the main problem.' Both him and Paimon, especially Paimon, are quite picky about food they consume.
Paimon will eat anything as long as it's tasty, he still remembers that time she complained non-stop about the lack of taste in their food they ate during their first sail to Inazuma. For him It's fresh salad accompanied with like; eggs, sausage or something light.
Aether dispassionately looked at the price of each food ingredient of each stall and continued to become more disappointed as he looked toward the price of fresh vegetables. The side-effects of the war which ended last year still affected much of the Inazuma market to this day, proved by how expensive certain food ingredients and imported goods are.
Though he may hope Ei or at least Yae can handle this problem as fast as possible, he always whines every time he needs to buy something in Inazuma.
Not only the prices that make Aether's wallet empty, the environment and the danger lurking in the Inazuma wilderness also make him more uncomfortable and paranoid than the wilderness of other nations. Even the weather always changes uncontrollably even after Ei disperse her own Storm.
"Aether, look" Paimon pointed at something. "There!, look!'
Further explanation wasn't required. He can see what Paimon pointed perfectly fine with his eyes.
Two people that once made him miserable, The female with her long purple hair who nearly cut him in two before chasing the smaller male whom defeated him for 167 times who he named as Makoto –thankfully, Wanderer don't know the reason why he name him that, with his usual big hat who tries as hard as he can to run away from the taller female.
"What the…" before he can end his sentence both of them are already gone from his vision.
"Traveler, did Paimon just see Ei chasing Makoto?" Paimon asked him as she couldn't believe what she just Saw.
"Yes" He answered honestly, he was pretty sure Wanderer was still in Sumeru before why could he end up in Inazuma? He is pretty sure Wanderer or should he start to call him Makoto too? Yes He should, After all He is the one who gave him that name and he is also pretty sure Makoto doesn't want to take the interest from Ei or Yae at all.
But Aether then decided it's not his problem at all, his priority right now is Food and other things he needs to buy.
Aether sighed again as he looked at his diminished wallet.
If only someone can lend them money.
Makoto looked toward a small Map in the left of his vision, he can clearly see the simplistic path of the Map and two red marks. They already talked with the first person, now he just needs to talk with the two remaining with to find the clues regarding this new flavor of Dango Milk.

"Who?" Ei asked. Forget it, the Oni is just an idiot.
The green haired Kunoichi nearly instantly grabbed the Oni head and forced him to bow together with her "I'm sorry about his behaviour, Shogun-sama. Please forgive him"
He looked at his mother, she looked confused. Before she said "Stand, there is no need for both of you to bow at me."
The Oni hearing that instantly stands proud with his thumb pointing at himself. "So what the Shogun wants with the great arataki itto!"
And with that the green haired Kunoichi elbowed the man on his ribs.
