C25: Clearing the Chapel Area pt1

----------------------------------------------
The night passed quite slowly as I made my return to the Oedon Chapel. Though not before spending the rest of my 190k. I do so by buying a few more beads and coins for echo drops and item discovery but then the rest go into my physique skill.
[Blood-hunter Physique has gained the required essence to be upgraded. Level 1-> level 2]
The doll was quite confused by this sensation as according to her own words, this lies outside the realm of blood echoes but can still be affected by it. I'm only sad that I was only able to upgrade each category by one point each as the price was higher than before. Likely due to actually being higher valued now. But I just barely made the cut with only 300 echoes left to my name.
After that, I teleported back to the Oedon Chapel and began to move to the healing church workshop once more.
"This is going to be annoying for my neck and back" I mutter in annoyance as I bend over to get under the door frame and to the elevator going up once more and clearing the way until I reach the lower broken area. Dropping down like I did last time, I soon got the last major drop and this time, I only took half as much damage as I did before. Feeling quite satisfied at my new reflexes skill kicking in to reduce damage, that and maybe some hidden stat from my physique, though I cant tell for sure as it would definitely not be something related to the game. I then dropped the rest down without jumping or rolling to the side slabs of wood.
I activate the halo to see if it can actually heal normal damage too but seeing my stamina drain and nothing else going up, I turn it back off with some slight disappointment.
I then cleared out the pack of three: two huntsmen and one dog before taking down the snatcher that had beaten me down in the first place. Oh the other dog and two crows too. I only pick up a few blood vials from the enemies and twin shards from the snatcher before collecting a madman's knowledge. Exploring the rest of this area, I soon go down some stairs to a well where I find another cthulhu looking brain sucker, beating it down by grabbing it's extended nozzle whatever it is and slamming it down onto the ground like the hulk. I take it down and collect the fire gemstone (3) here before going back up some steps to and then clearing two more huntsmen and a random dog in an alleyway, the same one I picked up sweaty clothes from when I was first here.
Continuing, I find an elevator that brings me up. I get to an elevated area overlooking a large gate that is actually the shortcut area back to Oedon Chapel. Collecting the thick cold blood (6), I drop down and open up the gate by pulling the lever. I take care of the three church servants. Some nice echoes from them but since I had just come back from Yahar'gul, it isn't really anything impressive, id have to go pretty far by now to reach a similar grindable environment.
For now though, I travel to the main staircase to the top where I pick up a thick coldblood (5) lying around before walking around the steps and finding a dog and another coldblood of the same type.
Boom, phew
I duck my head as a gunshot comes flying near me. Spotting another servant but this one with a gun. I rush up the stairs and the idiot drops down for some reason. I take him down and get some more bullets.
Im actually low on bullets due to my grind session. Down to just 7 shots overall and now back up to 10 from the three I got from this idiot. Another servant comes down the stairs, this one has a scythe but I snatch it and kill him with it instead. Only uses a bit more stamina than normal since it's not a hunter weapon I can actually upgrade….or can I?
With an idea in my mind, I store the scythe away since it does look pretty cool and fits my current size too. Granted my normal weapons also grew in size to match me, ill blame the system for that convenience.
For now though, i go back down the stairs and open the gate to the central area with a big central pillar and two church giants roaming around. Getting three madmans around the center pillar. I took down one giant by directly breaking its leg at the knee in one blow, forcing it to fall over onto it's other knee as I stabbed my hand into its chest, killing it as I tore out its heart. Then repeated this with the other one before getting two more madmen's knowledge.
With that second giant, I had once again attempted to grab at whatever was that ghostly sensation I felt before. Once again my hand had recoiled upon contact and I used the halo to fix the damage but realized that while it fixs the spiritual damage, the effect that spirit damage had done to my body was not healed. Leaving me still with the dull ache in my chest that grows with the less health I have.
My disappointment was immeasurable and my night was ruined.
As for the madman's knowledge, I have quite a few of these now, and could splurge a bit. Granted I don't have anything else that is actually really worth it at this time. I don't want to over-saturate my body or anything like that as just dumping the bunch of stamina skills is somewhat making me feel bloated.
"Do I have to upgrade my physique or body to make more room or something? Would merging a bunch of skills like I did before help with this or just make it worse?" I mutter to myself as I then use the lever on this side to open up the gate that would have required the chief hunter emblem.
'System, can I get refunds for the emblem I bought from you?' I ask and I get a response.
[No]
'Stingy system.' I curse it as i make my way down, taking out the other church giant near a side path here that I am about to explore , though not before clearing the main path back to the chapel, aka the two church servants near where that Amygdala is hovering around.
Clearing the area and giving the middle finger to the creepy pasta ugly there. I returned to the hunt, hurriedly I might say, totally not because the Amygdala saw me, understood the gesture and gave me brain damage as a result. Nope, that totally didn't happen. I'm using the Solar Halo because I fisted the church servants and touched the thingy that hurt my spirit. Yup , that's totally what happened and you cant change my mind about it.
Going through the gate, I walk down some steps with the praying statues laid out along the path. Getting to a clearing, I take down two 'brutes' before taking out two crows that tried to ambush me. Reaching the end of the current path as the entire thing is crumbled away, I pick up the monocular before looking around and going down a side path where I kill another crow by a tree and get 3 bloodstone shards also by said tree.
Then I approached a church giant that was just sitting there with a giant axe in hand. It notices me but doesnt do anything. Shrugging I leave the gentle giant alone as I pick up the other 3 bloodstone shards here. Yet as I do, I hear a rumbling.
Turning around, I find the giant behind me had gotten up and was lifting his axe over his head at me.
"Traitor. I granted thee mercy and thou has spitheth in my face" I monologue as I spread my arms wide, seemingly embracing my death yet as the swing comes in, I dodge roll out of the way and break the giant's arms as repayment for my mercy. With his arms broken and no longer able to wield his axe. I pocket it.
This seems to enrage it as it tries to stomp on me and I break its leg in compensation before finishing it off so it no longer has to suffer.
"Goodness, I'm so merciful" I sweep my hair as I mix my head piece. Picking up some vials. I go down the stairs here and find myself in another room filled with pots stacked up on various levels of stands.
I pull a pro gamer move and shatter all of them on one side like dominos. I did this by shuffling them a bit closer together and then pushing the top most one at a corner angle so that it knocks over both the lower level one, the one beside itself and others.
I breathe in and clasp my hands together, "thank you for your service" I say to the now broken jars on this side before I replicate it again on the other side, that satisfying crunch as they all shatter against each other.
Coming off of my miniature high, I go down the hall to a chest with a Tempering blood gemstone(1). There is also a normal door here but it's locked. While my last experience with trying to break down doors was a bust as it caused me to be gangbanged by my kidnappers. This time around, there is no enemy nearby and I'm technically underground in a crypt.
So I got to banging.
Using the Tontritus, I shocked the door before began whalloping the hinges of the door as well as the door handle itself.
It took far longer than I'd hope to admit that I gave up on this as it proved fruitless. I spent about half an hour banging on this piece of junk before getting bored rather than tired of doing this. So i just walked back up the stairs and taking in the scenery. I realized that I could just go over the fences here and then drop down to the area below which likely led to the other side of said door. Though this is a plan for later as I turn back and return to the central area where I had unlocked the chief hunter badge gate.
Turning left, I take down a church servant and crow here along with collecting a thick coldblood(4) here before heading further in and getting 12 poison knives. Nice. Walking along the tunneling path down to street level. I have the option of going left or right. Looking both ways, I spot that the left is just some houses with lanterns by them while the other right is a fog filled hallway with a few lanterns there too.
I go left first and talk to the man inside by his window.
"Well, what are you on about. Aren't you a hunter, get to hunting." The man rudely states as he turns away from me. I choose to do something new as a form of entertainment.
Just to screw with him, I hang around his window and he turns around again with confusion on his face.
"What are you hanging around here for? Get to stepping ya mucker, there are beasts about to be hunted." He angrily tries to shoo me off but I only grin as I adjust my posture.
Pressing myself against the iron bars of the window, my voice lowering into a coquettish tone as I speak back to the man. "Oh don't you worry, the only beast around is the one in our pants. I say, your voice has really riled me up. How about becoming my partner…we can 'take care of each other' out here. Nobody will disturb us"
"What in the blazes are you on about. Begone from here you hell spawn of depravity" The man curses me out before taking his candlestick with him and walking away so he cant see me.
I Burst out laughing at his idiocy. With my headpiece covering my face and bulky clothes, he couldn't tell who or what I was and so I pulled a little trick on him to essentially tell him to fuck off.
"Ah stupid ass bastard, thats what you get for being rude for no reason. Only one interested in you would be a masochist for insults or a fellow retard like yourself" I curse the idiot alout as i continued laughing.
