Chapter 103 - Chapter 103: Venom Batman

Batman pushed Peter Parker's body to its absolute limit, sprinting at a blistering speed exceeding 220 kilometers per hour.

With his elbow raised, the force concentrated almost entirely at its tip, the destructive power he generated far surpassed that of a car moving at the same speed.

Yet the solid impact did nothing to harm the sinister creature. The sensation Batman anticipated—bones shattering under his strike—never came. Instead, it felt like colliding with a thick, resilient slab of rubber.

"Roar!"

Venom bent one knee forward, muscles tensing in its other leg, and let out a guttural bellow from its gaping, toothy maw, directed at Batman.

Batman's expression remained impassive. The Prophet AI automatically lowered the white protective lenses over his eyes, their faint glow replacing the dark voids of his pupils.

"What kind of creature are you?" Batman's voice was low and steady.

"Grrraaah—I am Venom, and you're a little snack." Venom's jagged-toothed grin widened as it let out a menacing growl. "Stay out of my way. I'm looking for someone—Martin Li."

Batman's muscles tensed, though he didn't adopt a fighting stance. He was already fully prepared for combat.

"Whoever you're looking for, you shouldn't—"

"ROAR!"

Before Batman could finish, Venom let out a ferocious bellow and charged.

Venom's attack was crude, brutal, and direct. One of its fists hardened in an instant, transforming into a hammer-like bludgeon that swung straight for Batman's head.

Batman remained calm, sidestepping the blow with precise footwork. His eyes never left Venom, locked onto its every move.

"Its body can shapeshift. The earlier collision proved Venom's exceptional resilience, possibly exhibiting non-Newtonian fluid traits. A slow but forceful approach might subdue it, but I need to test this hypothesis first."

"Execute Plan A."

Batman was never reckless. His combat style was built on a foundation of meticulous plans, both grand and minute.

In the blink of an eye, Batman dodged Venom's onslaught more than a dozen times.

Venom's attacks were relentless: its hands morphed into hammers, blades, or elongated claws; tentacles sprouted from its back and chest. Its methods were endlessly varied.

Batman continued evading while firing black webbing in all directions, maintaining the fight within the confines of the small garden.

The webbing gradually wove into an airtight net, tightening around Venom under Batman's control, constricting with deliberate force.

"Slow but forceful" didn't mean close-quarters brawling or snapping Venom's limbs. Instead, Batman used the webbing to achieve his goal.

Hand-to-hand combat was the last resort. The moment he'd sent Venom crashing out of the orphanage, Batman had already made that judgment.

But Venom merely flicked its tongue between the webbing. The strands binding its body began to meld into it, and Venom simply stepped out of the web with ease.

"Standard cutting and binding ineffective. Plan A failed. Proceed with Plan B."

Before Venom could launch another attack after breaking free, Batman raised his hand and launched three batarangs in rapid succession, striking Venom's eyes, mouth, and chest almost simultaneously.

"Pfft."

Venom's mouth twisted outward, spitting out the batarang lodged in it. It raised its hands, yanking the others from its eyes and chest.

"Revise earlier hypothesis: the batarang embedded in its chest indicates Venom's body is highly resilient but not a non-Newtonian fluid."

"Its eyes aren't a weak point and seem impervious to pain."

"Based on its mouth structure, Venom exhibits some biological traits, but its outer skin, including the eyes, isn't a vulnerability. The skin's metallic sheen combines with extreme toughness."

"Brief contact suggests Venom has no obvious weaknesses. Proceed with Plans C and D."

The last opponent Batman faced with traits similar to Venom was Gotham's Clayface—another shapeshifter who seemed invincible at first glance.

But after battling Clayface, Batman discovered the villain wasn't without weaknesses. Extreme cold and dryness rendered Clayface's abilities useless, and he ultimately fell to the anti-Clayface suit Batman had prepared.

Plan C: Since Venom's eyes weren't a weak point, it likely relied on alternative sensory mechanisms rather than vision. Deploy the bat-signal emitter to summon bats, creating sensory overload through mass interference.

Plan D: Adjust the webbing formula to increase its stickiness, testing whether it could strip away Venom's viscous, slime-like substance, supplemented by hardening gel.

Whoosh!

A batarang slipped from Batman's hand, as if by accident, clattering to the ground.

Batman shifted his footing, reaching back to his utility belt and retrieving a pre-prepared webbing cartridge. In a flash, he swapped it into his gauntlet's webbing mechanism.

Time was tight. Batman hadn't added the component to darken the webbing, so pure white strands shot from his gauntlet, snapping onto Venom's body with a thwack.

Simultaneously, Batman's seemingly casual step landed on the fallen batarang, triggering the bat-signal emitter in the sole of his combat boot.

Snap, snap, snap…

A barrage of webbing erupted from Batman's gauntlet, latching onto one of Venom's legs.

At the same time, Batman pulled hardening gel canisters from his belt, tossing them at Venom's other foot. They burst on impact, the liquid gel rapidly expanding and solidifying in contact with the air, anchoring Venom's leg in place.

Crack!

A sound like snapping rubber bands rang out as the white webbing, exerting over thirty tons of force, began peeling away the viscous black substance from Venom's leg.

But in an instant, the stripped section split into two. One part remained stuck to the webbing, while the other leaped back toward Venom's leg.

In that split second, Batman activated Plan E. Modified pumpkin bombs—now flashbangs—engraved with the bat symbol clattered to the ground.

A moment later, blinding white light, high-frequency noise, and a concussive shockwave erupted in the small garden.

"HISSS!"

The Arkham suit shielded Batman from the flashbang's effects, but Venom let out a piercing scream.

Amid the white glare, Venom's body rapidly expanded, its form twisting into an irregular, sponge-like lattice, exposing the human inside—Eddie Brock—screaming in agony.

"AHH!"

Through the Arkham suit's protective lenses and sonar, Batman saw the human within Venom. Without hesitation, he fired a web strand, threading it through the gaps in Venom's bloated form and seizing Eddie.

With a forceful yank, Batman wrenched Eddie Brock free from Venom's body.

"No! Let me go back!"

Eddie screamed, struggling to lunge toward the Venom mass left behind.

At the same time, the hostless Venom surged toward Eddie—then past him, vanishing onto Batman's body.
