2.Foolish Creep (2)
"Your name is… Lucian, Lucian Noe Mikaela."
That's the last thing Lucian heard before he lost consciousness again. Then, like waves on the shore, his consciousness kept coming and going. Each time, his vision's blurriness started to get better and better.
He felt like he was floating in endless but warm darkness. When the waves slowly receded and became calm, he started to regather whatever was left within him.
He slowly remembered what had happened, what kind of person he was, what kind of accident had happened. There were still a lot of holes, but he slowly filled them, though he was still unable to remember the cause of the accident in the first place. Despite remembering the accident, the aftermath, and the struggle, he didn't remember the cause.
'Maybe I just need more time,' he thought as a sound entered his ears.
"Look! Lucian, so cutee~"
His blurry vision that had started to refocus found a beautiful woman with long black hair. She seemed familiar, then it clicked — she was the woman he had seen before despite the blurry image from earlier, and now he was able to see her figure. Even when he was still in his waves of awake and sleep, he could see her figure all the time.
Now, Lucian was able to see the figure more clearly. She was as beautiful as an idol — no, maybe even more than that, like a perfect 2D character just came out of its world and was adjusted to the 3D world without losing any of its perfection. Well, at least from his eyes; he had never seen anyone more beautiful than her. There was no longer any sign of tiredness on her face. Instead, a youthful, spirited, rosy, bright, and happy expression was looking at him from above.
Then Lucian heard another voice beside the 2D woman.
"Ohh!" he shouted excitedly. "Call me Papa!" It was a blonde-haired man with the perfect build — muscle, not too thin but also not too muscular, his face as if it was sculpted by God himself. In other words, he was a 2D man from Shoujo Manga/Anime.
'So bright!!' Lucian was unable to contain his thoughts.
This 2D man and woman looked like a match made in heaven, and they were actually paired as the 2D man lovingly embraced the 2D woman, at least if they weren't cheating on each other's back. They really did look picturesque.
"Dummy~ there's no way Lucian can do that," the 2D woman softly reprimanded.
"Ahaha, sorry, sorry, I'm just too excited," the 2D man replied.
Lucian had seen enough tropes to know what happened to him by this point.
'It seemed it won't be long before I got a sister,' he thought as the tiredness once again fell on him, and he once again fell into slumber. 'Hehehe, my harem…' A wide smile appeared on his face.
Yes, he was a foolish creep.
***
It's been some time since Lucian understood his situation. The kind-looking Asian woman with black hair and an attractive appearance overall is his mother, Misha Obscaren. On the other hand, the honest-looking handsome man with blonde hair is his father, Clive Mikaela.
Besides Lucian's parents, he also saw some people who came to visit, and they all weirdly spoke English though. So at least I can understand what they say even though English is not my mother tongue.
It was a boring life. Lucian couldn't move much with this baby's body. Holding out and stretching his arms was all that he could do. Most of his time as a baby was used to sleep. Besides that, he spent all the rest of his time moving and turning his body around. He heard babies' cries to practice their vocal cords.
'don't ask where I heard it! I don't remember' that's why he's not shy to cry when calling for help.
But of course, he doesn't unreasonably cry in the middle of the night unless he really needs their help, which is rare. Lucian is sure everyone who saw him will agree that he's a super calm baby and easy to care for.
The only problem bugging him now is whether he was reincarnated into this world as a baby and remembered his previous life, or he took this body's real soul.
After a while, Lucian decided not to think about it too much, but it was not that easy; it still bothers him somehow. He just hopes the answer is the first so that he's not guilty to his current parents.
As he lived his new life, he realized that, strangely, everything around him — the furniture, buildings, and clothes — is all similar to those in his old world.
With that proof, Lucian knows he's not reincarnated in the Middle Ages, but in the 20th century. This way, he didn't have to worry about hygiene, diseases, and other things. But sadly, there was still no sign of his parents or the people around them using magic or swords — the ones he dreamed of the most.
Six months have passed.
Lucian can finally say goodbye to his boring life. Or so he thought.
It looks like his hard work did pay off beautifully, since he could now crawl around.
Lucian's sleep time is still the same as before, but he could move more freely in this room. He checked all the things in this room one by one, as he thought all the items were similar to the needs of babies in his old world; the words were written in English. Could this really be the ability of translation magic? He's starting to become suspicious of his new world.
Lucian's new father, Clive, is rarely in his room. Maybe Clive came when he was asleep, but as far as Lucian knows, when he woke up, his new mother Misha was always beside him. Maybe Misha wasn't working? He still doesn't know anything. And after a short excitement about being able to move around, his life became dull again.
"Welcome home, my boring life..."
Another six months had passed.
'At last!' Lucian shouted, moved by his feelings. He was finally able to step out of his room by himself. It was a bit shaky, but he was definitely walking. Besides that,
"Ma, ma," he was able to talk too. Well, he was able to talk or just make some noise like this for a while. But 'isn't this more dramatic?' — so he talked about it only now.
Thanks to his dramatic entrance, Misha squealed like a child, hugging him while laughing out loud. Then from behind her, Clive also joined the family hug.
Lucian could feel his new father's fiery gaze on him, waiting for him to call him too, just like he did with his mother. Sadly, Lucian might be kind to his mother, but not his father.
'After all, I'm a mama's boy…' Lucian fell silent, speechless for a moment. 'That sounds so wrong,' he thought, throwing whatever that shit to the trash can outside.
Lucian turned his face away in slight disgust, not knowing his father was the one who felt the pain.
"Noooo!" Clive's screams echoed.
…
With a newfound freedom, Lucian also started his new journey around the house. Mostly the same as when he was able to crawl around the house, nothing much had changed. The furniture in the house, electronic goods, or other items were mostly the same as what he knew. He already knew how to use everything there. Nothing new.
Another suspicious point was staked on his heart.
No, actually Lucian already knew about it. He had already realized it with every hint given to him, but he just didn't want to accept the reality. After all, he was reincarnated! His parents were like someone who came out of anime.
Dun dun Dun Duunn…
A familiar sound.
"Back to the world news! Today's latest news: America's newest presidential election has begun, with presidential candidate number 1…"
Lucian slowly but surely was woken up from his dreams. One year is already long enough to dream.
"Next, we have an earthquake in Japan with 2.6 on the Richter scale. Luckily, there are no casualties…"
It's time to wake up.
"Lucian?" Misha called to her son, who suddenly became strange.
"Then, we have…" The news sound no longer entered Lucian's ears.
'I dreamed long enough, time to wake up.' He sat down on the spot.
"Lucian!"
