Chapter 95 - Chapter 95

Tokyo—

The neon-lit food street of Tokyo buzzed with the evening crowd. Stalls sold takoyaki, grilled squid, skewers, and sweet treats. The smell of fried seafood and sweet sauces hung thick in the air.

Saturo Gojo moved effortlessly through the crowd, holding a grilled squid in one hand, a scoop of ice cream in the other, and a ham sausage clenched between his teeth.

After handling the mess with the Chitanda family, he decided to satisfy his appetite.

With the ham sausage swallowed, he took a bite of the squid, occasionally dipping his spoon into the ice cream.

The potential for tomorrow morning's digestive consequences didn't bother him in the slightest.

After all, one can always use the Reversal Technique for emergencies, he thought with a smirk.

{T/N: Don't know if it work or not but lets just say it does since all his abilities are growing}

"Huh?"

Suddenly, his eyes lit up.

"Isn't that… Shizuka?"

Across the street, in a small ramen shop, Hiratsuka Shizuka slurped noodles enthusiastically, her face full of contentment.

Gojo's grin widened.

Carefully tossing the grilled squid aside and leaving only the ice cream, he walked toward the ramen shop.

He pushed the door open.

"Welcome!" a waiter greeted politely.

Gojo nodded, as he talk with the waiter about something, after which he calmly made his way towards Hiratsuka's table.

After sitting down beside her, he set down his ice cream, propped his cheek on his hand, and said with a teasing smile,

"Yo, isn't this Shizuka… looking adorable today?"

Hiratsuka froze, chopsticks midway to her mouth.

"G-Gojo?!" she stammered, a mixture of surprise and exasperation flashing across her face.

"The one and only," he replied with a satisfied nod, clearly enjoying her reaction.

"Why… aren't you at home?" Hiratsuka asked cautiously, setting down her chopsticks.

They had known each other for over half a year now, and she was familiar with Gojo's habits.

Sitting idly at home to eat dessert and watch TV was one of his usual routine. Could it be… an illusion? Maybe because of his work, He is an Onmyoji, after all.

Hiratsuka furrowed her brow, concern creeping into her voice as she reached toward him instinctively.

"Are you… hurt?"

Gojo gave a faint grimace, his left hand gripping his shoulder as if to punctuate a minor pain.

"A small injury," he admitted lightly. "Nothing serious."

Hiratsuka's eyes softened, but she quickly withdrew her hand, not wanting to embarrass herself or make a scene. Not that it's matter—he's just… Gojo.

Returning her focus to the ramen, she sighed, slightly embarrassed.

"I… I haven't really done my job as a girlfriend," she admitted softly, stirring her noodles absentmindedly.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean… we've been dating for months, but I've never really taken you out properly," she confessed.

{T/N: You both are dating???? 😐}

"Most weekends, I either sleep or drink tea alone. Even last time, when you came over, I had to leave because of my father. I feel… inadequate."

Gojo remained quiet for a moment, observing her.

Then, a gentle smile spread across his face. He reached out, wrapping his arms around her shoulder, drawing her closer for a light hug.

"So… this is the sudden awakening of my girlfriend's sense of responsibility?" he teased.

Hiratsuka didn't pull away. Instead, she leaned closer into his embrace, her voice soft.

"I just… I feel a little bad. I haven't fulfilled my role."

"Since you're feeling sorry… we'll fix that tonight, hehe," Gojo said, playful and decisive. Without waiting for a reply, he stood and gently lifted her in his arms.

"W-Wait! I haven't paid for the ramen yet!" Hiratsuka protested.

"It's fine, on the table," Gojo said with a wink. "Next time, we eat together."

With that, he stepped out of the shop, her arms instinctively wrapping around his waist.

{T/N: He has already paid}

.....

The neon lights gave way to the shadowy entrance of a dark alley. Gojo activated Limitless, and in an instant, they appeared on a wide, empty road, eerily familiar yet secluded.

Hiratsuka blinked, her grip loosening slightly as she surveyed the surroundings.

"This… this is…?" she whispered.

Gojo gently ran his hand through her long, soft hair.

"This is where we first met, Shizuka," he said softly.

Her eyes scanned the road, immediately noticing the faint, black tire marks along the asphalt.

Memories flooded back—the first drag race where she had brushed past Gojo, losing without even seeing his taillights.

The nostalgia made her smile wistfully.

"And tonight… you're going to do better, right? How about a race" Gojo's teasing voice rang in her ears.

"How, I didn't bring my car?" she replied with a small laugh, shaking her head.

When Gojo suddenly disappear.

Stunned— she look around as she turned, her eyes widened in surprise as she spotted the person.

Gojo grinned, while leaning against a Kawasaki motorcycle parked along the roadside. Beside it, a vibrant red sports car glimmered under the streetlights.

Her car.

"How… did you…?" she began, stunned.

"Don't overthink it, Shizu~~," Gojo said, stepping closer. He bent slightly, placing a finger gently over her lips.

"Now… do you want to race again? My Dear Girlfriend~."

Her cheeks flushed, her voice a whisper.

"Ah… definitely… my boyfriend…"

Hiratsuka smiled, a tear threatening to spill at the corner of her eye.

She may not be a perfect girlfriend—but Gojo's care, gentleness, and playful confidence made her heart swell.

Gojo laughed softly, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face.

"See? Being my girlfriend isn't about perfection—it's about enjoying the ride."

Hiratsuka leaned closer, resting her forehead against his chest.

"Even if I'm clumsy… even if I'm not perfect… are you happy to be with me?."

"I'm very happy to have you," Gojo murmured, tightening his arms around her. "Tonight… we make our own fun."

Her hands instinctively clutched his jacket, warmth spreading through her as the night air brushed past them.

Around them, the forest was quiet, but the memories of laughter, competition, and companionship filled the space with life.

For a moment, the chaos of the world—the demons, the Onmyoji duties, the endless battles—vanished. Here, in this quiet road between the trees, only the two of them existed.

Gojo's smirk returned, mischievous and tender all at once.

"So… ready for round two, my girlfriend?"

Hiratsuka laughed, the sound like a bell ringing through the forest. "Ready… my boyfriend."

And with that, they sprinted toward the sports car, the memories of their first meeting fueling the playful fire between them.

The night was young, and for once, it was theirs—just theirs.
