It explained how Theo was able to hear her after Aurelius bit her. And Zeke's double bite had heightened it. As long as the mark remained there, she would be able to hear the demon's voice whenever she spoke.
Speaking of the mate mark, Theo subtly ran her hands over it. It was the only feeling she still had of Zeke, and it was already fading. She deduced it'd be completely gone in two weeks.
She sat on her bed and closed her eyes, *Theodora,* She called.
She was answered with silence. It was long and uncomfortable. She didn't feel any shift in her soul. The demon either couldn't hear her, or intentionally ignored her.
