Theo felt the world tilting beneath her feet, and a multitude of emotions struck her all at once. Shock burned through her chest the moment the words spilt out, followed by a deep warmth - because this was Liam. Someone she had come to trust, to like, to lean on.
And then, guilt was next. Because she knew she could never give him what he wanted from her, and knowing that makes her feel like she's hurting him just by breathing.
She didn't know what to say. She didn't know what to do. She wished for it to be a joke, but he wouldn't take any joke this far.
