PROLOGUE

Nightfall Academy isn't your usual school-it's hell on earth.

Not the kind of hell you've read about. This is a school where rules are written in blood, fear, and power.

A place where the weak are treated like animals, and the strong are worshipped.

Your points determine your rank, your place, your survival, and your worth. How do you earn points? Not simple, believe me.

There are many ways, but the most important two are:

First, your family background. If you're from a mob dynasty, meaning if your parents own their own Mafia mob… congratulations. The moment you step in, 20 points are already yours.

If your parents are mafia assassins or nightwalkers...then 10 points will be yours.

If your parents are mafia guards or mobsters, 5 points all yours.

But if your parents are just a bloodline with no status, then sorry Zero point is yours.

Second, the duels. Every Month, open duels are held in front of all, including parents, where the students fight for points, for dominance, for survival.

A little introduction…

Nightfall Academy is a Mafia training ground. Only students from mafia bloodlines attends this school. Each session admits only one hundred students, and a new student can join mid-session only if someone dies, and there must be a replacement immediately.

But even among mafia bloodlines, rankings exist. Not everyone is equal.

There are five ranks in total:

Rank S – Alphas of Alphas

This rank is exclusive, reserved for only five students. They are untouchable, perfect, and the gods of the school. Even teachers and trainers have no authority over them. Their fighting skills, shooting skills, aura, presence, everything is already flawless. They are almost mythical, rarely seen, and feared by all.

Want a cheat code for points? Impress a Rank S, and you get 5–15 points instantly. But among them, one is so strong and goated that instead of 5-15 points, impressing him carries 30 points as the prize, but nobody has ever succeeded,it's like an impossible mission. So the students focus on the other Rank S members instead.

Rank A – The Royals

Elite fighters, the school's kings. They are strong, feared, and respected, but even they bow to the Alphas. On most days, because Rank S are rarely seen, Rank A rules the school.

Rank B – The Betas

Strong fighters, below the Alphas, Sometimes bullied by Rank A, but are still high enough in ranks because it's almost rare to see a Rank A bullying them tho.

Rank C – The Omegas

Upcoming fighters. Some barely escaped Rank D thanks to automatic points. They are bullied constantly, used as tools, or worse. They can fight Rank B if brave enough, but challenging Rank A or S? Instant death. Most simply accept their fate.

Rank D – The Dogs.

The lowest of the low. Not even considered human. Family status means nothing. They are slaves, toys, and victims of pain every day, ignored even by teachers.

Nightfall Academy isn't just a school. It's where sin is served like a meal, where every action is survival, where points are your ticket to escape torture.

Every week, points are displayed publicly, and overtaking is allowed.

This isn't an ordinary school. This is a battlefield. A playground for the ruthless. A proving ground where only the strong survive, and the clever thrive.

And the craziest part? As long as you are from the mafia bloodline, once you clock eighteen years of age,it is a must for you to attend this school,it's a part of the constitution for not just your future, but also for your parents position in the underground world.

Here, everyone is playing the Blood Games.

And may the best player win.

RUSSIA, CITY OF MOSCOW ~ 4PM*

"It's Sunday evening," Ruby breathed out, inhaling the cool air. She looked tired even though she was resting her back. She gently wound down the window to take in the Moscow city view.

It was Sunday, but the weather was so cool and cold, no hint of sun. Maybe it had been up there in the morning or noon, but it was already past four and everything looked like it might rain soon.

"Why? You're just realizing? It's been Sunday for like sixteen hours now or something," Ruby's sister, Sophie, who was driving, released a chuckle.

Ruby sighed.

She stared outside for a few more minutes before turning slightly to her sister.

"Do I really have to go? You didn't go, remember? Can't I escape just like..."

"Oh, please, not this again. We've talked about this. We both know the reason I escaped Nightfall is because we have different dads. Don't make it complicated. They came for you, Ruby, which means they know about you and you can't do anything about it. They expect you to carry on with your dad's legacy or..."

"He's dead though, sounds foolish to me. I don't wanna be a mafia. And it fucking sucks that I'll be spending the next five to six years there. A whole new city, new people. I don't like people," Ruby mumbled, staring at her nails. Not so long, just the average size, but they looked pretty.

"I know. And I swear, baby, if I could save you from all this I would. I'm scared too. I'm scared because I've heard news about that place and the things they do. I know you're nervous, and I feel useless…"

"I'm nervous and scared, but you shouldn't blame yourself. It's not your fault," Ruby sighed.

"But I trust you, Ruby. You're tough. I know you won't let them break you. You're one of the strongest girls I've ever seen..."

"Here comes the flattering," Ruby rolled her eyes, and Sophie laughed.

Once again, silence filled the car, only broken by the low music of a Rihanna song playing softly.

Ruby almost got lost staring when they finally got to the city. This was her first time in Moscow. She had lived all her life in small Kostroma, which felt like a village compared to Moscow.

The view, the aesthetics, the tall buildings, everything looked so good. Even the air smelled nice. The breeze blew through her hair so well she was almost tempted to let it down, but she resisted the temptation.

She never really cared about cities. As long as there was peace, Ruby was good. Although she had always wanted to visit Moscow–maybe just for fun and then return to her peaceful hometown.

Kostroma.

But now, her life was about to change completely. Not just the city, but the school. Sophie was right. They had heard about this school, and nothing good was ever said.

Ruby shook her head and closed her eyes again. Maybe the next time she woke up, they would already be at the school.

She vaguely heard Sophie's tiny voice telling her everything would be okay, but she didn't answer.

Not now.

*

NIGHTFALL ACADEMY*

Ruby and Sophia walked out of the principal's office together with the female principal, who Ruby had already marked as weird. She was quick to judge people, one of those who never believed in the phrase don't judge a book by its cover.

Whatever. Ruby would figure you out just by your voice, and that was on period.

Ruby rolled her eyes as the principal continued speaking with Sophie, nothing important. She even overheard her telling Sophie that students weren't allowed to use their phones, and Ruby finally had to interrupt.

"What do you mean? I can't use my phone? What about social media? I can't do without them. If you don't know, I'm fucking boring and I'm not good with people. I prefer my phone and music…"

"The school provides all the necessary electronics you might need. You have to drop your old phone tonight, Miss Ruby. The school phones can't be tracked by outsiders. We really care about safety and secrets here. I hope you understand," the principal said.

Once again, Ruby rolled her eyes.

If eyes could fall out from rolling, hers would have been gone by now.

They finally came to a stop where Sophie had to drop Ruby's bags and leave. After a five-minute hug, Ruby watched her sister walk away, leaving her with three bags dragging behind until the principal called a student over.

She watched the woman speak with the girl and then finally faced Ruby.

"You can follow him. He will lead you to your room. Here." The principal handed her a room key card and a book–like a small textbook.

But that wasn't Ruby's concern right now.

"You're a boy?" she blurted out.

The boy stared at her blankly, and Ruby could swear his natural lashes were three times longer than hers–yeah, naturally.

He wasn't dressed in a feminine way, just a baggy hoodie and joggers, but he looked small. Nothing masculine about him. They were almost the same height, maybe she was even a little taller.

"I'm sorry, but… you look pretty," Ruby said before thinking.

Once again, the boy just stared at her without a word.

"I can help you with one of those," he finally said, pointing at her bags.

"Oh… pretty, thanks," Ruby smiled and watched as he dragged one of the boxes, leaving her with two.

"It's not far from here, right?" she asked.

"Can't say. You'll see," he answered, his soft voice almost too low to catch. Ruby sighed.

They walked for at least ten minutes before arriving at a villa, painted blue, pretty big, with bold letters on it...RANK D.

Ruby blinked.

"The students stay here?" she turned to the boy.

"Yeah."

"Everyone?"

"Rank D," he replied, and Ruby blinked again.

"What's Rank D?" she asked.

"You should read the black rule book in your hand," the boy muttered, dropping the bag.

Ruby noticed he was avoiding her eyes, and she wondered why. Even his hair covered his forehead so much it almost fell into his eyes.

"Go in. You'll find your room with the card in your hand," he mumbled and turned to leave.

"What's your name? I'm Ruby." She stretched out her hand for a shake.

Again, he just stared at her hand.

"Oliver," he mumbled and walked away without taking it.

"Whoa," Ruby folded her hand.

She began dragging her bags inside, checked her card, and saw the room number… 007.

"Okay, I'll forgive you," she muttered.

*

RANK D, ROOM NO-07*

Ruby let out a loud sigh when she finally stopped in front of the door. She wasn't even sure if anyone was inside, but she unlocked it with the key card easily.

She stepped in with one bag, and four pairs of eyes turned to her at once.

"Uh uh," Ruby blinked.

"New student?!" one of the girls asked, almost too excited.

"I guess?" Ruby forced a small, fake smile.

"You brought just one bag?" Before she knew it, the girls had already carried in her other two bags from outside.

"You're welcome to our little palace," the first girl said brightly.

Ruby nodded, looking around. The room was indeed quite big, at least three times larger than her room back home, maybe four.

Five bed spaces were set apart neatly, each with its own side of the room, enough to give everyone personal space without disturbing one another. The beds looked just right, and the room was surprisingly pretty.

"That's your side," the girl said, pointing.

They helped her with her bags and showed her the wardrobe, which Ruby thanked them for.

"Where are you from? Seeing you in Rank D means... no point at all," another girl remarked.

Ruby was confused as hell.

"What point? And what's Rank D?" she asked.

The girls exchanged glances before one of them asked, "You haven't read the black book?"

Ruby looked at the black book in her hand, then shook her head.

"You should do that before anything else. But anyway, as you can see, we're five in this room. Plus you, actually. I'm Luella, this is Billie. There's June and Vera, but they're not in right now. Nice meeting you... what's your name?" Luella rushed out her words.

Just from her chatter, Ruby could tell she was the talkative type. The second girl, Billie, had barely spoken, only nodding most of the time.

Luella was short too, even compared to Billie, and shorter than Ruby herself.

Short people are mostly stubborn, Ruby thought immediately, judging again.

"Ruby... Ruby Fallon," she said.

"You're so welcome, Ruby. You look pretty," Luella grinned, clapping her hands.

"How old?" she asked.

"I got the admission letter two days ago, which was also my eighteenth birthday. Life is pretty interesting, you know?" Ruby answered sarcastically in Russian, making the girls laugh.

"Please don't tell me you understood that," she groaned, closing her eyes.

"I'm Russian," Billie finally spoke.

"Pretty obvious. And..." Ruby glanced at Luella. "American?"

"So why did you laugh?"

"She thinks Russian sounds funny. She's brainless, you know?" Billie said flatly, making Ruby chuckle.

"We used to have a girl here... you replaced her," Luella added as Ruby sat down.

"Replaced?" Ruby blinked.

"Yeah. She died. You know what? Just read the book first. I'm sure you'll understand everything. And I'm amazed you had to resume today of all days... Sunday?" Luella shook her head.

"I'll start reading after unpacking," Ruby muttered.

*

"This is bullshit," Ruby gasped later.

Luella and Billie looked at her from their beds and chuckled. It had been two hours since her arrival, and Ruby had just finished reading the entire book.

Though to be fair, she had been screaming since page one.

"Prison is way better, if you ask me. This is bullshit," Ruby repeated.

"So now you're telling me I have zero points, and I can get bullied anytime while no teacher lifts a finger? And they'll get points for bullying me?! And I have to work for my own points? I have to hurt others, win tasks, and survive just to earn? What the hell is this? A game? With people's lives?" Ruby ranted, rushing her words.

"Well, that's the point," Luella nodded.

Ruby dropped the book and let out a furious sigh. Nobody had to tell her—this place was hell.

"So how many points do I need to leave Rank D as soon as possible?" she demanded.

"Rank D is 0 to 120 points. Rank C, 121 to 215. Rank B, 220 to 379. Rank A, 380 to 500. Rank S, 500 plus," Luella explained.

"How the fuck did they get 500 points?" Ruby's eyes widened.

"So I need 120 points to leave this rank? I read about the Rank S students... and there are only five. That's kind of iconic. Who are they?" Ruby asked curiously.

"Draco, Ryker, Clyde, Loretta, and Alice," Luella said with a small smile.

"So I can get points from impressing them? I saw in the book that I could even earn thirty points..."

"Don't even think about it. Nobody has ever impressed Draco. He has no heart," Billie scoffed.

"But we need to leave this rank. How many points do you both have right now?" Ruby asked.

"Sixty," Billie replied.

"Fifty," Luella added.

Ruby shook her head and collapsed onto her bed.

"How do those people get that many points?" she mumbled.

"Bullying, shedding blood, molesting, or killing... you get at least a hundred points if you kill a student."

"What?! So that's part of the game too? Who killed the girl I replaced?" Ruby asked, horrified.

"She wasn't killed. She committed suicide," they told her.

Ruby's chest tightened.

"So the villas are the same too? I mean, depending on the ranks?" she asked again, still curious.

"Rank C has four in a room, unlike us. Rank B, two students per room. Rank A, one per room."

"And... Rank S?" Ruby raised her brows.

"They each have their own villa. But Draco's is the biggest. It's called the Black Dvoret."

"Meaning... palace in Russian," Ruby muttered.

Both Billie and Luella nodded at once.

*

DRACO'S BLACK DVORET*

The massive living room was drenched in dim lighting, a dark red glow mixing with the black elegance of the interior. On the couch, Draco sat with a wine glass in hand.

He was shirtless, his sculpted frame carved like stone, his face hidden half in shadow, but his beauty still screamed through the darkness. His sharp jaw looked deadly, and his arms, fucking lethal.

Gray joggers clung low to his waist, already tugged at by a hand with long crimson nails.

"I'm starving," Adeline purred, her fingers roaming over his chest before slipping lower.

Adeline is one of the school's instructor. 27 years old...seven years older than Draco but she's totally obsessed with him.

She pulled his length free without hesitation, licking the tip like a lollipop before taking him into her mouth. She stroked him perfectly with her palm, her tongue slapping against him before she thrust him down her throat again and again, moaning and choking on him.

The only move Draco made was to slide his fingers lazily through her hair, guiding her rhythm, while sipping his wine. He didn't flinch, didn't groan—until his release spilled down her throat.

Adeline swallowed greedily, licking him clean like she was the one who made the mess.

She tucked him back into his joggers before taking the second wine glass on the table. Crossing her legs, she turned to face him hungrily.

"Are you going to attend the board tonight?" she asked.

"Stupid question," Draco muttered, not sparing her a glance.

Adeline chuckled and shifted closer, nearly climbing into his lap.

"But you'll be in school tomorrow, right?" she pressed.

"I'll think about it," he replied.

She finally straddled his lap, kissing him hungrily.

Draco dropped his glass and picked up his phone.

"It's time to go," he said.

Adeline pouted. "I want to stay longer, please..." She stopped when his cold eyes flicked to her.

"Fine. See you tomorrow, joystick," she teased with a wink before kissing him once more and sliding off his lap.

Draco rose, tall and terrifying, and disappeared upstairs without another word.

*

7PM, GRAND HALL*

The grand hall was rowdy, noisy beyond measure. Ruby, Luella, and Billie struggled through the crowd of students, trying to push their way inside and find seats.

There were exactly a hundred seats—one for each student—but that didn't stop the chaos. From afar, Ruby noticed a group of boys ganging up on someone in the middle. They were obviously bullying him, taller bodies shielding him from her sight.

She caught the word they were shouting. "Faggot!"

Her brows furrowed. That was a slur, an insult aimed at gays.

"Why would they do that? That's cruel. And don't fucking tell me they'll even earn points for saying it," Ruby hissed.

Billie and Luella only chuckled as the three of them finally squeezed into seats side by side.

"They're Rank A," Billie explained.

"And the tallest guy, Viktor, he's the strongest in Rank A."

"Asshole," Ruby muttered, glaring at the group.

"Let them be. You don't want to draw their attention to us," Luella warned, so Ruby reluctantly turned away.

Meanwhile, Oliver stood surrounded. His lips were swollen and red from biting them too hard, his face downcast, desperate to avoid eye contact.

"Is he staring at my dick?" Joshua sneered.

"I was about to say the same thing. Such a dick-sucker," Kennedy laughed, and the others joined in.

"I wonder who's fucking his ass," Joshua added, sending the group into hysterics.

Tears welled in Oliver's eyes. They shoved him forward until he hit the ground. Some other A-ranked students jeered, hurling cruel words.

At the front, Viktor stood like a wall, hands shoved casually in his pockets. The leader. He loathed gays with every breath—and seemed to hate Oliver most of all... TBC
