Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The First Show of Power

The afternoon sun cast long shadows across the school courtyard as the final bell rang. Students began to trickle out, curious whispers spreading like wildfire. Word had already reached the streets: Li Feng was waiting outside, and Wang Jun intended to teach him a lesson.

Li Feng stepped out calmly, his black hair catching the light. His uniform was immaculate, yet his posture radiated an unshakable presence. Beside him, Li Xue trailed slightly behind, watching nervously.

A small crowd had gathered outside the gates. Students leaned against walls, perched on fences, eager to witness the impending confrontation.

And there he was—Wang Jun, already pacing, his arrogance blazing like a banner in the wind. His lackeys stood a few steps behind, smirking, clearly anticipating an easy victory.

"Finally, you crawl out, Li Feng," Wang Jun sneered, arms crossed. "Ready to accept humiliation?"

Li Feng's gaze was calm, almost detached. "Are you sure you want to test yourself against someone you barely understand?"

The words made Wang Jun pause, a faint chill brushing the back of his neck. Understand? Who is this guy to speak like that?

"Silence!" Wang Jun barked, stepping forward. "I will crush you, right here, in front of everyone!"

A faint wind seemed to ripple through the air around Li Feng. Subtle, almost imperceptible, yet enough to make nearby leaves tremble. It was not the wind of this world—it carried the faint essence of something older, something vast.

Li Feng's lips curved slightly. So it begins.

The ClashWang Jun lunged first, his fists swinging with brute force. His lackeys laughed, expecting a quick victory. But Li Feng did not dodge. He simply shifted his weight lightly, his movements precise, almost like water flowing around a rock.

The first strike met resistance—not from a block, but from an invisible aura that brushed Wang Jun's arm like hitting mist. His fist stung as if colliding with something solid yet unreal.

"What… what is this?!" Wang Jun staggered back slightly, disbelief flashing in his eyes.

Li Feng's voice was calm, even, as he stepped forward: "You rely on strength alone. But there's more to power than muscle."

The air around him shimmered faintly. Though the spiritual qi of this world was weak, Li Feng could still manipulate it subtly, reinforcing his movements with techniques no ordinary mortal could perceive.

He moved like a shadow, weaving between Wang Jun's next flurry of punches. Each strike glanced off empty air, though Wang Jun could feel the weight of the blows missing him by inches—pressures and forces he could not comprehend.

The crowd gasped. Some students muttered, "He's faster than human!" Others whispered, "Did he just… dodge without moving?"

Wang Jun's face turned red with anger. He pulled back, then struck with both fists simultaneously, aiming to overpower Li Feng. But this time, a faint ripple of starlight traced along Li Feng's arms, a mere whisper of his true cultivation.

With a single, fluid motion, Li Feng sidestepped, and Wang Jun's momentum carried him forward. He stumbled, barely catching himself, shock and rage mixing on his face.

The bystanders went silent. Some stared wide-eyed. Even the lackeys froze.

"Impossible… he's just a… student!" Wang Jun's voice cracked.

Li Feng's eyes narrowed. He extended a hand subtly, not even a proper attack—just a push of refined aura. Wang Jun's feet left the ground involuntarily, and he skidded back several meters before crashing to the pavement.

A sharp gasp ran through the crowd. Li Xue's eyes widened, her hands covering her mouth.

Li Feng remained calm, his voice quiet but carrying unmistakable authority:

"Next time, consider whether your arrogance matches your strength before striking."

AftermathWang Jun struggled to rise, dirt and dust clinging to his uniform. Rage burned in his eyes, yet fear—subtle, but undeniable—shone beneath it. For the first time, he realized that this "frail student" was no ordinary boy.

Li Feng's lips curved faintly, a calm smile. This is just the beginning. Earth may be weak, but even here, I can create a storm.

The crowd erupted into whispers and awe. Some students rushed to Li Feng's side, curious. Others hurried away, shaking their heads, unsure what they had just witnessed.

Li Xue ran forward, grabbing her brother's arm. "Brother! Are you… are you okay?!"

Li Feng placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "I'm fine. But remember this—tonight, Wang Jun will reconsider challenging anyone who stands in his path."

The sun dipped lower, casting long shadows across the streets of Jiangnan City. And in that fading light, a single thought echoed within Li Feng:

The return of the Starlight Immortal Sovereign has begun. No one, not even hidden clans, will escape my awakening.

The city had yet to realize the storm that had arrived quietly among its ordinary streets.
