Chapter 1 - Parents Are Alive

A single oil lamp.

A wooden table.

In the dim room, six-year-old Zhou Sidong was concentrating intently. His eyes were fixed on the round iron sphere in his right hand. When his trembling left hand inserted the safety pin into the safety plug, and the safety plug finally connected with the round iron sphere, Zhou Sidong finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Unknowingly, Zhou Sidong was covered in sweat.

"The grenade is finally finished. My efforts over these two and a half years haven't been in vain."

He was originally a military enthusiast from Earth in his previous life.

Relying on his previous life's passion for and familiarity with military technology, Zhou Sidong had experimented with clay pots over the course of two and a half years, and finally, after hundreds of experiments…

The fragmentation grenade on the table before him was the final masterpiece.

Zhou Sidong gazed at the fragmentation grenade on the table, a proud smile playing on his lips. He then picked up the grenade blueprint from the wooden table and, under the flickering flame of the oil lamp, watched as the paper turned to ash.

After completing this, Zhou Sidong opened the window.

The stars and moon were sparse, individual stars resembling jewels scattered across the night sky.

A beautiful starry sky, twinkling with light, something rarely seen in his previous life.

Zhou Sidong brushed back the purple bangs from his forehead, revealing a pair of deep, bright eyes. He turned to look at the lights of countless homes, the pedestrians coming and going on the streets, and couldn't help but smile. "The night in Notting City is truly lively. Though it can't compare to the hustle and bustle of big cities in my previous life, it's quite remarkable for a small city on the Douluo Continent to have such a flow of people."

Then, Zhou Sidong closed the doors and windows tightly, drawing the curtains. The bright moonlight playfully snuck in through the cracks, casting a long shadow of Zhou Sidong's small figure.

Undress, get into bed, and pull the covers up tight.

Looking at the pitch-black ceiling, Zhou Sidong raised his right hand in a daze, feeling a sense of unreality.

"Did I really…transmigrate to the Douluo Continent?" Zhou Sidong mumbled to himself, lying on the bed.

It was only because he had just finished watching the final episode of the Douluo Continent anime. At the moment he witnessed Bibi Dong protecting Qian Renxue and being pierced through the body by Tang San's Asura Demon Sword, a strange thought suddenly welled up in his heart.

At that moment, the doorbell rang.

It was the delivery he had ordered.

In the process of opening the door to get the delivery, Zhou Sidong's mind kept replaying the scene from before. It was also at this moment that something happened that would affect Zhou Sidong's next life.

He directly ignored the bewildered delivery guy, walking straight to the gap between the stairs and the stairwell. When Zhou Sidong realized what was happening, a sharp pain spread through his body.

With his consciousness fading, his life finally came to an end.

With the last of his vision, Zhou Sidong saw the delivery guy's terrified face as he ran downstairs. Finally, Zhou Sidong breathed his last.

When Zhou Sidong woke up again, it was a stormy night. He was being held by someone, covered in mud, and had arrived in a familiar yet unfamiliar world.

Douluo Continent.

Luckily my parents are still alive. Unlike the orphanages in my previous life, where, after transmigrating, both parents were gone, and the protagonist was alone. I really want to awaken my Martial Soul quickly tomorrow. My father's Martial Soul is the Heavenly Hammer, a tool Martial Soul, and my mother's Martial Soul is the Healing Scepter, a support-type Martial Soul. I wonder which one I'll inherit?

If I had dual Martial Souls, that would be even better. Zhou Sidong was envisioning the future, full of curiosity and anticipation for Douluo Continent.

Just as Zhou Sidong was building his blueprint for a beautiful future…

Suddenly, a sweet, charming voice echoed in Zhou Sidong's mind.

"Ding, slumber concluded."

"Slumber time: 17 years."

"Ding, detecting character…"

"Ding, character confirmed. Zhou Sidong, male, six years old, Martial Souls: Soul Eater Spider Emperor, Six-Winged Angel. Awakening Martial Souls for Zhou Sidong, Martial Soul awakening in progress, please wait…"

A string of inexplicable sounds shocked Zhou Sidong. He suddenly jumped up from the bed, clutching the oil lamp on the table tightly. Using the faint light of the oil lamp, Zhou Sidong looked around the empty room.

The room was silent. Zhou Sidong could only hear the thumping of his own heart. His heart instantly leaped into his throat.

"No one's here? That voice just now… Could it be the standard for transmigrators, the legendary System Daddy!!"

Just as he was lost in thought, Zhou Sidong suddenly felt a heat surge through his body. A warm current was flowing through every part of him, filling his limbs and bones with warmth, something Zhou Sidong had never experienced before.

This scene was exactly the same as what his father, Zhou Shijie, had described during Martial Soul awakening.

"That voice just now… was awakening my Martial Souls, and… Soul Eater Spider Emperor, Six… Six-Winged Angel… Really?"

Zhou Sidong didn't dare to think further.

If that voice was real, then what Zhou Sidong had just experienced would undoubtedly shake the entire Douluo Continent.

The Soul Eater Spider Emperor, the emperor among the demon spider Martial Souls.

The Six-Winged Angel, representing the Spirit Hall, was far superior to all other Martial Souls on the continent. It was a god-level Martial Soul with the advantage of innate full soul power at level twenty, essentially starting at the finish line.

This was something Zhou Sidong dared not even imagine.

Following that, Zhou Sidong felt something was about to appear. The originally dim and dark room, the faint light of the oil lamp, like a beacon in the darkness, guided Zhou Sidong. However, this beacon flickered, almost extinguished!

On the wall behind him, illuminated by the oil lamp, a ferocious demon spider with eight thick, barbed legs slowly emerged. A miasma of Malevolent Spirit emanated from behind Zhou Sidong.

"This... is the Soul Eater Spider Emperor?"

Zhou Sidong shivered, not daring to turn around. He could only barely make out the Soul Eater Spider Emperor's appearance through its reflection in the mirror on the table. Its eight pairs of crimson eyes flashed red in the darkness, and its sharp forelegs emitted a ghostly green glow.

Following that, the Soul Eater Spider Emperor's figure gradually retreated.

Just as Zhou Sidong breathed a sigh of relief, the originally dim room became as bright as day. A pair of pure white wings emerged from behind Zhou Sidong, breaking free from gravity and floating upwards, only fifty centimeters off the ground.

Positioned in a third of the room, behind Zhou Sidong, a golden phantom quietly appeared. That golden phantom had wings, three pairs of six wings.

At the same time, a special power, like a tide, surged into Zhou Sidong's entire body, seemingly reaching a bottleneck.

Not long after, Zhou Sidong was already drenched in sweat. He hadn't yet recovered from what had just happened when, immediately afterward, a petite figure suddenly appeared before his eyes.

It was a little girl, carved like jade. The girl had a head of golden hair like a waterfall, and her bright, large eyes were like two black gemstones. Her cute and charming appearance immediately made Zhou Sidong blush; he had never seen such a kawaii girl before.
