She lifted her skirt and went downstairs. Cherry was in the living room, sitting in a recliner by the fireplace, reading a book, with a blanket covering her legs.
Seeing her so leisurely, Susanna secretly rolled her eyes. When she looked up again, her eyes and nose were red, and tears were about to fall from her eyes.
"Mommy..." Susanna threw herself at Cherry's legs, pitifully hugging them.
Cherry was taken aback: "What's wrong, child? Who bullied you?"
Susanna anxiously cried, "Please go plead with Daddy! Josh has been locked up for 23 hours already, and she hasn't even had a sip of water."
She raised her head, a crystal tear sliding down her cheek, heart-breakingly pitiful.
Cherry looked at her with a touch of emotion: "My kind-hearted child, if only she had half your kindness, she wouldn't be suffering like this today."
