Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Divination with Points

Susanna couldn't help but get anxious when she saw so many people rushing up to grab.

If they all finish, where would she have a chance to advance?

She squeezed her way to Josh's side with difficulty: "Josh! Josh! Help me out, won't you? We're both children of the Augustine family, right? We're the closest sisters!"

Josh sighed softly: "Then come over, I'll help you calculate first."

"How can there even be favoritism in this?"

Under the envious eyes of the crowd, Susanna was the first to transfer 6000 points to him.

She already had a piece of equipment in her hand, just needed two more.

Josh divined for her and told her the exact location.

Susanna turned away excitedly, found the monster trigger point, quickly gathered three pieces of equipment, and left the plane.

The others became more anxious.

"Me! I'll offer ten thousand points, that's more than what they offered, calculate for me first!"

"Then I'll offer twelve thousand!"

"I'll offer thirteen thousand!"

The crowd spontaneously started bidding.

Live chat: "So these are the players we've voted in with points?"

"It's just a newbie promotion round, the difficulty is so low. Even without that ridiculous divination, it's pretty easy to pass, right? Just finding trigger points, and the monster attack power is really low."

"Plus... can you really synthesize a personal weapon with gear not earned by your own effort?"

"I don't know, I've never seen such a situation before."

The first plane every batch of newbies attended was usually not difficult, typically a simple point-finding mission.

The three pieces of equipment obtained through their own efforts would be ultimately merged into a personal weapon most suitable for them, based on their individual characteristics, overall performance, and personality traits.

Can a personal weapon still be synthesized in this way, relying entirely on others for promotion?

Those with enough points to pay Josh for divination basically had the backing of a family driving demand, not lacking in points.

In the plane, besides Josh, there were 5 players remaining.

And only 4 advancement slots left.

A few couldn't help but get nervous.

Josh would definitely leave a slot for herself, so there were only 3 slots left for the other 5.

The sky gradually brightened.

According to the plane rules, after daybreak was the time when monsters fell asleep, and could not be triggered.

The little monkeys and lions on the stage spontaneously returned to their cages to sleep.

The other five stared at Josh in bewilderment.

They spontaneously grouped up, isolating Josh.

If not for her, their chances of advancement would be greater.

Josh couldn't be bothered with them, just yawned, snuggled into the big one's belly, arranged some cotton, laid down, and immediately fell asleep.

In fact, her energy was nearly exhausted.

With an attack power of 3 points, and having already used the last of her Spiritual Power underwater to draw out her Spiritual Sense, attaching it to the puppet.

Her whole body was burning now, and the consequence of overtaxing her body was a high fever.

Those five surely wanted to kill her.

But with an SSS-level big guy guarding by her side, those people couldn't touch her.

The little black dog lay worriedly beside her, humming and gently nudging her thin wrist with its head.

Josh didn't sleep long.

She was awakened by hunger.

She hadn't eaten breakfast before entering the game, and there was nothing to eat in the plane.

She rubbed her eyes, groggily got up, leaning against the big one's belly.

After entering the game, every player would transform into the cartoon image on the back of their invitation card.

Her face was still her face, just wearing a suspender pleated skirt with elements of a jester and poker diamonds, her long red hair spread out like soft velvet.

She closed her eyes, her face carrying a hint of fragility.

A black jester diamond pattern under her right eye, her left eye sporting intricate and eerie jester elements.

Even so, it couldn't cover her stunning beauty.

Live chat: [Josh may be a bit useless, but she's truly beautiful.]

[So eerie, for a moment, I actually wanted to become that SSS-level monster.]

[You're not alone on that.]

Josh, feeling rested enough, got up from the big one, petted the little black dog, and prepared to find something to eat.

The others stayed far away from her.

She didn't mind, better they stay away.

Josh walked onto the stage, looking at the octopus sleeping on the water's surface, and touched her chin.

She was really hungry.

Josh touched the springy octopus tentacle hanging at the pool's edge, licking her lips.

The people not far away watched her in confusion: "What is she doing? Does she have a death wish?"

"If she wakes up the octopus, she'd be swatted into mush, wouldn't she?"

"Have you seen her make a move before? I think it's possible she's hiding something."

"She's just a worthless F-grade spiritual power, even if she had a holdout, she couldn't beat this octopus."

"Not necessarily, isn't there still an SSS-level monster beside her?"

"Do you think she might be deceiving us? How could an F-grade worthless person control an SSS-level monster?"

"I think... is it possible she's pretending with her spiritual power level?"

"That makes a lot of sense! When has this game ever let an F-grade person in? The minimum threshold is B-grade, right?"

"So... she's been playing the fool to beat the wise?"

"It's possible! The five of us combined might not be able to defeat her, so everyone be careful and avoid direct conflict with her."

Live chat: [...]

[These people are so foolish.]

[Stop imagining things, she's just an F-grade spiritual power, an attack power of only 3 points, you didn't missee that.]

[And even if she's at B-grade, so what? You five B-grades added together still fear her?]

Over there, Josh was already instructing the big one to chop off one of the octopus's legs.

The octopus screamed in agony, waking up from its slumber.

Enraged, it waved its tentacles, striking towards Josh.

The live chat filled with exclamations.

In a split second, Josh not only didn't dodge, but raised her hand to meet the octopus.

The crowd was dumbfounded.

Was she really ignorant of death or just scared stiff?

That octopus had crushed a player to death during the performance earlier.

A worthless person with only 3 points of combat power dared to face it directly?

[I can't look, such a beautiful face, it's sure to be smashed.]

[Can't understand what she's doing, is this a death wish?]

[Such a waste of that face, if she could survive, she could become a star player with some packaging.]

But in the blink of an eye, the octopus let out another scream, retracting its tentacles.

Not only that, it began to tremble all over, quickly retreating to the other side of the pool, as if Josh scared it witless, not even daring to look in her direction.

The crowd watched the scene in shock.
